  • Tried out the Bafang BBS02 on my hardtail. It was so awesome I swapped it to used Specialized enduro frame. Quick walk thru on the set up.

Glad I found this video. I'm in the middle of doing an ebike conversion with a very similar frame and was wondering about the battery placement. Thanks for posting.

@@terryquan9052 I do have a question. Did you use a spacer on the drive side of the motor ? My motor rubs on the swing arm so I think I need to put a few spacers on there.

@@themanofNeil I used a very thin spacer. I bought a pack of bottom bracket spacers in various thickness on amazon. I also put the swing pivot bolt in the other way. The head is thinner so I put it on the drive side. The nut is on the other side now for that pivot. I was able to get it closer that way. Almost didn’t need a spacer but wanted air gap.

Nice job. I have the 36v 500 watt version of that motor and even that feels really torquey. I think the 750 watt would be perfect for a full suspension. Was waiting to see you take it for a ride!

Thanks! For regular pedal assist riding I’m sure the 36v 500 watt is strong enough. The 750 is pretty strong and couldn’t see needing more. I did some upgrades to the bike and will have a ride video up soon.

Thanks for the video. Bike looks great. I’m thinking of doing the same to my bike and your setup appears to be perfect for it. I got a used Turner 5 spot small frame. I was thinking to get the bafang bbs02 42T 500w and a 48v 13a battery. This is my first conversion so I’d appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thanks again!

Appreciate the compliment. Thank you. Unless you are restricted for power I would just get the BBS02 with the 750w. They have some offset 42t chainrings on aliexpress that would be perfect. I probably willl go to 42t after this 40t wears out. I have a 11-46 cassette and it’s really strong in the lower gears.

Where did you find the battery bag?

Would be much better with a torque sensing motor
