I would add a Thunderbox from Healtech- This will shut any devices off when you shut off the motorcycle without becoming an amateur electrician on wires that don't tolerate amateurs or connecting up electronics by splicing into wires controlled by your computer which will figure out they are there and not like it. It will also supply enough power for your $1500 pocket super computer as well as several other devices. Also run SAE connectors and not whatever garbage comes with whatever device you plan to hook up.
I'm in a weird camp... Only about $600 total investment used and BOUGHT as in I own it... SO... um... There almost isn't a mod on the market that's not worth (at least to me) more than I've got tied up in the bike! It's not a bad spot by any stretch... I can afford to put a BUNCH of miles on it, and a fair number of mods... keep most (not all) of the stock parts in boxes and still not lose too badly in a resale... Profit stays profit no matter how I get it. It's just a little bit weird. ;o)
from personal experience while i realise an exhaust system doesnt necessarily add value to a bike, as in if u put a 3k exhaust on a bike u wont get 3k back, it does make the bike slightly easier to sell. Personally, if im buying a second hand bike, i look for ones that have already have the mods i want like an exhaust. I wont buy a 2nd hand bike with a stock exhaust.
They do not necessarily add value, but when you do a mod. Keep the OEM parts when you sell the bike, put everything back on. Most people rather origino and do mods themselves.
As a new vintage bike owner, the only mods I'm doing are ones that keep it running. Aftermarket exhaust for sound and aesthetics? More like aftermarket exhaust because my exhaust from the 80s has a complete sever under the right foot peg and I'm basically straight piped lol.
I had Pirelli Scorpion II tyres on my Multistrada. Kind of an 85/15 on/off road tyre, they were excellent on road, little bit slippery off road though.
I use a Bridgestone 55/45 rear, and a 35/65 front and feel no difference on the road, but on the dirt it’s not a perfect tire, but does the job. Then again I ride an old enduro dual sport bike, so different game to other disciplines
ASV makes nice levers, I have them on my r1m. Love them. For cheap tires o sport bikes, I recommend the Shinko Stealths, super grippy once warmed up. But they are single compound so don't go doing burnouts with them.
I have to disagree about the windscreen. At least for a cruiser motorcycle. A good windscreen can make your riding experience so much more enjoyable, especially if you ride in a cool climate. Also, if you’re riding long distances, it can save a real beating on your chest by blocking a majority of the wind.
Had me worried for a second. I used to have orange shorty levers on my KTM RC back in the day, glad you recognise the exception where they actually become a required mod 🫡😂
I bought Shinko 777s for my cruiser, lol. Thats what the prior owner had, which seemed fine to me, so I bought them again. Nice, fat, WW tires that perform just fine, even during break in.
Yammie is going to bring back the midweight Supersport with all the new riders hese getting on the road. They'll soon graduate to 600s thank God for yobbie knob
Most. Most mods decrease value. Adventure bikes don't lose value when they have aftermarket crash bars and pannier racks when they don't come from the factory with them. Also maintenance mods generally may add a little value, some models have mechanically inferior parts that that model's community will have a well known fix for. If it's a lot of work, that will be a nice to have if a previous owner has done it especially if professionally installed. They may not add value, but they don't decrease value.
I need a guide for the boys who buy a early 90s Yeet missiles that have already been clapped out, (Finding compatible parts, retrofitting, maybe an led upgrade and some maintenance)
First thing I did to my bike was actually get vortex 3.0 adjustable levers because the stock ones didn’t fit right for me lol. After that I got a slip on leo Vince LV10 and a tail tidy. Oh and a gear indicator cuz I’m terrible at keeping track of the gear I’m in lmfao. Still have all the stock parts though just in case
The seat should be number one. Changing the seat can make a world of difference for the comfort of the bike. The first time I rode my new bike to work, with the stock seat, my ass was killing me all day. I couldn’t sit, I got tired super fast while standing, and walking around the shop was painfully hard. And I had to ride home again at the end of the day. 😭 I thought I had made a big mistake buying a bike, and I didn’t ride her again until I changed the seat. The Mustang seat I put on a few weeks later made a HUGE difference. I’ve put over 40K on my bike since then - same Mustang seat - and never had a back, butt or leg issue since that first time.
7:00 i bought them for my yamaha when my oryginal brake pump broke off and they're feeling better and are built better than the oryginal ones. A cluch lever, stock one were wobbing in every direction.
I bought a 2nd hand Yamaha xvs1100 as my first motorcycle. The previous owner already installed crashbars, sissybar and sidebag mounts. My first mods were sidebags, a sissybar bag and an airhorn. Sweet quality of life mods in my opinion.
