I installed this with the Elite 1 fender eliminator. The Elite 1 gives you a license plate adjustable angle which is nice. Simple install. Great products. Plug and play is important to me. Have to buy the flasher relay but you can reach in by hand on the mins 650 and not go through the fairing removal that these guys did. Flash rate is set but you can adjust it. I slowed mine down a bit and it takes a couple flashes before it assumes the set flash rate from stock setting. No biggie. Bought Hepco Becker C-BOW saddlebag mounts. Cheap, tight to the body, not ugly, install is a breeze, and choice of several bags. I chose the Royster bags. Luggage system for about $500. Very sturdy.
For the 2022 z650, the tail light has plugs for the 2017+ and the 2020+. you just use the ones that work with your bike and can ignore/tape off the ones you're not using. I got the smoke for my 50th anniversary edition. Looks great. I'm working on installing the quadrix D sequential rear signals to go with it.
Thanks for the comment and update! We haven't been able to get a 2022+ model in-house to film updated videos but luckily we are aware of the differences in parts and install processes.
For the 2024 ninja 650 model do you need to buy the y harness even if your not useing the other turn signal lights, i heard that the ones that come with the kit doesnt work with the 2024 model
I plugged in my I regraded taillight, first I had A quick flash on bright then I push the button and had steady brake light flashers did work but had no Running late just steady brake light
You will need to contact our customer service department through our site with a clear description of what the symptom is that you are experiencing. It is tough to understand your description but it sounds like a simple issue of rear brake read switch floating around closed position. Our guys can help you solve this.
I would like to get this tail light and I am interested to know if I can keep my original turn signal fixtures which are fitted with LED bulbs and splice into the source power and have all of them working together . As I assume that all the intelligence of the tail light is integral; I also assume that if I have LED bulbs in my existing tail light fixtures that it will not be a problem . Please advise .
Yes, you can absolutely do that. We actually did that setup on the bike in the video at timestamp 9:29 ( th-cam.com/video/Xp_1HH1D5j8/w-d-xo.html ). We sell special Y-splitters for signal function that do not require splicing anything. You can see them here: tstindustries.com/tst-kawasaki-y-style-signal-harness-splitter.html
That bike does need the flash rate stabilized after changing front and/or rear signals to LEDs. If you don't already have an LED flasher relay on the bike i suggest installing one when you do the signals. -BR
I believe you are asking about the video for the fender eliminator....please correct me if I'm wrong. The Z650 is identical to Ninja 650 in parts and assembly procedure in regards to fender eliminator. We launched that part and video a while ago.
Those are standalone signal lamps. You can keep your OE tail light and use our BL6 signals for the signaling function. Your best bet is to check out our entire product offering for this bike, watch some of the videos and then choose the parts that fit your needs.
Would it still be possible to do integrated tail light/pods with the 2020 Z650? As we have a whole different wire harness, it’s a bullet connector converters. And I don’t think they make Y-Splitters for them.
We haven't made Y-splitters for this harness configuration yet so we don't currently offer a true pluggable solution to what you are requesting. That being said. The connection of signal leads from our tail light to our harness converters for the pod signals is pretty easy. Only the positive signal leads from tail light need to be connected because there is already a connected common ground on that circuit. So only two wires (green, brown) get connected to the yellow wires on the signal harness converters. You can hard wire, solder, or simply posi-tap with same connectors as we use on our license plate light setup.
@@TSTindustries okay cool! Thanks for the response! I haven’t ordered the pods yet as I notice the connections were different. But I think I’ll be good with the integrated rear light. Will replace the fronts later on.
Hello TST, I am from Brazil and I have a yamaha R6 2010, I have your flashlight, I would like to know how do I leave it in sequential mode ?! Thanks in advance!
If you are talking about our integrated tail light then you are out of luck my friend. That light was designed back in 2009, before we made computerized tail lights with sequential modes and programmability. The best we can do for you is a brake light modulator that will alter your brake mode patterns and can be adjusted. You can see it here: tstindustries.com/tst-brake-light-modulator-yamaha-suzuki-oem-tail-lights.html
In 2020 Kawi started using different connectors for the signals so we had to update the tail light. If you are on the website, go to the top and input your mak/model/year info and the correct version parts for your year will show up.
great videos as always. i have a question. their are two connectors under the passenger seat 1 with 4 pins and the other is 2 pins, what is the use of the one with 6 pins? thank you
I don't know exactly what plug you are talking about but I am assuming something that sits in a foam block and is not connected to anything. There are connectors in the seat compartment used for communications, diagnostics, and accessories.
Just installed my taillight on my 2019 ninja 650 and my turn signals work but my brake lights dont , what could be the problem . All lights stay on when I turn bike on.
I think that our customer service deparyment would be a better source of the solution you seek. We have people that will troubleshoot with you and get your setup straightened out.

is it possible to just have the small bars beside the LP be the turn signals? I kinda like the X design on the stock 650 brake light

Where is the flasher relay location for the 2020 z650
From our understanding it's on the opposite side of the steering neck. So left side instead of right side.
Not near the neck, behind side panel
You will find the info in this video th-cam.com/video/fjZM4yerQCg/w-d-xo.html
where can I get the cable splitter
