Il a fallu environ 53 ans pour construire le château de Versailles, sachant qu'il y avait déjà sur place un château construit depuis 50 ans, soit environ 1 siècle.😊

palace of Versailles didn't have toilets so visitors often squatted and peed and pooped wherever they could

Oh no, that's not true😂, that's a rumor from foreigners, but in reality, there are many toilets built in Versailles, which have now disappeared, which can be found traced in the old plans. These public latrines were located in several wings of the castle and allowed the numerous visitors to relieve themselves in complete peace and quiet. But the palace is vast and, to avoid accidents, Commode chairs were regularly placed behind screens in certain corridors. Which did not prevent His Majesty's subjects from forgetting themselves in corners or in the gardens - we tried to mask the smells by planting beds with powerful scents: hyacinths, daffodils, jasmine...

The French monarchy was destroyed in the 17th century, so how would it serve kings for 200 years 🤔

Because everyone say that the end of monarchy in France is in 1789 with the french revolution but it's wrong because during the 19th century, the dynasty of Napoleon still rules France as kings.

As for Napoleon Bonaparte, he was not a king but an emperor and the regime was not a monarchy, he changed a lot of rules, it was what we call the First Empire. You understood ?

Let's each lived just 50 years, that 150 years together, say 80 each and that's closer to 300, hell even if 60 years each that's 180 years.

The French monarchy was abolished in the 18th century not in the 17th century, when in 1792, the National Convention decreed the abolition of royalty. For the first time, there is a republic, that's why we say that. This decree puts an end to the long decadence of monarchical power that began in 1789. But it was subsequently reestablished shortly by Louis XVIII. Napoleon Bonaparte was not a king but an emperor and the regime was not a monarchy, he changed a lot of rules, it was what we call the First Empire. There have been six kings who lived in Versailles and not three, only in the meantime there was an Empire, however it has been a little over 200 years since the palace was occupied by kings. Napoleon III was never king, he was first the president of the republic, then he made a coup to become emperor directly. You understood ?😂
