Bedankt, 5 maand geleden zitten kloten en de brui er aan gegeven. Ga het nu dankzij jou video uitvoeren. Goede tip om de sparkplugs er met een darmpje in te zetten.

Just changed sparkplugs on my Hornet. Thank you for all the videos, was a great help to do all the stuff there. If you will get your hands on that Hornet again it will be great to see an installation of throttle cables, if the owner will need that of course. 😃 Great job & all the best regards ! ✌️🏍️

Really nice to see you using proper hand tools, not the lazy impact drivers (which might only be good for undoing).
I see you do really enjoy your wrench-turning. I too. However I am insistent on never wearing any rings, wedding or signet or chains. Also, remove all metal strapped watches and bracelets. It's so easy to accidentally scratch nice paintwork, anodizing or powder coated surfaces.
    👍👍

Hello old mechanic. Thank you for amazing videos. I am from Greece and I have tha same motorcycle, τhe Honda CB600FA hornet. According to service manual you must check the valve clearance every 2 years or 24.000 km. I think the same goes for the CB600rr since they have the same engine. But from what I saw in your videos you did not check the valve clearance in either. It would be very useful to show us how to adjust the valves since it is a job that must be done quite often and costs a lot of money.

Hello Manolis, I know from my expirience that valve clearance isn't out of spec for the first 50-60 thousand km. Thats due to the sim system so to speak. In the 'old' days when we still had the valve clearance and those adjuster screws, they needed to be adjusted often. But these days as I said with the sims, thats often a waist of time to check them.
BUT IF you like to check them please do so. What I allways do is warm up the engine up to working temp, and then use my Stethoscoop and listen if I can hear the valves making a louder noise then normal. If thats the case then I start to open the it and adjust the valves.

@@TheOldMechanic Thank you Old Mechanic. I strongly believe that you should check the valve clearance more often because the Hornet and CBR engine is running at high rpms. I think that It is essential for the long life and reliability of the engine. If the time comes for the valves to make noise then it may be too late. So this is my opinion.

My young mechanic tells me otherwise. If the valves do not make noise, don't bother. If your hear a different sound, make the adjustments. It is good for my both bikes: ST1300 and 600 CBF. Of course, if you hear the valves and let it go for a long time, you are in trouble, you are right.@@gelasak1

If the engineers only once did the replacement job themselves, they would never design it like this. All sparks should be easy accessible. Without being obstructed by cable and hose clutter. Mine just got back from workplace for this job. I expected them to install iridium sparks, but they used the regular once that only last for 24000 km. Workshop argues iridiums are too expensive. But charging me 2 working hours. Spark plug cost is fraction of total labor cost. And iridiums last at least twice as long! Really hate them for installing inferior material.

Hi Animal..The two red torque wrenches I have are from the brand Teng Tools, one goes from 5 -25 Nm. the other Teng Tool goes from 19 - 110 Nm, and I have one that goes from 28 - 210 Nm. I have also a digital torque wrench from the brand Facom that one goes from 6.7 - 135 Nm it has 10 orso memory settings. Greetz from The Old Mechanic 👨‍🔧

Thank you. It’s the small Teng 5 to 25nm that I’m interested in. Great videos

@@animallector4982 I allready have it for several years and its still working flawless, so buying a Teng Tools torque wrench is a good choice !

I have a 900F. The engine is taller. One spark plug is so close to the square frame it cannot be removed. Likely the engine must be lowered to remove it. So I just changed three.

Hi Joseph I look into that for you. Changing just 3 sparkplugs is never a good idea mate !

Hi I looked it up for you. I only have the service manual from a 2002/2003 model.
And you could take them out normaly, without removing any frame parts or engine.
