    Many thanks for this video! It gave me the sense of security to do this myself. I'm retired on a low fixed income. The savings made it affordable enough to fix my 2009 Mazda 3i Touring with 2L "G" engine. By the way, all details, in the video, EXACTLY matched my car. I do believe, from looking at the video, the mount itself is the same. In my model year, there is a big plastic panel, under the engine compartment, that has to be removed, before jacking the engine. Great video! Well made, directly to the point, easy to understand and concise, yet not omitting anything relevant.

    Hi, just changed one on a 2012 Mazda 3
    One of the nuts on the engine would not budge. Wound up removing the stud and cut off the nut.
    Unsure how often this occurs.
    Cheers from Australia

    If you have that top mount bad n come out in 2 pieces replace the other 2 they will be bad and worn out cusing engine to vibrate as you go foward.. On highway at 65 mph to 80 mph it will only do it on those mphrs .. I replaced all 3 and bearings cuz my bearings on hibs were bad .problem went away ..

    Excellent videos. I have a 2017 mazda, the lower transmission mount was damaged, I changed the upper one too. I bought it at an auto parts store and what I noticed is that the rubber looked quite hard, I don't know if that has to do with the fact that now when I turn it on I feel that the steering wheel vibrates a little but when I turn on the air conditioning it feels a lot. ,When I'm driving the car it feels good, that is, it doesn't vibrate. What can be? Could it be that the support I buy does not absorb vibrations?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the quality of mounts differ a lot between brands. Also the hardness of the rubber can vary as well. Harder rubber than factory will result in the vibrations you now feel. Additionally, there could be another mount failing as well.

    How do you know if the other mountd are bad? Should you just change all of them?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bad mounts will make vibration noises while driving or at idle. The easiest way to check other mounts is to have a buddy (or you) sit inside the car and start it up while the other person watches the engine. Then the person inside should cycle through the gears slowly. Go from P to R, then wait a moment, then from R to D. If the engine is moving (rocking back and forth) then you have other mounts that probably need to be replaced.
      In addition to this method above, you can also go back and forth from D to R. This will really show a bad lower mount if you have one if the engine is rocking back and forth a lot. Keep in mind the the engine will rock back and forth SLIGHTLY. However excessive movement usually means a mount is bad.
      Lastly using the same method above, shift into R and then WHILE HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL FIRMLY WITH YOUR LEFT FOOT. Apply some throttle with your right foot and see if the engine jumps up or moves. Try this again while in D also. If the engine jumps up or moves excessively then check the transmission mount and/or side engine mount.

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthor Castillo Hard to give you accurate information without actual hearing it for myself. How I test for a bad mount is to actually have someone watch the engine while someone inside cycles the car from drive to reverse slowly and watch how much the engine actually moves inside the engine bay. You can also apply the brake and gas pedal while in gear to see if the engine moves even more. PLEASE DO THIS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. This can be dangerous if you are not careful.

    I have a 2009 mazda 3 and I get a vibrating noise coming from passenger side when I go from stop to go than after I gain speed it stops . Was told it was the engine mounts but how can I be sure that's what is causing the noise ?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it vibrate loud while sitting a stop sign or light? If so it’s most likely the engine mounts. Which one it is you will have to look closely at them.
      A truck you can try is to start the car up and let it warm up to normal temp. Then put it in drive and listen for vibration. If none in drive then put it in reverse and listen for vibration or clunks.
      If you’re comfortable with it, have someone stand outside ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR and watch the engine. There shouldn’t be a whole bunch of engine movement. If the engine is physically moving around while you shift to park and drive excessively then a mount is for sure broken.

    • @urgeyobitch5821
      @urgeyobitch5821 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I had a friend show me that my engine moves around when pressing the gas and what not. But is that forsure what's causing the loud vibration when I accelerate?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely yes as the rubber has deteriorated and now the metal portion of the mount is rubbing on the metal part of the car body.
