- In this video I demonstrate how to play the them song for James Bond on guitar, along with provide you with some interesting facts about the song. This is a cool jazz/swing song that has an iconic lick that everyone loves and every guitar player should learn. I hope you find it fun and beneficial!
Finally got around to playing this iconic theme tune, lots of fun to be had with this tune. Many thanks Marty.
Awesome lesson! Loved every bit of it - especially as a long time Bond-fan! Thanks for this!
You are an excellent teacher, with creative musical sensibility …and good musical taste. This is the kind of quirky stuff I love to play on guitar.
Thanks for the very nice comment. 🥂 I really appreciate that. I love this kind of quirky stuff too! It's really fun.
A perfect lesson! Superb integration and explanation of the history, tone, theory, harmony, practicality. And fabulous tabs.
Thank you Richard. That was a nice comment and I appreciate your kind words and support. Glad you liked the video! 😁🥂
I am maybe a low intermediate player and thought I could enhance my fretboard orientation and technique the by focusing on surf music. I'm awestruck that a player of your stature takes the time to help with lessons like this one. The hand written tabs really add a personal touch.
Great lesson dude. I'm really enjoying learning this.
Glad to hear it! 😊
I was just checking out the Music of 007 documentary last night. Thanks for the lesson.
You're very welcome!
There are plenty of James Bond Theme tutorials out there, but none capture the complexity and detail of the composition as yours does. Awesome job, and Thank You!
Now thats the perfect guitar for the Bond music, i was hoping you would do this, love it!....those guys used to score TV themes in real time, there was no computers to track it, genius!
Gold finger! Yeh they were tremendous musicians and quite a work ethic!
Man that’s so cool. I love stuff like this. If I could afford to take lessons from any human alive, I think that human is you! It’s obvious how much you love music, & that’s a really cool vibe. I’m a drummer primarily, tinkered with guitars off & on, till I got more into building & hot rodding… now I’m trying to get serious & learn some real stuff…learning the instrument & the patterns & shite, it’s an overwhelming instrument. I also read music growing up on drums & saxophone, so I have some formal knowledge, too. That yellow guitar you built is burning my eyes, but man does it sound good!
Very cool! Need a martini to get this right. I've been doing the octave thing over the E minor intro. So on the A string second fret you hit B and the octave then move to C then to C# back to C. Anywho.. I love to play this because people love it and it can be a great attention getter. Thanks man.
No doubt😊
Cheers!!! 😄🥂
❤Excellent skillset to learn, im lovin it big time, this is dope. Reminds me of CC throwin in a The Munsters riff during his solo medley of the stadium tour this summer. I got 3 of them!!!❤
Yeh man! Thanks. Totally got that munsters vibe! Lol
Great lesson. I will be on to this, many thanks Marty.
Enjoy man! Thank for watching. 😎🤟🏻
Great one Marty! Thank you 👌🌠🌠🌠🌠👍
You're very welcome. 😎🥂
cool Marty, I like this lesson!
i just add this: for low guitarists like me for having the result you don't have to do the tricky thing "à la wes montgomery", you can do other way.
Moreover I really like the stories about the music i could learn, and the written stuff to help playing.
excuse my low english it's not my common langage.
Thanks a lot !
Marty…thanks for a great lesson to a classic theme!
You're very welcome man! Thanks for watching. 🥂
Dang Marty you come up with some of the craziest stuff man you go brother! And you always seem to have the right guitar to play the part good on you
I try to keep it interesting! 😁
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker and you do that very well might I add
I am trying to learn the guitar (very poorly). I can't wait to try this.
Thank you for the upload.
You're welcome. Enjoy!
The "spy" chord at the end is the best! Cool that Billie and Finneas added that at the end of thier "No Time To Die" theme.
It's a Major/ mlnor chord
Awesome brother from Warren Andrews 😎
Raquel Welch....!I was in love with her back in the day...........
That's Ursula Andress, not Raquel.
Yes .... fine woman
aye cool and the fingerpickin thing you did, I took it to the a string em and chord strummed and I could see what the chords were clearer straight up major seven if C bass after the em then e minor six or dom 9 if A bass..... tune came to mind cause I got skatellites on my playlist... last chord interesting if you threw in the b7 and B bass you got flat 13 what ever augmented? but you give it E and got min maj makes me think of prokofiev
Like you said, there's many ways to skin that cat. But the key is that twangy surf thing by playing close to the bridge. Another good song to learn is the Pink Panther theme. It sounds great on the guitar. Play the saxophone parts too with a real bluesy feel. I just found your channel, so I got to go back and see your past videos. Maybe you already have done it. Liked and subbed.
Pink Panther! That's one I need to work on. Thanks so much for watching and the support man! 😎🙌
Wow that was awesome! For some reason I kept expecting the solo for DOA to come out of nowhere, but that's another story! It might a great mash up! Thanks for all the inspiration! You rock!
Thanks for watching man!!! 😎🙌
Really fun tune! Thanks so much!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching. 😎🙌
I can hear it in my head even before you started playing.
Do the Munsters next
Without further delay. The lesson starts @ 2:33.
Very cool…Surfy Jazz…Iconic tune for sure….the Good the Bad the Ugly has cool guitars too….
Good idea! ☮️💯
Fun lesson! Thanks!
All you need is a walther ppk and a bond girl! Nice job on this one. I'm going to irritate my son when we watch skyfall soon.
Very nice 👌
Thanks you! ☮️
Great choice, thanks!
Thanks so much! Enjoy. ☮️
So good, thank you so much for this
You're very welcome. Thank you! 😎🙌

Thanks for the link man! 🥂
Marty always at the party... : )
Haha! Sometimes!! 😁
Looks like Marty is on a "plank" guitar kick.. only Gibson I see is a SG and it was "their" plank. I still have several SG's myself. After seeing they really can be broken easily I keep mine in cases. Only Gibson I have bought since 2019 was a Kramer..
I go through phases but my Murphy is the best guitar I own. Love my Strats and Teles though!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻
RIP Vick Flick
Wally Bryson from the Raspberries was a good guitar player. You should do the song " Go all the way " it's a real great song to play Marty. I am not fond of anything Bond related.
I love the campiness of the old ones and the opening scenes a lot. And the Daniel Craig ones are awesome IMO. 🥂
Are you really a guitar player
Last time I checked 😊
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker interesting
This was written by John Paul and Jimmy Page
You must have done a lot of research for this!
Too bad the "last " movie pretty much killed the franchise.
Haven't seen it yet. I want to!
What happened?
Left turn on Woke.. and got lost. see it and see.
@@Jaloja it's a $5 rental. If it's woke garbage I'd rather not see it.
@@Jaloja It became woke when the old and decrepit Judi Dench played M in my opinion.
James? James Bond! Sean Connery the real James Bond!! The others sucked!! Thanks Marty!!
Awe man. I dig Daniel Craig. He's a badass! 😁
too much talk go straight to your point demo
cool song-the guy got 6 bucks to play it - what a bunch of cheapskates
STOP talking
From Bond to ZZTop you are rocking the knowledge...
