Portable cooker is a brill idea. Lovely day, remove it and cook outside. This is what I do.
The horn when you lock is a warning that a door is open, normally the side loading door switch goes bad. I glued the button in on mine meaning the van thought the door was permanently closed and it fixed the beeping, but it also disabled the alarm if the side door ever got opened by a baddy 😂
My Transit only bleep the horn when one of the doors isn’t shut properly, try checking the door switches are working correctly

I love minis too- when I was 17 I bought a racing green mini for £40 - that was back in 1980! It was old - D reg and had holes in the floor. My dad was a fitter and he always fixed everything. I passed my test in it and went on to have 6 different models of mini- best trick was blanket on the engine on a cold , frosty night- even drove to work with it on by mistake once. Even had a mini metro. 😂 employed this video too . Cheers

I've watched this from Porthcothan Bay today, in our van. And it's taken from 9am until now to finish it due to poor phone signal! 😂 The dog and wife think I'm being really sociable. I'm not, it's just that I have minimal TH-cam!
My first car was a 1976 1100 clubman, followed that with a 1963 Cooper S, then I had a 1979 1275 GT, which got torn apart and had Mini Metro turbo engine put in it. My three biggest interests, are anything VW, anything Mini, and anything BMX.
I bet that cooper s would be worth a pretty penny now

Horn beeps on these if ut thinks the doors are open.... go round slam them all, then check and clean the contact pins... try roughing thrm up with a rough sponge 🤷 then check to see if they are making contact properly.... side door is the usual culprit
great to meet you saturday dont meet to many film stars , just watched the video and i can see why you turned a funny shade when you seen the inside of my transit. its only our 4th time out and its a working progress as we find what works for us the main thing is we are out on the weekends. cant believe you let me yammer your ear off about everything and took the time to meet us all 😄.
Hope the turbo is ok. I had one whistle and it was broken. Take the hose off and you can check the fan blades......

Shaun Good evening great video as usual look forward to every Sunday. As for van tooting when locking. In the States when your car is locked and you press the lock button on remote twice the horn sounds and headlights come on . This is so you can find your car in vast car parks and security. I own a Dodge and it has been disabled for the EU . Only head lights come on . Even tried to get a Dodge Dealer to change it and the option is greyed out on the computer for EU spec Cars for noise abetment rules i believe. Keep them coming great watching all the best Mart

A leak in the turbo... in a van who just had the engine completely replaced. That garage better be fixing that problem for free.
My Transit mk8 Rwd has a tendency to rub the intercooler hose on a crossmember and put a hole in it. Also as the weather will be turning wetter check your air filter isnt getting wet from water dripping down on to it..
I went to a good burger spot just along from the blue bar with a local young lady once, it’s like a different planet there when the suns out surf culture and all that, I remember Christmas trees half buried in the sand for some reason too I think that was o stop the sand being eroded but the fact I could see them meant it hadn’t worked I think.. we didn’t get married either 😂

Omg I frequented the blue bar for the first time the other week. Food and drink excellent and great staff.
My transit has a button to unlock the front doors and a button to unlock the rear doors and one button to lock all, when I use one button to unlock the front doors then try to lock using the lock button the alarm sounds, I have to press both unlock buttons before the lock button will work without the alarm sounding. I’m not sure but if you use the info button on your dash there are settings which may control which doors are activated with key fob.

I’ve messaged you in a previous video about the turbos on these . And like I said befor I’ve blown 2, at £1700 a pop. I religiously check my oil every Sunday and top up if needed,( these engines are known for burning oil)👍🏼 just a heads up
The garage have checked the turbo and they’ve said it’s fine so the leak is coming from somewhere else. It’s booked back in now though. Just got to wait for them to do it

Double check the dashboard display driver settings options ? I seem to recall that you can disable the horn on lock setting ? You might also find a few other easter eggs like hill start brake etc 😊

Look at it another way with the portable hob idea,you got flexibility of using gas or induction. Also think about safety with you child, your child might climb on to that seat to watch mummy or daddy so a portable hob you can move out of harms way.

Whistling turbo is ok to use don't worry about them.
You can change the "Horn" settings in the menu. I changed it in that way, that I only get the Horn, if a door ist not closed while locking the car.....

On the sliding door probably need to just clean the locking sensor I have to do mine now and then and it works perfectly fine again
Hi Shaun nice to see you had your safety Crocs on they are the most comfiest and gripper shoes I have. On the horn thing I noticed you had your door vents in so when you look the van it thinks the windows are open and it giving you a warning.
Shaun, you need to put the fan on before cooking probably 10 mins as it takws time for the volume of air in yoy van to start to move.

