Had alot of fun with this game 10 hours of pure chaos and gore, sometimes a great change from all these open world games that take 175 hours to complete

Bring back Duke Nukem as a boomer shooter, but continue from after Forever where he's the president. Also, a Redneck Rampage reboot could work as one, and hopefully this time the game would actually be good.

I never played old school shooters like this when I was younger, except trying and failing to beat the first duke nukem level when I was like 10 but all these awesome boomer shooters coming out makes me want to get into them
The game is gorgeous, fun and Warhammer 40k related! What more can you wish for from a video game? ;p Too bad you didn't know about the taunting, i kept using it before every single battle hah
@@CWarrreni played it through on xbox (series x), didn't have crashes, maybe try completely restart that level from the level selector, i know it's gonna be a pain in the ass because that fight goes for waaaaay too long and losing your progress is not gonna be a good time but that's my one and only idea
@@MattPapp yeah I know its a rare issue, so that’s why I still agree the game is still top tier, but I’ve tried redoing the level and even the entire game! Still same problem but eh, starting a new PC play through so hopefully it’ll be different this time 😂

My only real criticism of the game is never getting an upgrade to your chainsword. You just take too much damage using it relative to it's effectiveness. It really does harken back to everything that was great about the OG Doom and similar games.
While a valid criticism that I also share (the influence of Khorne is potent in this game), this can be explained away by the lore. Big-dick Malum here is a firstborn veteran of the Sternguard, which is a unit that prioritizes dakka over bonk. The silver lining though is that one of the secrets you can find is a powerup that significantly boosts your chainsword damage, which I used to finish off the _third_ Lord of Change.
Old school Doom style shooters are still so fun and satisfying no matter what year they dropped in. I'm glad Warhammer got some love in that department and I implore everybody to check out all kinds of Doom mods and other spinoff titles because there's plenty inspired by other games as well.
It is a good game but it has flaws. Level design is very basic, it is quite short and has next to no replay ability and the boss battles/arenas are just a pain in the arse with constant respawning bad guys meaning your best just going straight for the mini boss/boss and ignoring everything else. The greater daemons are also a joke as you kill loads of them which isnt exactly giving the impression of them being next to gods in power level just bullet sponge chaff. it is a 7/10 maybe 8 if you are a 40k nerd.
For the chainsword to do proper damage you have to keep pressing the melee button, single hits aren’t that useful. Stronger enemies will swipe at you after a while though so watch out for that
I’m not finished, but this is my favorite game of 2023, I might be crazy, but I know perfection-at-launch when I see it. EDIT: NOPE, best shooter of the year, but Baldur’s Gate 3 proved me SO WRONG!
I’m so happy with all these 40k games the past few years Space Marine 2 is gonna be the cherry on top I hope Henry Cavil got a line or two as an Easter egg.

Warhammer video games are getting better and better lately I was a huge fan of Mechanicus as and they are my army that I paint and definitely going to buy this one too, also I know Sigmar stormgrounds got a mixed reception but I really like it, I love that they mix up the genres. Great review!
Man, this game is so RIDICULOUSLY fun, it should be illegal. I had a smile on my face running around pressing triangle to taunt every single pitiful heretic that crossed my path, only then to obliterate their flesh with my boltgun.
this game is a 10/10 in the first two chapters but the third chapter is beyond awful so ill leave it at a 8/10 because the game is fucking amazing but the level design in the late game is horrendous. Also i did watch the crew playing this game and they missed some features for not reading chat but i guess its ok

Only thing i feel lacking is the music. And no maps. I play the game with music off, but i play darktide warhammer 40 k music instead on the background
When you hit with the chainsword button mash to rev the sword and it will continue cutting into the target instead of just slapping them with the sword

That's not just ya boi being an ultramarine either. The game takes place on Graia, so he's quite literally continuing what Titus began.
