I have a Grannas Racing T56 kit in my Supra (legit love it) and Joel put me in touch with the shop that built my car. Super nice guy and the community is better for his presence. Thank you TRC for this feature!
Love this video. Your relationship with your sons reminds me of me and my father. He bought a 95 Supra long ago and we built it up together and he passed it down to me.
This was honestly the best put together video from yall I literally felt like I was watching a movie/documentary. A lot of us spending time working more then spending time with family feel your pain 😢 life’s is the ultimate sacrifice.
Followed him since the beginning of the white car. Have a few videos of the car from then. Been a fan a really set my long term goals. Got to buy a t56 from him when he was more local. Great guy and has really pushed the manual game.
Dude, love the content! One of TH-cam’s most underrated channels. Following from Sweden and this channel is one of the reasons me and my 11y old is coming over for Sick Week 2025. Thx for all the videos and the inspiration they give (us) ✌️
Love how you keep it h pattern. To see this thing in action at mir is more than insane! Think my buddy bought a blue mustang from ya. Some fast cars coming out of pa. Keep up the great work man 💪
All these guys are legends in their own way. What they tent in common is they are very hard workers ,that undying passion, and they are just great human beings.
I was already a huge fan and love this car. But man this video just made me a even bigger fan. Always love watching this car rip down the track in Maryland at MIR. This car is one of the main reasons I've loved going to MIR for years.
Joel u are a good man! I'm honored to have done business with you. This story reminds me so much of my Pikes Peak days. Kudos to u and your family, enjoy the moment.
my first car was a 91 300zx fairlady z tt, never really went past stock other then minor mods. Now im a 2j fanatic aswell! I love how our stories are so similar
Grannis and Calvo have one main thing in common... they both started with Z32 300zx's. I have a 300zx now... and a MK4 SUPRA, and 2 FD RX-7 ...and a MR2.
@pawg206 has he dreamed up some technicality to try and shoe himself in to someone else's glory? Suppose fake it till you make it still works for some. Who's the cheerleader now 😂
Most of the time i stop watching the video after 10-15 minutes but this video bro, I watch it all 30min continuously, really it’s touching every car guy heart. Thank you very much to do this kind of video that telling a story of success
Haven’t finished the video yet but when he brought up darin from double d and Ryan woon all the wotm supras were sick back in the day still never forget the pov video inside Ryan’s Supra and the steering begins I love these storyssss
My dream is to get my Supra done one day and drive it again. It was me and my ladies first family car we got with our 2 daughters. It's a 1991 Supra. I got it as a naturally aspirated automatic transmission car for $3,600. It wasn't nothing special, but it's my family car I want to drive again with my family and see my dad smile for getting it done; he's into cars - it's why I am as well. It's truly special to me, but I'm at the point I simply need help. I'm going 7 years into this car; roughly $15,000 invested. I got myself into a project that's way over my head, pay grade and know how. I got the car with the intent of 2JZ swapping... It just took off from there until I hit a wall a few years back. I got the engine and R154 with quite a bit of the other needed things, but it just sits tragically in the garage. It makes me happy and sad at the same time seeing peoples success stories. As I say to myself to get me through the day "One day I'll get it done". Thanks for the video TRC.
i'm from japan and i have grannas 17:09 swap kit on my drift car thanks to grannas i never broke tranny in the last 2 year i'm using it on my FDJ chaser keep the good quality
Can we please get more videos like this? Maybe one of Brett LaSala or Javier? This was shot so beautifully and it brought a tear to my eye, and really encapsulated how a passion through octane can bring families, friends, and everyone together.
This interview was great. Thanks. Did I see at 29:43 Mr Sam. The beauty of you content creators sharing all of this helps keeping the love for cars alive and gives to those who can’t leave their dream with cars a little taste of what it takes. Not necessarily all is peaches and cream for all. Success comes with sacrifices. Had a 87 supra myself and never really enjoyed it while in the service (it needed a ton of work and pretty much abandoned it). Wish had a way of locating the car, was in 98 last I had it. Now I have an E30 project car, so the love for manual and inline 6 still there
Famous last words. Could be possible. Can’t wait to see him change out that compound setup and go twins. I think that’s where the issue is. Compounds work great for lower rpm engines like diesels. Just not enough flow at 10,000rpm.
i remember watching tx2k 2021 with my brother on youtube the stick shift finals.. hes into v8s and im into i6's and hondas he was mind blown that a 2j beat grudge worm hahaha one of the best memory's
Did it happen on a full moon on the 4th Saturday of the pegan month of fire only using 12 psi of summer air in the tires and while whistling a fancy tune from 1923? Man...what a record to break....
LOL. I love the rose-colored glasses about C4 Corvettes being 330hp stock. Not unless it was a ZR1 or Grand Sport. Later ones (92-96) had 300hp with the LT1 but from 84-91 they had an L98 and made, at most, 250hp.
My buddy's dad built front engine dragsters and funny car chassis when I was growing up and I still remember sitting in a funny car at about 8 years old and feeling how cool it was. You never know what kind of an impact you cam make on a kid just by letting them sit in a car they think is cool.
6:15 lmao i was just like "Throw a t-56 in it" not knowing the timeline as a younger car guy. T-56 has just been the beans since iv been able to actually work on cars
Oh the car back to the single Turbo with nitrous will run a flat 6.5s easy and I think it will go a 6.4s and who knows if it will surpass that it wouldn't surprise me hell it wouldn't surprise me if it ran a 5 second quarter mile time one day!
I much prefer this kind of content.
Haven't skipped a second of it.

Grannas, Woon and SW were all I watched on TH-cam way back in the day. WOTM cars were nuts back then.
Totally agree
Videos like this keep my car dreams alive
Great video Joel. I remember when the white car was for sale and who could forget the SW supra!
Such a well put together video and amazing story. This is what the car culture is all about!

Gotta have a sit down with Devin Schultz and hear about the Red Demon now too

Loving these series you guys at TRC. Now we just need some more street racing back again
Dear God!! The way that car shot forward after the wheelie control clicked off was INCREDIBLE!! That set up for power was SO spot on. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
That beginning was awesome
What a stand up guy! Instantly became a fan of this team! Wish them much success in the future. Amazing accomplishment from him! Go Grannas racing!

Yea, that’s Mr. Sam he is a big Supra aficionado himself so no surprise that he is hanging around the fastest H-pattern Supra.
@@martindworak oh yeah, his supra is a beauty
I seen an automatic/ power glide supra do a 5.9 15+ years ago but to run 6s with a old H pattern is pretty impressive 💪🏼
