You're a very "by the book" mechanic which is great for instructional videos. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, +1 for Castrol being the best oil. I use the Edge high mileage in my J37 to slow down the oil burning and it works great better than when i use to use Amsoil Signature Series engine.
==== Hi, I have owned several Hondas myself and they have always performed well. Except for a CB750F2 (bought new in uhhh 1975 or something) that ran completely into the soup during a holiday in the south of France. Turned out to be a broken valve, which hammered a hole in the piston in a few seconds. The engine had only run 30,000 km and at the time only had a six-month warranty (!). You can only hit it ;-) Greetings from The Old Mechanic.
Hi Jan, perhaps you are right, if you are The hulk.. But I am not..lolll So I just use the tools for it, and you need the tool anyway to torque the oilfilter to 26 Nm
Unfortunatly I am allready busy on a new hobby project. The next time I will do make a video about a coolant change as a lot of people asked me to do that.. Greets from The Old Mechanic

Hi Radu Thanks for your reply, For this bike a cooling liquid change is still on my list. My next video is about changing the sparkplugs. I hope that you are going to like to watch that too. Greets from The Netherlands.
Hi Jan, if you are in a hurry, then thats the way to go. But if you got plenty of time to allow the oil to drip out then you can drain the oil while its cold, because it will flow to the lowest part of the engine anyway.
Hello! Can You say more about using kill switch? Why in some motorcycles is important to shut down the motorbike by the key and is it necessary to do it in Hornet PC41?
Hi there, i have PC41 from 2008. I found on the web some specifications where is written that the oil is a 10W-30 and i'm preparing to put that viscosity. What do you think about that? Thanks!
on the motorstand the bike leans a tiny bit to the front, so thats also visable in the oil glass. But you have to be aware of that when filling the oil. Greets from: The Old Mechanic

Hello, have you any other recommended oil? In my country i cannoy buy RS fully synthetic version, i can order it but is expensive as hell. I'm curious about your opinion for Motul 7100 full synthetic 10w40 or Motul 300V full synthetic 10w40? Greetz from Poland
Hi Inetpub, I personaly NEVER use full synthetic oil, because the chance could be that your clutch plates might become simply to slippery. And there is a chance they got burned. The Castrol I have been using now for years is the Power RS 10W40 and thats according to Castrol with synthetic components in the oil. So the best of both worlds.
@@TheOldMechanic thank you for answer! Saddly i cannot find that oil in my country auctions, the only i see its Castrol Power 1 10w40 4T semi synthetic, which i belive is way different oil than Power RS. So now i am considering Castrol Power 1 10w40 4t or Motul 5100 10w40 which is also semi synthetic but theres so many fake motuls on our market that i think i would buy castrol at the end. Hiflo filter of course and a copper washer :)

Cheers thks for sharing

How long does the oil in the bottle last?
I have one from ~2019 (still sealed), can I still use it?
No problem 😉

you do not heat the motorcycle before changing the oil so that it flew better?

Hello! Can You say more about using kill switch? Why in some motorcycles is important to shut down the motorbike by the key and is it necessary to do it in Hornet PC41?
Kill switch is same as key - don't matter how you turn the engine off, providing it's not in mid-air! Don't matter whether you use red switch or key.
change the oil every how many km? 5000?
