I use my Enduro bike for almost everything, it's 180 up front and 170 rear travel. A real good compromise between Trail and DH and lets you do 'normal' riding with ease too.
I run a 170/150 enduro/all mountain setup for everything. It’s a decent compromise and lets me ride to the best of my ability while descending without risking bending my cranks or the damper rod in my fork like on my old “xc” hardtail (120mm up front on that bike)
Currently looking to buy an enduro, just want something I can hut anything amand also go to the shop. What are you all riding enduro wise and what are you riding on them. thanks
Cool video but wish the people you talked to were asked more specifically about their bikes like what they dont like or do like or what they want to upgrade/change etc!
Reason for fewer YT’s is their supply issues to the UK. Was looking to upgrade my 2018 Capra to a 2022/23 one but no stock anywhere. Ended up going for a nukeproof instead so makes sense with your results!
I personally prefer a 27.5 or a mixed wheel size, having a 29er for close to 2 years, I’ve established that 29ers aren’t for me as I have gone through 6 rear wheels and managed to bend every single one of them within 2 weeks and I have ridden 27.5 bikes which I feel are easier to throw about and despite riding them just as hard if not harder than a 29er I’ve never bent a wheel so my next bike will be a 27.5
Agree... Smaller sizes are more playfull and allow you to get a better feel for whats goin on.. I get that lost unconnected feeling from 29s.. To me 29 is too big and cumbersome for anything other than knarly pointing down..
Interesting, I live in NZ where there are plenty of bike parks and you don't see that many downhill bikes at all, most people ride trail or enduro bikes, personally I ride a 120mm 29er, and it handles the bike parks just fine, in fact I don't think I'm any slower on it than I was on my previous bike, a trek slash.
Dyfi's definitely on the more extreme end of bike parks here in the UK so you definitely see a lot more DH bikes compared to a more rounded bike park like bike park Wales
That's my lime green Whyte 150mm 29"er at 00:07-00:10 hanging on the bike rack. I rode that in the morning & demoed the Atherton DH bike in the afternoon. I couldn't really say which was more fun because the demo bike was Dan Atherton's & as well as his bike being a size too big for me his pro suspension set up didn't work for (amateur) me at all, but was still fantastic to try it out!
Shouldn't Saracen have been listed as a brand then? 🤔 I'm actually surprised that Canyon wasn't very present. Would be different here in the central EU bikeparks I think.
It is a small Finnish brand so it is not so widely known. Like the idea of fully CNC machined frame as it is probably more long lasting than welded one and high pivot design is also nice but otherwise seems that they try to do a bit too much on a different way than other brands. Pricing is also really high compared to other brand, which is obvious due to unique frame and small production numbers.
Down here in southern California most of the mountain ski resorts (yes socal has at least 5 that open every summer with lifts) theres so many nice groomed smooth trails. Mostly flowly, some trails are park style with big table top, or ramp jumps. You can ride pretty much any bike now a days where I'm at. Enduro bikes are king. Enough travel for the downhill. If im taking a shuttle up and its all down hill, ill take a bike with a single crown fork that has 170/180mm fork and a rear coil shock to match. I prefure 27.5 or at least a 27/29 mullet set up.
This was interesting! Especially for me wo is planing to build a enduro or DH bike since I have a hardtail and trailbike with 160mm. I had bet that there where more mullet bikes and the second most travel would be between 170-180mm
In Germany its Enduro. I think it is because Most ppl can use a Enduro Bike to Ride local trails without a lift or Shuttle. But iam still on my Dh Bike. Love it.

I want to upgrade from my Ti 100 mm hardtail to a fully soon. A XC on the trail side of the spectrum or Trail bike on the XC side. 120+ mm so much to choose from, dizzying
I really enjoyed that, you could have made it a 20/30 min vid. Spec comparison was cool. I was wondering if you would get a massive difference in data from different parks like FJs or Dirt Farm type places where 27.5 and 26 might be higher percentage 🤷♂️

I been having a blast i cam def see myself getting a much nicer bike in the future once i get better. Though i am jelly of everyones cool bikes.
Awesome Bike, congratulation! It's always better to be a little under-biked instead of over-biked the entire time. You will become a way-better biker if you start on a hart-tail. You can do a-lot with that bike, (maybe with a ground control t7 front, fast trak t7 rear). And when you go on a bike just rent a Enduro with all that money saved ( Specialized had some amazing bike deal recently). Or take your bike and pick the lines that work for you 😊. Cheers from Switzerland
I am lucky enough to have a DH bike for park and enduro/trail bike for everything else, some people just ride the bike they have as they cant justify the cost, as long as they ride and enjoy it, who cares!!!
My bike is a Rocky Mountain slayer which is a frame designed for dh and enduro freeride and so I have a mix of the 2 builds 200mm front 180mm rear with enduro drivetrain I don’t ride there but the 2 closest parks r Rocky and full of shale
I think enduro bikes are perfect in betweener trail and dh....once you are in the 150mm - 180mm travel range i consider that enduro and thus capable of doing jums and steep track, yet able to climb well depending on the bike ... For instance my giant x trance climbs really well, is fast and can handle bumps and jumps at 160mm well
It does not look to me, like people are choosing DH bikes. The DH bikes are groupped to 200+, don't know actually if there is a big percentage of over 200 bikes. But if you consider Enduro to 150-170 mm range, it seems like a winner.

Yep on this trail I wouldn't take anything less than an enduro bike. So minimum 160 (since you can bump up the travel on them to 170 if needed) but I would bump it up to 170 for sure. Even 160 is pushing it being too little of travel for this but should be able to handle it.
Compared to other brands Trek's and Specialized's warranty and customer service are on another level which might also be a reason. Heard that Santa cruz is pretty much at the same level but don't know personally anyone who owns Santa Cruz at the moment.

This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments.
