For those wondering, for an automatic car, you need to use a different manufacturer, for loom etc.
The units linked will work but if you have flappy paddles, or use the stick to auto shift, when you change up and down the unit volume will also change.
I asked on three videos but no Answer, so I called the distributor, and that's the information from them.
Hope that helps those like me that were confused :)

I also have an Automatic 93. What is the manufacturer of this loom, I guess not Connects 2?

Odd that the sunroof was rare over there.
I have yet to see one in the states without, even the base model NG9-3's.
Love seeing the 05 Aero rims on the facelift though! Nice looks.

Mostly see them missing on the 08+ from what I've seen. Have seen a few poverty spec 03-05 here without sunroof, heated seats and with 15" wheels. Few and far between though.

Same here (Oz). Sunroofs are not universal here. I think that some of the cheaper models and variants in the 1980s and 1990s didn't have them, but I could be completely wrong. All the Saabs I've owned going back to 1984 have had one. I've noticed some strange differences between Australian and UK cars. We went to England in 1989 and I drove my father's 1987 325i BMW. It only had electric windows in the front as an option where the Australian version had electric windows all round as standard. I converted my father to Saab and his 2000 9-3 SE manual had a wood-trim dash and wood trim around the doors. I don't think that we ever had the wood trim here. It's a UK thing. Up-market cars had wood trim. My Australian spec 2007 9-3 Aero has leather seats, dual zone climate control, electric sunroof, electric windows all round, bi-xenon headlights, electric front seats with memory for the driver's seat, all as standard. It has headlight washers but not wipers. My old 900 cars had the wipers. Marketing, I guess.

I think a lot of people on the fence about android units involves a lack of detail on how great the various apps can be from the android store in a car. One example would be the ability to say put plex on it and actually download video using the wifi sitting right outside your house for example. Or maybe connecting up a game controller with an emulator on it.. the offline google maps are something I think is really cool aka no need for a phone.... apps to hit up the OBD feature that might provide useful data... maybe even one that can look up a sensor code right there on the headunit with no need to pull out a phone... things like that. I don't know if that makes sense or not, but I do think a lot of videos fall short on this. There is such great value in the apps from the store.

@@SaabUnleashed I'm very much interested in this. I've been trying to find information, but all I've been able to find are ads and reviews of individual apps. I haven't been able to find anywhere that tells me how to use an Android head unit e.g. why do you need an internal sim, how do you link it to an ISP or phone company, how much data do you need to allow for, etc. How do e.g. off-line navigation apps compare with dedicated GPS/Satnav units? And so on ...

Good information! I don't own a Saab but the info in this video applies to most installations. As for the TPMS, it is possible to install them without taking the tires to a repair shop and it's not as difficult to do on your own as you might think: th-cam.com/video/yIWUz2UIKdw/w-d-xo.html Not mentioned in the video is that if you need help getting the tire to re-seal onto the rim, you can use a ratcheting tiedown strap around the circumference of the tire to squeeze the tire into the bead until it starts to take air effectively, then remove the strap and continue inflating.
Also, many cars already come with TPMS though you may not see any front end info unless there's an underinflated tire or a blowout. To see that stock TPMS info on your Android head unit, you can use something like an OBDII dongle and an app like Torque Pro that runs on the Android hardware (dongle + app is well under $50). Or, have a look at the Open Vehicle Monitoring System (OVMS) for TONS of info about your vehicle and the ability to read info remotely or even control the vehicle, such as remote start, climate control and so on. It's really cool! Current support is mainly electric vehicles, but you can read about it here: docs.openvehicles.com/en/latest/introduction.html

    • @SaabUnleashed

Slowness happens as apps get more sophisticated. Apps evolve over time to make use of the ever increasing specifications of phones and tablets. If you have an old Xtrons, it's probably starting to feel like it's slowing down because your apps are demanding more from it. As for DAB, sounds like it could be an antenna issue

I used the window DAB antenna in this video. Remember you can send that splitter back as its from amazon.

@@ged5288 The fakra connector in this video is for the standard FM antenna as usual. That splitter you have is not going to have different results going directly from Fakra to SMA

Xtrons 2gb, teyes cc plus or atoto f7?
    Stuck between these two

    • @SaabUnleashed
      @SaabUnleashed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The Teyes wins out of those. Also, the Atoto F7 isn't an Android head unit so you won't be able to install DAB (which you previously mentioned)
