So we had our first clutch hatched 6 days ago! All jades! AND my gold laid 3 more clutches in 2 weeks time! Now my purple had a beautiful clutch last night! We followed lavs methods precisely and having major success! Seeing others let their clutches sit in a water soaked towel makes me cringe lol. Thanks LAV you are the Snail Guru! And so sorry to hear about Harvey 😪
I don't float mines in the tank I just set it up on top of the tank. Sometimes it will float and get wet inside the tank, so I stop putting it in the tank and the hatching time is quicker.
Yesterday I woke up to discover that a snail had laid an eggsack ON TOP OF ANOTHER EGGSACK!! And the one on the bottom is just a few days away from being ready to hatch out. So now I am forced to remove and incubate the newer eggsack so the bottom eggsack can actually hatch out properly. There's another eggsack laid (the same night!) too close to the filter and the splash from the filter flow is keeping the eggs too wet - I'll be removing that one as well and incubating it with the other one. Silly snails! I've also started noticing the ramshorns in the tank sometimes lay their eggsacks on the shells of my mystery snails! LOL! I hope that's harmless, I am not keen to scrape them off if I don't have to.
I've had one snail for a few months and recently added 2 more. Once I did, to no real surprise, we started seeing egg clutches. From what I can tell it's just one of the snails laying eggs, I'd seen her in the process a couple of times. Can it be harmful for her to lay eggs too frequently? It's happening every couple of days. I suppose if I separate all 3 to their own tanks for a bit, I can have an easier time identifying their genders. Two of them have darker bodies and it's wayyy harder for me to tell at this time.
You have a great helper there! :) My clutches always hatched some baby snails, but they don't seem to survive. I've had a good dozen of them over the past few months and I do not see any small mystery snails at all. I don't think anything in the tank is eating them though. I think I need to get some more of them too. Are you going to have any purples or golden any time soon? Thanks for the video!
She is the bestest helper! Bummer about your babies, perhaps my baby snail care video may help a little? They have such a high mortality rate, it's depressing. Try and try again. And YES just a couple more weeks for purples and golds(all other colors too). They are approaching travel size quickly! Thank you for all your support Riko! & I Probably should mention, I lurk on your streams a lot lol love them!♡♡ keep up all the amazing work you do!!
@@LavsSnails I'll go back and watch the video again and thanks for watching too! Drop a hi every once in a while. I'd love to know you are watching, even if you don't feel like chatting. :)
@@RikoStan I will say hi next time! instead of being weird and lurking 🤣. And the baby snail video may or may not help, but it may give you added comfort that....they die. A lot. And it was probably just nature doing its thang. Lol 😆♥️🐌 thanks again!

How often do you open the incubator?
Everyday I check it and switch out the top paper towel at that time if it is really wet.
I have a mesh breeder box. Will this work okay? Or should I get the plastic one?
Hi can you tell me the process after this once they start to hatch, when do you move to a tank
