I bought this a white version of this car in 2009 with navigation and a 3 years later sold it to a friend. It is almost 2021 and my friend got a new car and was only going to get $800 for it as a trade in. I gave them $3000 which was the high blue book value and very happy to have it back again. It drives like it did back in 2009.

@@marvin2678 Yeah, swapped out the Nav Computer with a cheap Apple CarPlay unit. 183K miles and get over 40 mpg on the freeway. CarPlay gave it new life for me.

@@junior17medval Thanks. Only 200K miles and my repairs are still low annually. Still working great in 2024. I think I might get a new paint job and re-tint the back window later this year.

Still loving my 09 Fit. 240k miles on it. Original clutch. 10 cupholders. Gobs of cargo space and versatility. Small exterior, big interior. Same windshield, original working stereo and speakers. Lots more to live than hate. In fact I am having trouble letting go. Lol

I hadn't driven one of these until I bought a used one for my son's 16th birthday gift recently. Ours has 112k miles on it and still feels well built and solid. A couple of comments. First, I think the car you drove has the wrong shift knob on it. Ours is the same year and trim and has a cool leather knob with blue stitching to match the trim on the seats. It looks to me like someone swapped it out for the plastic knob from a base car.
The other big thing you missed is the incredible cargo space in the car. The real innovation is that his little subcompact actually has much cargo space as many SUVs. There is great space behind the rear seats and the "magic seats" in the second row fold down completely flat and very very low. They can also have the bottom cushions folded up to rear, so that one can load tall items right on the floor boards of the car.
The car is much more fun around town than I expected it to be. It's geared a bit short and is noisy at freeway speeds, but that also comes with the territory. The ride is also a bit choppy, but to me it almost feels like an early Rabbit GTI in terms of handling. Oh, and the visibility out of the car with the huge windows is really great, especially for a beginning driver.

The shifter and trans are excellent, but it's probably loosened up a bit with 93k miles.

Not going to lie. I definitely hate not having a coolant temp guage. But the cup holders are amazing. I wish the gk had both but works for me. Not so much my wife. haha. Great little car. Got about 170k on mine. Stage 2+ will pull thirds all day. 😉

6:34 its not a base model, its the sport :D, the sport model came with a body kit, fog lights, the nicer aluminum wheels, a spoiler, exhaust tip, plus other miscellaneous things and on the auto, you get paddle shifters, my favorite part of the maual mode is it will let YOU shift, it will never shift for you unless you are slowing down and needs to, to not stall, but you can bang limiter all you want in any gear

I bought an automatic fit sport 09 with the paddle shifters 2 months ago. I hate not being able to see the coolant temp. The AC is pretty weak but the cargo and passenger room is on point. Had to change the CV axle yesterday because it snapped in 2! The car is from up north and it tends to corode in the middle of the axle at the dampener

These cars do have a few mechanical issues you need to watch out for. And the starters get noisy which is super annoying.
