My neighbor down the road has one. And it still run's and drive's good.
Military Design. Makes sense now.
Functionality perfect.
Not something that would ever kiss the pages of history. Not surprised it started as a vehicle for the Air borne. Would have made WWII and D-Day much more interesting.
Loving these history lessons about one of my favorite hobbies!!! Keep them coming as well as the other RED BEARD GARAGE videos.
Thank you for showing this series about Max Torque.
This will definitely be my go to clutch from now on.
I absolutely loved this history lesson! Thanks RBG!
The army wanted to use and had mini bikes built? That’s awesome.
Nice history lesson. Something different, I liked it.
Dad bought me one about 1960. I think I put a million miles on it🤣 Thanks for the memories!
That is awesome!
I can't say enough how much I like this guy and his company! Stuff like this is how you earn a customer for life!
Thanks again for posting this!!!!
Thank you sir for the video. Not only a history lesson, but great info. Be safe. Peace.

It's cool to know some history on these thanks for sharing
Cool story. I was aware of the history related to these. But was unaware of all the information. Very enjoyable.
That was super interesting would have liked to have seen some old original Doodle bugs....
Loved the video and history lesson. Thanks!
My first time commenting on youtube , thank you this is great , had no idea of the history of this thing . My dad bought me one in 1956 , didn't last long , I broke it right away . Anyway thanks for the trip down memory lane .
Thank you for this knowledge.I'm a history buff, and didn't know about this.I'd seen a Doodlebug before, but had no idea of their origins.
Love seeing the history behind it all 🤘🏻
You should
I had the remnants of one of these minibikes way back in the late 60's. Only the frame and front fender were original, everything else was either missing (ex.no brakes)or replaced. For $30, it got me around the neighborhood without pedaling. Along my old paper route there was a complete(?) original bike that was always kept inside someone's garage. It was eventually purchased by a neighbor, but I remember that the bike had some mechanical issues and didn't run right.
Jeff your killing me with this stuff, super cool.
Wow......... Great History lesson. Thanks Greg..... Weav
That was excellent. Thanks
Love your guys show!
trying to find out about a fella named KEN BOHN he liked and doodle bugs. nice guy !! thanks.
Pretty cool history!
Cool history lesson
Awesome!
You need to build a adult size
Doodle Bug Mini Bike with a 420 or a 670 on it.
My dad, George C. Fields, founder of Max Torque designed a torque converter in the early sixties and sold a few, I believe. The test mule for it was an original Doodlebug with a modified frame which dropped the rear of the frame and replaced the rectangular seat with a saddle. He called it the PDQ 40. My son has it now but it’s pretty much a basket of parts.
Do you have any pictures of it?
My neighbor has one. They are pretty cool!
We need more .
Surprised i haven't seen one at the air force museum at wright patterson
Cool video 👌 Greg
Would love to have a vintage doodle bug (Lil Hiawatha)

Really interesting! I’m going to keep my eye out for one now, it would be sweet to drop a 212 in the older versions

I have a Baja doodle bug db30 can someone please tell me the year they were made
I had one in 1954-55
The other engine for the Doodle Bug was the Clinton, not Tecumseh.
You are absolutely correct, it was a Clinton 1 1/2 hp engine. I didn't catch my error since it was a spare of the moment interview. Jim Donovan / Max-Torque.
Sadly Max Torque dont make 1in clutches
RBG please get back to build content. We miss it
We have a lot coming next week sir.
@@RedBeardsGarage Awesome! I always look forward to those notifications for a new RBG video. Been watching you guys since the beginning.
I lear mor tha at school

Would have been more enjoyable without the annoying background music so loud, or preferably not at all.
You need to build a adult size
Doodle Bug Mini Bike with a 420 or a 670 on it.
Phillip Mountain Man ,,,,you put those in the small doodlebugs that’s the whole idea......
