Really enjoy your videos! I am being evicted from my wee cottage in the highlands and have decided to buy a bus to live in full time! I have even started to video it for YT! thanks for your inspiration! God bless
The pirate ship! I remember this, it was sooooo good. Iv told so many stories about that ship and searched for pics and info. Teared up watching this, I remember my older sister daring me to go down that slide (she tricked me into doing it 😂) and spending hours and hours on it. She passed away a few years back and would have loved to have seen this. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing the magic and that Gallion ship! That was a ship full of imagination - unlike today! Wishing everyone success and fun this week! Have a great week from Paul & Kathy in GB 🤝👍✊
I love this, taking a lovely break with your father is priceless, I’ve built a micro camper out of a galaxy and put a roof tent on so I can take my father places, he’s 83 but he loves it.
Ditto what everyone is saying ... Great to spend QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR DAD ... U may take it for granted but it is NOT UNTIL YOUR DAD PASSES that u wish u had spent more TIME with him and showed HIM SOME L❤VE AND APPRECIATION FOR BEING YOUR DAD XX 💜✌🌍👻.. LISA from the UK 🇬🇧
Sitting here on a Sunday evening, in wet & rainy Ireland, and you've just transported me way back to my childhood in the UK. The moment you and your Dad started down the path to the beach, something fired up in my memory. It all looked familiar, but not quite the same, then you showed the beach for the first time, and I gasped. We used to stay at that very campsite every summer with our caravan, always the week before going back to school. The site was very VERY different then, without giving my age away, this was a very long time ago. The campsite was essentally a field out the back of a dairy farm. We would go up to the farmhouse to buy milk, I think the farmer's wife sometimes had some baked goods to sell, and a freezer where we could re-freeze our ice blocks. Occasionally my brother and I would be invited to go and watch the milking, which I always loved (I went on to do a BSC in Agiculture - possibly not entirely down to these milking parlour visits, but no doubt a small seed, sewn early). The path down to the beach looks easier now, particularly with the wooden steps, but the path back up looks as daunting as ever. It was always the part I dreaded, after a day (or a few hours) spent on the beach, hunting in the rock pools and splashing in the shallow waves. It felt ike it took 5 minutes to get down the hill, but hours (in a child's mind) to drag ourselves back up the hill. We have an amazing pic of my dad, standing at the top of the beach path, waiting for me and my brother to catch up to him. Whatever way the camera caught him, there was a light beam reflection coming down from the sun on to his head. The photo always made us laugh. it's framed and up on the wall at mum's house. So, thank you Sean, for sparking my brain into bringing back some magical memories from my childhood, spent in bliss at that campsite many years ago, and I hope you enjoyed making your own cherished memories with your dad in the same place! Maybe next time I'm in the UK, with my camper, I'll drive down there, for a nostalgia trip.
You're very lucky. I spent much of my youth in Cornwall with my Dad and family. I'll never be able to go camping with my old man again tho as he had a huge accident in Cornwall a couple years ago now. He has suffered life changing injuries and doesn't remember much of anything anymore... but this video brought back lots of happy memories for me. Thank you for that. Spend more time with ya dad 👍
Great video, reading other comments it seems so others are the same as me and appreciating the relationship you have with your dad who's a legend and enjoying some quality bonding time. I unfortunately lost my dad last year it makes you appreciate moments like this even more. Enjoy every moment. I've just got back from a weekend camping with my daughter passing on those moments and inspired by you we did a camp by a lake to paddle board, we had firepit, stew and wind out fairy lights. Lush time. Keep going mate enjoy every week.
Nice spending time with your dad! And showing Lands End. I was there once, I think in 1989. Remember it was free then. Didn’t have to pay for parking either. They did foto’s that you had to pay for, but if you didn’t you could take you’re own camera. Thnx brings back memories.