I feel attacked. Just bought a VStar1300, looked at Michellin Commander II tires but then thought... man this Shinko's are so much cheaper... and yes on Amazon. All while I'm drinking a Mt. Dew. Haven't ordered them or anything, but just lining up what I need to do first, and what gear I want to get first. Even though I'm not a new rider, I haven't had a bike in years so I'm binging your videos.
"People want to buy stock bikes" exactly! I've always been eyeing Ural motorcycles, and I could no longer buy and import relatively unmolested and rebuilt used models since the war in Ukraine. All used Urals stateside are customized with aftermarket parts, and generally in no way able to be restored to a stock state easily. And then there's the MSRP for new models... It's all quite frustrating

I love my Shinkos, they’ve been a great tire so far.
Statement of the decade dropped ladies and gentlemen
“Your papa won’t do you dirty like that”🤣
Not gonna lie, didn’t realize how much I would miss the yamcast till I stopped seeing it show up 🥺
Stickers on the windshield are the hot setup where I live.
As a new vintage bike owner, the only mods I'm doing are ones that keep it running. Aftermarket exhaust for sound and aesthetics? More like aftermarket exhaust because my exhaust from the 80s has a complete sever under the right foot peg and I'm basically straight piped lol.
4:36- Literally me right now! How did you know?!
just my Akrapovic slip on but the 800 dollar one looks frkn amazing on my gsf bandit......and come on we need 5 more thousand people to see that Busa.
that turbo sound in the begining.... sheeesshhhhhhhhh turboo bussaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Dont listen to this, do whatever you want and put whatever you want onee your bike, after all it is your bike and not anyone elses
@@klo1679 i used the Dunlop D605 on my dual sport before I upgraded to a more aggressive offroad tyre.
First mod i got for my bike was new brake pads, tyres and braided brake lines
3:48 no one is gonna talk about how we just got told not to build an Oppressor MKII? XD Thanks Yammie
Seeing as there only seems to be merch on the website, im guessing something happened
hehe the Qld licence plate, nice to see my home state in aus represented
‘Yosemite Yam’ was the best part of this video…
I'm doing my part! 👍
My very 1st mod is changing the horn for a bicycle bell. 2nd i like to add one of those clown honkers. Lol im kidding
Yammie is going to bring back the midweight Supersport with all the new riders hese getting on the road. They'll soon graduate to 600s thank God for yobbie knob
4:40 OH BOY IT ME
I have already broken a few of these rules …. RIM tape ….. is one 🤦
imho tires should be the first. Doesn't matter of car, or bike, or bicycle. Good tires are paramount.
They may not add value, but they don't decrease value.
next one pro modds
1. lights fixt whith tape
2. foodpacks
3."wrong" tiers
4. fighting marks all ofer that thing
5. yes it is a supermoto
*Comments* on this channel are always *so damn good*
Fook yeah!! ORANGE, WE ALL NEED MORE ORANGE!!! Yeah! Yammie. More orange.
The first mod I did was tear off the exhaust and it saved my life
I need a guide for the boys who buy a early 90s Yeet missiles that have already been clapped out, (Finding compatible parts, retrofitting, maybe an led upgrade and some maintenance)
I thought I had made a big mistake buying a bike, and I didn’t ride her again until I changed the seat. The Mustang seat I put on a few weeks later made a HUGE difference. I’ve put over 40K on my bike since then - same Mustang seat - and never had a back, butt or leg issue since that first time.
Most newer full exhaust systems. Do not need tuned unless you run with the baffle out. Hell a booster plug will even increase fuel by 6%
That exhaust ain't no lie😂😂😂 just slapped one on today
The KTM part tho😆😆
I always love that mountain dew story.
7:00 i bought them for my yamaha when my oryginal brake pump broke off and they're feeling better and are built better than the oryginal ones. A cluch lever, stock one were wobbing in every direction.
The only mod i did on my bike is just bar end light, and dang is so cool...
I bought a 2nd hand Yamaha xvs1100 as my first motorcycle. The previous owner already installed crashbars, sissybar and sidebag mounts. My first mods were sidebags, a sissybar bag and an airhorn. Sweet quality of life mods in my opinion.
But……my rim tape looks glorious!!! 😁👍
*no longer a beginner*
Ha! Yammie, there a full exhaust sitting in the box waiting for me to install on my 900
I feel attacked.
Love the fact at the end. Awesome 😎
Could cowboy Yammie do an entire video once? 😂
Whoops. I did the Noob thing and bought the full exhaust pipe and muffler. Damnit. Especially on the Honda grom clone 😂But it sounds good.
I died when your said "smooth brain mod" 🤣
I'm really trying to wait and be your 1 millionth subscriber.
Great tips, thanks for posting!! 🔥💪
