I've been to many drag strips in my 70 years, I've never seen the starter standing in front of the vehicles, past the tree. One day someone's going to break the kingpin, or an axle and the guy is going to wish he hadn't been standing there.
@@drag.race.god7316 Lots of turbo drag cars, they stage after they are spooled up, the starter never stands in front of the cars. This is almost as bad as the street race clowns starting the race with a flashlight.
@@Userqwerty349 - I know that the promods and turbo cars are spooled at the line but they have anti-lag so it only takes maybe 5-6 seconds to spool. Some of these trucks take over a minute. 146mm turbos don’t spool fast.
I’m not sure how fast the A-class loaded trucks go maybe around 45 in the 750 foot but the bobtails will go around 70-75 MPH in the 550 foot on a really good run.
Black smoke might look cool but it’s pi$$ poor tuning. That smoke is unburnt fuel. The engine needs a lot more air to balance the fuel/air ratio. Why do you never see black smoke from racing trucks - well, because they are tuned properly with MAF, correct ducting, filters, injection timing etc. I’m surprised this is allowed not because it’s stupid; it’s inefficient in terms of wasting precious BHP in a competition
Diesel engines are not like gasoline engines. The more fuel and compression you pump into a Diesel the more power it makes. This isn’t regular diesel either, mostly all of the truck are running a diesel, methanol combination with nitrous. The C-Class trucks are only allowed to burn smoke at the line and between shifts and as you see they are the slowest. The A-Class trucks get up to 75+ MPH in the 550 foot mark according to the time boxes. So I don’t think they would get near it without any coal. A lot of these trucks are tuned by MHPD which is also a professional tuning company and own their own race truck.
@drag.race.god7316 mate, dumping more fuel into the engine has to be matched with more intercooled airflow mass otherwise you get the smoke. Anyway, regards
@@peanuts2105 There is a reason that the slow trucks burn no coal and fast trucks burn the most. These engine are over 200,000 dollars making over 3,000 horsepower. I think that the owners know what they are doing. Dumping fuel into these engines creates more power. Like I said these aren’t gas engines and they work in a completely different way. Tuned by a professional company, 120+ mm turbos, 3,000 - 4,000 hp, 75+ mph in 550 foot, more fuel = more power.

You just do t get it do you. This is a totally different concept here. These guys are PULLING WIEGHT! They need as much fuel as possible. If you are so correct then why does the whole pulling industry tune the way they do? Hmmmm? Captain smarty pants ? God i hate arrogant fucktards

He has to stand there because not only does he control the lights but he also has to make sure that both trucks are spooled up and ready to go!
