Lord Commissar Joe is a tactical genius, with just a SINGLE guardsman he distracted the entirety of the enemy line, allowing other forces to redeploy and flank the vile xenos threat. Legend has it even after the guardsman's demise, his body did not give up and continued to stand in defiance of the enemy, provoking their ire even further and making them oblivious to the threats on the flanks. Ecclesiarchy is currently debating whether to canonize this man as a saint.
Life is the Emperor's currency, spend it well.

orks use whatever they can find and fire.. they loves guns, any guns. and guardsmen have autoguns that use bullets.. so you need to reread the lore homey.
The fact they got a competent AI that doesn’t relay on “ boons “ to be stronger, but actually kick your ass, makes me appreciate these 3 guys so much I hope they get more attention.
I actually voiced the Ork intro in the game and cannot tell you how excited I was to see you put it in your video, Joe!
I agree that it would've been great to have voiced units in the game. I would have voiced every Ork ingame had I the chance! XD
First I thought it was kinda lazy not to voice everything....Then I heard it were like 3 dudes making it and all is forgiven it's very impressive what 3 loving fans can achieve.
Though agreed hearing a Ork yell WAAAAAAAAAGH before he butchers a enemy unit never gets old.

Yeah that's reality of a small budget and most voice actors are really expensive... not just pay but logistically speaking as well. But hopefully if the game does well, they might be able to go back and add voices in. I know I've not killed my vocal cords yet so I've got a few more WAAAGH!s in me if they decide to revisit it :)

That was really good voicing you did, at least computable to the best I have heard and better than most. Quick qjuestion? Was there any voice manipulation done electronically or did you manage all of it yourself, tones, timber, volume, ect?

A imperial commissar would not waste shots like that! He would shoot at his men, not the air!
Reminds me of their quote from the original Dawn of War games. "If you will not serve in combat, you will serve on the firing line", indicating what happens to any guardsman who tries to not die to the enemy. They'll be shot by their commisar as an example to bolster the courage of the rest of the squad.
In french, that line goes :"if you will not fight, you'll be used as canon fodder !"
Makes one to think why they don't just shoot their commissar...

You see, Necrons have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of Imperial Guards at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
Have you studied the tactics of the famed general Warmaster Brannigan? A fine man who knows how best to utilize his men, his human wave tactics have proven a great benefit to the Imperium. Shame about those desgraceful rumours of his cowardice and incompetence though. Obviously they're just jealous of his success.
I would use a combination of long range units and numbers.

Yes. The game has many DLC already. BUT, to my knowledge the DLC Factions will be a NPC Faction for the Vanilla game. If you want to play them you have to buy them, so if you want to play with a specific Faction than you can choose just one DLC, as the others are all part of the game as NPC Factions.

it's only a three man team and the game of course have some bugs but I think it's still will be better than what electric art has given us right
I think it's time for Joe to return to this review, see if the additions to Gladius like the forementioned Chaos, Tau, Eldar, etc which are now in the game, and it just got its 1.9.3 patch not that long ago.

It had to be that long to realistically portray the overall lethality of the stock lasgun.
One thing that is weird I guess they where trying to play imperial guardsmen so why did the orkz shoot lasers and the imperial guard shoot normal bullets when in the lore the orkz can’t build laser guns while the imperial guard use lasguns

One of the main reasons why I love Angry Joe show compare to other Game review vids is their great acting performances and funny scripts. Love this man, keep it up!
You get a thumbs up just for giving us Warhammer 40k content. Honestly I'd give you a thumbs up for any Warhammer 40k content...even if it was just you reading lore like Wolf Lord Rho or even giving us a tabletop battle report, anything is awesome!

Well this is what early access games are all about on Steam. Most of the time it's passionate little studios instead of corporate ass hats altering a game for greed. They tried to jump on the MOBA gravy train with DOW3, when all they needed was to go back to the formula of DOW1. When they tried to attempt that after release, it was already too late.

Did you not watch the video? The AI gets hampered by the wildlife and wireweed . Turn those settings down (which I do anyway) and the AI performs much better.

The closest you'll probably get to a game of that is the apocalypse mod for dawn of War soulstorm be interesting if they decide to make an apocalypse game and they Total War way though they will have to add extra mechanics like an improved version of cover system I want to see Imperial guards in the trenches trying to defend off tyranids

Lord Commisar Angry Joe is now a canon figure in W40K.
I love this. Hope to see more smaller games get this kind of attention. Didn't know about this game but it looks great, and I love your idea for adding voices for the units. I just question the quality, given the size of the studio. Vocal talent can be costly, and bad voices would detract from the game.

their policy was basically "anyone can make a warhammer 40K game" and they would just latch onto the successful ones.
This is one of the best Angry Reviews I've ever seen. The prologue nicely sums up the experience of Imperial Guard players who play this game first time. Pros and cons of the game are really on point. Too bad it couldn't get more rate, but mostly understandable. Critics is not about making allowances for creators' situations but is about telling an honest impression.
To be fair about Joe's rating system though. A Joe 7 is more an 8 on most other reviewers scale. He actually botheres to differentiate between a 1 and 6 unlike others.

Why? AC4 literally came out free few months back on UPlay. And HZD is nearly an year old and has got its fair share of reviews. If you are still waiting for Joe's say on it, I don't know what to say. Atleast, if he reviews new good indies such as these, they get recognized for their potential. AAA already gets so much publicity. Good Indies need MORE
i got the platinum on both of this games, i wanted the reviews because these are games i wanted to see his opinions on, like assassins creed 3 he complained and them they made ac4 with everything he asked for, but he never reviewed then. And i agree with you, good indies needs to be recognized.
