Release Negativity, Let Go of What You No Longer Need | John Davisi | Guided Meditation

  • When we continue to hold on to thought patterns, beliefs, or emotions we no longer need, or no longer serve us, we don’t have the space to allow for what we need today. Anger, resentment, and fear are toxic to our bodies, hearts, and minds. They are not our natural or desired states of being. Yet we spend so much of our day consumed by them. They are the blocks to our hearts, our joy, our dreams. As counter-intuitive as it may seem to our brains, we need to let them go in order to be free. We need to put the weight down. In this session, we journey to do just that. I hope it serves you.

I found that putting a hand on my heart and concentrating on it gives an interesting side effect: it calms my breath even further, and it takes less effort to calm my breath (comparing to concentrating just on breath). It activates and supports the breath anchor kinda "for free". Consequently, it gives an additional relaxation (calming the parasympathetic nervous system).

That's great! I've always found the connection of my hand over my heart very therapeutic, especially during times of anxiety. I'm glad it helps you too. Thank you for sharing!

@Glendolyn Minxalyn It's okay, it still requires some mental efforts to clam.

I truly love your videos. Always full of such wisdom and kindness, acceptance and love, encouragement and peace. Thank you for this longer than usual guided meditation vid. I'm listening/meditating just before sleeping and your voice is incredibly soothing. Thank you so very much!
Another technique I've found to be quite effective by Thich Naht Hanh in his book "Peace is Every Step", is to repeat as you breathe in, "Breathe in I calm my body." And when you breathe out, repeat, "Breathe out I smile."
Smiling even when we don't feel like it relaxes our facial muscles and releases serotonin. So it has a calming effect even if not always obvious.
Praying for the peace and well being of all 💙🙏🏼

thank you for another awesome video. you making a video on this topic is amazing as it is something at the root of like all the issues ive gone through and perhaps the same for others. letting go and changing patterns (whatever type) is so critical for healing and mentioned a lot in various things but always in an "easier said than done" way. your meditation is a step to practice that and achieve it. a way to actually get there, feel the relief of letting go, instead of hey letting go is good go do that lol
    stay beautiful u superstar

Thank you so much for that share. Im so glad to hear that you found the tools valuable to help you move forward. I make these meditations because they speak to exactly what I need in the moment. And I trust it’s what others need as well. Keep going! 😊
