You are showing your age that's not the common rail fuel system that is the 2 stroke Detroit that makes the sound they went out in the mid to late 80s when Detroit brought out the 60 Series. I would like to see it have an Allison behind it for drag racing but that might put it in another class I am not familiar with the rules

  • @5337kb

Fat cab did exceptional considering that was it's "maiden voyage" on a ride hard motor.
It's a shame the clutch didn't hold up better, watching it's performance throughout the video I was thinking to myself that it looked like it wasn't pulling as hard on the dig and I was surprised the clutch wasn't blown then that last pass played and you talked about how the clutch roasted, I kinda called it, but either way it far surpassed my expectations becuase it's not often that a "prototype" performs as well as it did without issue on it's first attempt. I think the science speaks for itself, slap a stronger clutch, some super singles, and lett'er rip. Proud of you guys really makes me wonder how it will do in the long run with the reliability of a two stroke AND a common rail combine. As long as the fancy wires hold up our great great great grand children will be driving it 😂😂😂

A 6-110?! What a treat! Those weren't so popular because of the poor fuel economy vs power output. They're quite uncommon now, even more rare than 2-71 or such.
It would be interesting to see what it could do, if one could work on development more. (Pick up where GM left off, and using modern technology.)

But I never saw those huge freaking truck pull so hard and just accelerate so fast for such a massive machine, WOW. Thanks for sharing. Now dumb ass question. 71 menat 71 Cubic Inches per cylinder so 4-71, 6-71, 6V 71, 8V71. Does the 8V92 really mean 92 Cubic inches in ONE Cylinder, So its HUGE Cu In Detroit 2 Stroker with twin Turbos. Now I knew the 8-71 had a central Blower, does the 8-92 also have a Roots Blower PLUS Trin turbos ???? Oh My God, Yes I saw Jason pull away in the second race as he was dialing in the Launch Times better. But then he seemed to booge down. It needs a clutch It seems. I am just blown away by the age of the rig and how fast it can fly. WOW! Thanks Dennis

    • @TheCrustyFatCab

Yes its 92 CU IN per cyl. We've got a new 4 disc slipper clutch for this year, the engine has been rebuilt, and turbos upgraded, along with some other changes. Gonna come out swinging this year. Compared to what you saw in this video, the way it runs now is on another planet!

12v92 is longer but the block is dimensionally the same where it would fit down in the frame rails. Hood will have to be stretched 18" or so. I'll most likely be building a new truck around that engine, as I'll need a heavier trans, driveline, and 46k rears with different suspension to hold up to loaded racing.

@@TheCrustyFatCab It will be awesome to see. What you have done with that truck is impressive. You should patent the Common Rail adapters for the 92 and 71.

Pity can't use Allison Auto in that class. That thing has huge potential.