Beep means a doors open (potentially a sensor fault) but be sure to check its actually locked as mine wont lock unless it thinks doors are closed
You are correct, if it beeps the doors are not locked.

I don't uses my built in how very much and use a portable gas hob which takes those small bottles. I dont even use the sink much as I just get a washing up bow and fill with water washing my plates sitting on the sofa

You use micro mash you should try BNM and buy the 49p chicken mash you just add hot water and me n the mrs always put a nob of butter in it .Reeva mashed potato...
The sprinters at work you can change the horn on lock to off via the radio, could be the same for the transit

My Merc has that feature where it sounds the horn to alert of successful locking, it’s called ‘acoustic locking’ if you have a dash menu maybe it will be there to disable.. or if you can get a Carly or something similar you can change it. Also I download some things I want to watch just in case I get to a place with no signal.
I’ve just found this on a site, it may help you disable to horn on locking.
The Van Is Set To Honk When Lock By Fabric
If there are no issues with your van, but instead, is set to beep or honk when you lock it by fabric, there is a quick trick you can try to fix it.
This fabric setting is not usual, but it can still be found in some models depending on the year and origin fabric.
If you want to deactivate this feature:
Press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for two seconds and the lights will flash three times.
Lock the doors and the horn shouldn’t sound anymore (unless the panic alarm or security system is triggered).

There might be a setting you can use somehow to change the alarm function to silent. I have a 2019 Connect and have found out that Ford can be quite annoying with their "helpful" features.

More engine problems!? You just spent thousands on a new one! If you like a lot of mashed potato I'd recommend the powdered stuff, boil a kettle and voila.

Where is the boost leak coming from? If it’s just a small puncture then maybe you can patch it for now. Otherwise maybe DIY a new hose in? Best of luck mate- The Malaysian Emmet

Love Blue bar at Porthtowan . No phone signal means your partner has to talk to you .👏👌
If a boost hose has split the only option is a new hose. They aren't expensive. Some motor factors might try sell you tape to 'repair' the hose. It would cost almist as much as a new hose and it'll do FUCK ALL.
I fixed a turbodiesel van for a mate who knows nowt about mechanics. He'd tried the tape fix but it was absolutely useless. He wasn't happy about spending more money, but it was the only fix.
Hopefully a hose has just come loose and is letting boost escape.
Chuck a DVD player in the van. You can watch films if you're somewhere you don't have internet.

Leakey turbo hose!! Mine did that on the M4, I thought I was gonna have to replace the turbo, nope, just refitted the loose hoses properly. Job done. Scary though at 9pm in the pissing rain.

In the mornings, have you already had yourself a coffee before you have to faff about making a 'TH-cam coffee'? Or do you just leave filming that sequence until later in the day when you're more compos mentis? 😉
The coffee I film is always my first coffee. Believe it or not I like to film the sequence as I gives me time to wake up before talking to the camera. I can pretty much zone out 😂

Solar. Remind me the system size u have, please. I had a similar issue with my victron (its the 50amp vevrsion) I fixed it by putting solar in series. Victron mppt requires very high voltage to operate compared to other charge controller's. Just give it a try.
It’s the 30A version and I have one 305w panel. I got it working the other day by bypassing the earth but it’s stopped working again now.

I think that you can get an obd11 fob that you can plug into your van and change the program on locking your van without the horn

Omg turbos are a horrible thing here. Well one in particular. My son got a Juke on finance he didn't have it long before the turbo broke on it. He used to drive his Dad's Juke which is why he got one, however right from the start he said it felt wrong when driving it, his Dad tried it and also said it felt wrong. So he took it back to the dealer and they checked it over twice. They said it was fine. He used that car to get to work, take me places as I'm not well, take the neighbour shopping as she is 86 and a widow. He works 6 days a week and gets £1600 a month if he's lucky. We'll the jukes turbo gave up after a short time owning it, he bought a cheap run about so he could carry on working and take me and the neighbour places. Motornovo is the finance place dealing with it, so my son told them he can no longer drive that car. They kept pressuring him to make more payments but why should he. They eventually offered him 3 companies to come our and check the car, he chose one and the man said yes this car has more problems than just the turbo. Motornovo got the results and said they were sending out their own inspector. Well he told my son yes the turbo is broke, he was useless. So my son went to the ombudsman who was also useless, doesn't want to help. Now motornovo want £7000 in a month. My son is struggling he suffers depression, anxiety, ptsd and adhd, he is really down now and says he would be better off out of this world. I'm hoping and praying he doesn't do anything silly. Xx
