      Redblade Just because the mic on his camera is most likely broken, doesn't determine his profession. That's like calling Albert Einstein a fraud because the piece of chalk he uses to write theories down with, broke. Stop being ignorant.

    • @redblade43
      @redblade43 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Random Videos You are the one being ignorant and foolish, if his microphone is broken, like you say, then we would not be able to hear him at all - think about it!

    • @redblade43
      @redblade43 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are not stating a fact, you are guessing that he did not know about the Mic. Before you make a video to put on TH-cam, you make sure all you equipment is working properly. And if he is suppose to be a "professional", then this does reflect on his profession.

    Nice advice. I would add sometimes a speaker is bad but not totally blown. You may hear distortion when played loudly. This is usually caused by the voice coil rubbing. It will test ok with ohm meter and battery.
    To see if your voice coil is rubbing, set the speaker on a table and gently push in on the cone evenly and let it come back up slowly. Listen for a scraping noise. If you hear rubbing its bad.

    If you don't have a multimeter get one. Super handy around the house and car, will pay for itself in time. Try to get one with an "amp ring" at the top. Gives you the ability to check how much current is on a circuit.

    Pardon my ignorance on speaker basics - would like a tiny direction for my problem. I bought a 8inch 50 watt woofer (not sub woofer) about 15 years back, used it for few hours and it sounded good. I opened it today and connected it to my amplifier and it outputs too little volume. I gently pushed the cone and spider up, and the volume goes up and it vibrates well. How can I fix it? The spider feels hard... the soft rubber on the outer edge of the cone is soft/flexible...

    Leak speaker hasn't been used for some time, today tried using it and was ok for about 20mins then a loud bang. I've tested the speaker with the battery and it moves in and out like your video example however every time I test it with the battery it produces a burnt smell coming from the coil, is the speaker dead. The cone can move in and out ok with no rubbing sound being produced.

  • @jimil7169

    Sound for the vid, If it doesnt work like the first one, will it usually always be fixable with a recone? As that wire you were on about being burnt out, is that the voice coil? Which is part of the cone you'll get from the recone kit? New to all this jazz...

    The sound quality in my Volvo s70 -00 suddenly went down insanely much, the bass is atleast gone to about 70%, i have all stock speakers except 2 ground zero 8" on the rear deck and they've always played insanely well, bass has been plenty and music quality been top notch, ive played through Bluetooth and it has always worked great but this morning when i got into my car and connected my bluetooth and started playing music it was as if the speakers were on "Stereo" mode, very little bass and could barely hear anything when driving, and turning the sound up to 20 was ridicilously loud for whatever reason...
    Does anyone even have the slightest clue what the problem could be???

    Have a pair of KEF 104/2 and one speaker doesn't work. It won't 'Tone' for continuity. Will end up opening it up and doing a visual. Wondering if I test the crossover plus(+) minus(-), if it tones out then there is an 'Open' short somewhere. If the crossover doesn't 'Tone', then that's should be where the issue lies. Would I be correct? Anyone here reading this, any input is very much appreciated.

      Jepe I get 6 ohms on my 8 ohm woofer. Still works, it's just wear and tear over time. A speaker will never be as efficient as it used to be brand new. I would reckon you play with that speaker a little more (if it works) before you toss it out and replace it. it still has some life left too it.
