That old school BULL DOG WAS GOING TO THE WOODS, old SCHOOL MACKS DONT PLAY I OWN 3 of them 💯if you never drove one 🤔my advice to you drive one with that double stick and put it in the toughest mud hole you can find tandem or trailer it dig a hole in the ground as long as you hold it , make a long story short I was working on a job I was the only old truck out there it was a make , it wasn’t that fast , but I tell you this out of 20 trucks I was only one pulling through the mud with out being pushed with a dozier 🤔for 2 hrs that old Mack was the only truck working 😮there’s more to this story but I don’t have time to telling 😁supervisor got upset with the other drivers

Are some guys hitting the rev limiter & dropping the clutch?
Lots of the super high performance trucks have what's called a "slipper clutch" hold the clutch to the floor and it will eventually start forcing your foot up with the pedal and at a certain rpm and load it engages and away you go. It gets physically impossible to hold the pedal down

confused how this works. do they only have a limited ammount of time? or are they limited on gas or something? what stops them
The amount of weight and the weight box coming up to the fulcrum of the sled and the rearmed lifting off the ground stops them. And there are even grouser bars on the rear part of the pan the long flat part that help slow them down as well.
What is that 1st truck?? Can't tell if it's a mack or an international.

Can someone explains how the back sledge cart works? How can it stop a truck that can pull a 40T load? I've watching some really giant intercooler beasts and can't wrap my head around this

Custom built sled with a big weight on it that slowly advances toward the front as they pull up the track. The farther up it goes the harder it gets to pull

CO2 and soot (black smoke) are two completely different things. The hauler to get it to the event put out 100 times more CO2 than this truck in its run (which was maybe 2 gallons of diesel). Now count the spectators that came to see it run...

Totally agree. But that guy told me he only pulled once a year. The best hooks came from pullers that pull a lot more. You need repetition for sure.