Nice memories to look back on with the added bonus of filming all them years ago. Memories fade but videos last a lifetime. Shows the importance of filming for the future to look back on
Hi Shaun, great video and nice spending time with your dad . I remember the galleon out of interest is the helicopter still there?remembering good times from the past unfortunately it’s just a money making enterprise nowadays
Am watching this video " though envious eyes " , I loved playing football with my late father , and going out with him in his lorry in the late 60's early 70's when I was a young lad. If only I could turn back the clock and relive those moments- great video mate
In 1980 my sister and I spent a term at school in Bodmin; our parents would find beaches like that one at weekends and over the summer holidays - because no vehicles could get to the beach they were fairly safe from having to buy us ice creams! In 89/90 my parents moved to Nancledra, in the wilds of West Penwith. A friend and I helped them move in and 'recovered' with a pint at the Engine Inn, where you camped at a little while ago. My father died in early 94 (at 75, he had a second family in his 50s) when I was only 23. As another commenter mentioned - times with your father are precious - so paying £8 for parking to reminisce (and miss breakfast) sounds like a bargain! Looking forward to seeing you getting stuck in to the new van conversion next week! Look after yourself Shaun! Have you plans to take Kate away for a fancy weekend before #2?
Spending time like this - one on one - with your parents, is absolutely PRICELES ! I must say the old "ship" of your childhood looks much more fun than the run of the mill basic playground of now !!💙🦋
I would have loved to have done something like that with my dad. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance. Cherish your dads whilst they are still here. Really lovely to see.
Great video, whilst watching I realised I have been there too, my wife & I parked up at Gwynver Beach (quite cheaply) last year and walked down the coast path, past Sennen Cove to Lands end. It's not too far if you like walking. Had a drink at the pub & walked back, lovely trip out
Gosh, I remember the large ship at lands end. My son thought it was amazing. 😢 It's no longer there, and yes, it was free for most things back in the day
Love Trevedra Campsite and Sennen Cove. Stayed many times. Roast on the Coast on Sunday from the cafe is great. Take your own plates they fill it up and you can take it back to your van. Walk back up from the beach is strenuous but well worth it
A nice nostalgic trip with father mate. I wish mine was still here so make the most of them while you can. I used to do that climb out of Gwynver in one go, now I need two "pit stops"! 😀
Im a couple years younger than you but my dads older than yours.. or atleast alot less mobile! But the bit where your flipping back n forth from 1992 to now got to me 😢❤ its odd seeing ya folks get old... glad you can still have adventures.. cherish them! That trip your dad had down to the beach would of finished mine off 😂 ❤
I bet this great video has bought a few tears and happy memories for people, makes me realise how quick time goes and appreciate what you have 👍🏼👍🏼great video, as usual had the maps open at the same time checking where in Cornwall this was 👍🏼
Seeing you having such a great time with your dad makes me think of mine and the last holiday we all spent together that was me my brother and mum and dad. Spend as much time with them because those times are precious, I still go to the same places but now it’s just. Me and my two dogs in my touring caravan, soon to become a motor home ore camper van depending. On finances 😎🐶🐶
Nice video! I was there a couple of weeks ago with my brothers, awesome campsite and part of the country. Checked out a few other sports from your videos while we were down there, Lamorna and Treen, good recommendations! Hoping to do a similar trip with my dad at some point soon too!
Loved watching this with you & your dad. Last year when we went to Land's End, they were taking car park fees on the gate. If you could prove you were local , you got cheaper parking. Always looking forward to next week's video...
Another great video Lands End No thanks Its the Lizard for me Less commercialized and natural plus the cafe with it outside seating overlooking the old lifeboat station Fantastic
I stayed at the very campsite next to where you was parked.did you hear the cows mooing in the morning like I did.the cow shed is directly behind where you was park..will definitely be back there soon..you should have had one of there Cornish pasties.really nice.made the proper way.nice to see you dad again.like his t shirt.
Love that campsite! Role up with chickens in our camp❤ Path to imo best surf spot, driven there for breakfast on a car camping tour! Tend to use Google maps satellite view to find places then, if available, street view to confirm those last awkward parts of the nav. Blindly following a postcode to rural locations is asking for trouble 😂

I have a picture of me on the pirate ship circa 1988. It used to be sited in the central courtyard from memory and looking at the picture.
