That’s a great idea! I honestly don’t mind the “empty space” too much on mine
I love the altimeter speedometer too. That's my favorite feature of the 9-5. I'm glad to know I'm not crazy.

For anyone thinking of trying this, the monochrome cluster has pretty much all the same features, including the altimeter display. It's also the bright green that is everywhere in Saabs, so IMO it matches better with the ICM and SID displays. They're also much cheaper and easier to find. I couldn't for the life of me find a multicolor cluster so if you can't find one either, you won't miss out on much if you do the monochrome.
The monochrome ones are waaay easier to find like you said. It was hard for me to find this multicolor one

I also didn’t realize that you could get the multi-color for a 9-5. I’ve only ever seen the monochrome color for the 9-5s.
They monochrome are much easier to find unfortunately, but both are awesome!

Hi! I am a long time watcher of your channel and i absolutely love the content. There really aren't many good saab related videos out there. As far as the bulb is concerned, SMD stands for surface mount device. It is essentially a normal led bulb designed to take up less space when soldered to a circuit board. The replacement would cost a couple cents, but figuring out exactly what type you need (voltage and current rating) is a bit tricky. The soldering is also a bit tedious, but doable. If you want, we can hop on a call and i can guide you through the process, or you could even send the cluster to me and i can replace it (for free of course, it would be an honor to contribute to the channel). You would just have to pay for the shipping.

This is next level tunning...i sill have yonke 9-3 vector 2003 and cadillac bls (build like saab) parked all year long....
Time to get the running and back on the road!
It's very simple to get air pressure sensors installed into your car you just take out your normal plug put in the sensor itself and then there's a module you buy that you connect to the CPU and then you can go to like Belle tire or something and they can pair them together to send the signal to your dash

You're in luck as Electronics is my day job
LED's are LEDs they all work basically the same the colour and the packaging is what makes them different.
LED stands for, light emitting diode. They are a diode that conducts when forward biased and produce light.
The don't work if you connect them back to front.
The Volts drop across it varies with Colour which is only really a concern if you are calculating current limit resistor values.
which if you are replacing like for like will already have been done.
So don't know the 95 dash specifically but, as you flashed up on the screen SMD (Surface Mount Device) LED. Basically you can buy those for pennies on auction sites but you will need either a really good soldering station and exceptional soldering skill or, if not a pair of SMT heated tweezers, some rework flux and big cojones. As they are more than likely soldered directly to the PCB in the gauge cluster. Sorry but you're basically going to had to take the cluster out to take it apart to see what leds you have. Take so pictures note the physical size and google for a match then go buy some

Very similar to a Cadillac SRX guage cluster. Maybe look for bulbs for one of those.

It looks cool but why did you have a motor error code indication?
It’s an O2 sensor problem I have not have time to diagnose and fix. It doesn’t affect drivability
@@AutoAutopsy I sold my Saab 9-3 2006 1.9 TDi Linear model in the end of May. do you often see the basic Linear models in Nevada? I've had the car since 2018.
So much joy and a very good car.
Now I have a yellow 1998 cabriolet.
Saab is one of it's kind.
I wonder if the conversion works on a 2003 9-5 aero I got too look into it
It currently only works for 03-06 9-3’s unfortunately

Unfortunately new won’t work. It has to be a new one that has been previously programmed - OR if you buy new, you can marry it to a 9-5 and then use it in your car

Where can I purchase an NG 95 dashboard display? My Saab is 2009 95.

Just kidding, I seriously doubt that it would be “that easy” and that you could that thing to where it would mimic a DIM (Drivers Information Module) and then translate that info to signals for that Saab cluster. Furthermore the R cluster would suit my car better and is already a gorgeous piece.
The R clusters in the Volvos are so cool…can’t go wrong with that! 😎

What I read you'll lose some of the warnings such as "low coolant" warning when installing that one. Also eSid won't work.
Will keep my NG9-5 MY2011 and NG9-3CV MY2007 as they are. But yeah, they both have Android audio units 😁
The low coolant warning is stored in the SID, so you do not lose that feature. you can pair it with an esid without any issues. Sorry, not sure where you heard both of those but they aren’t true 😅👍🏼
You probably read the Saabplanet article? They unfortunately focus on all issues that would come if installing this in a 2007-2012. This is designed for 2003-2006 and works great on these cars! All functions work and eSID of course
I could not help but be distracted by those clear tabs that remained unpainted.....Usually you are quite fussy about details.....................
The clear tabs personally don’t bother me at all. I think painting them would make them stand out more!

It only works on model year 03-06 with this style interior 👍🏼
