I think his mining patterns have gotten better. It's only a matter of what comes first. He mines perfectly or he quits the game.

Buys the automatic overcharge buff, doesn't unlock Overcharge. I love this man.
I could be wrong about this but I think you have to buy the manual overcharge ability for your Primary Gadget (Shield, Repellent, Orchard) in order to enable it to be overcharged at all by the automated overcharge of the condenser. It's less like buying an unnecessary manual overcharge when you already have an automatic one, and more like buying the prerequisite of enabling overcharge in the first place so that it may actually be automated.
Yea. Automatic overcharge makes overcharge permanent, and not at all automatic.
In short:
Manual Overcharge by itself = Interact with your gadget to spend one water to overcharge for one use.
Automatic Overcharge by itself = nothing
Both = you never have to interact with it, it's always overcharged, it doesn't consume water to do so, and whether or not you collect the water from the condenser is irrelevant
Yup, the condenser will permanently overcharge your gadget, but you need something that says what the overcharge does. Like doubling the growth rate of the fruit.
Can confirm this. I tested it with the shield which has a really visible overcharge and buying the automatic upgrade did nothing until I bought normal overcharge.
Also said that was the combo before getting the resources and then saying it was irrelevant.

Attention NL watchers, I do believe that the next episode entitled "Don't make fun of my tunnels (Dome Keeper)" takes place before this one, as it is the stream vod recorded before this made for YT video was recorded.
I work 10 - 4 on Saturdays and I was lamenting abt the fact that I'd already watched all ur Dome Keeper vods. PSA: Automated overcharge doesn't work if you don't buy the overcharge, somehow I knew the second he got condenser he would make that mistake, immediately halving the condensers production for no benefit 😩
I’m a TH-cam guy, I do view twitch live fro time to time but primarily I’m on TH-cam. I think this is what the twitch scene may refer to as very “POG” energy. This series being on TH-cam is very POG I believe

Let's be real, the only NL Videos that have editing are videos by fan/clip channels
Its not being highlighted enough. For the overcharge ability to be used you must first buy the ability. Condenser automated overcharge just makes so you don't have to activate it every time.

Saying I'm happy to see this would be an understatement
Imo priority early is speed > drill strength > carry capacity.
Speed *is* carry capacity because carry capacity is just the amount each brick reduces your speed, so early when your speed is 20 and you get +15 speed, it's nearly as good as carrying, plus you get *to the resources much faster. Same is slightly true of drilling, as you have to bonk into walls to drill.
Later carrying capacity is better because it more than halves the weight every time, but speed is a flat increase so it's a smaller and smaller benefit.
Even though it would need new balancing and wouldn't feel as stressful, a co-op mode for this game would be lots of fun.
Would generate fun blame-game rants about who was supposed to be on dome duty this cycle and why picking that last upgrade was terrible.
Maybe some cycles one person can cover defense, but big ones you need both.

yeah its genuinely kind of ambiguous as to whether the auto overcharge requires having the upgrade that normally enables overcharge on the gadget, and also it was his first run with orchard so he didn't know what the animation should look like
@@PyroPandaMan entirely fair, but the description of the upgrade does say the gadget is permanently overcharged, but water production speed is decreased. Sometimes he just doesn't read but that happens to all of us.

NL, I'm pretty sure you need to unlock the tree's overcharge ability for auto-overcharge to work
@Northernlion I think you felt weak because you put 10/5 into auto overcharge got 0 benefit, because you didn't buy the ability to overcharge the tree
I just played my first round and I really think that carrying capacity was my superstar. I was running low on triangles and I found a big vein of squares and triangles and being able to carry like 12 things really saved me. I did win that one too.
Just a tip I figured out, if you tap the flying creatures with the laser instead of fully beaming them down, they will switch sides immediately. That means if there's like 5 flying dudes, you can just sweep them all with the laser and they'll all stop shooting for a second, instead of beaming them down one by one.

I appreciate the stream vods, partially because the chat can tell you things that you either don’t know or forget. I know NL hates backseating a lot of the time.

I’ve never played so the tree might be bad, but I like the strat of never upgrading it and then saying it’s bad lol
The tree is how you beat the highest difficulty. Even without upgrades you get a LOT of mileage when compared to the alternatives.
You get more resources so you defend more efficiently and also beat the game faster meaning less waves total
NL is back with a hottie!
Because of this series, I bought the game and am having a blast. Reminds me a lot of the arcade game Dig-Dug

I did a super long run yesterday where I mined every single block in the largest map and tried to basically go infinite with a condenser and resource converter, but my condenser eventually stopped producing water. Does anyone know why?
I left a little earth unmined below for the iron-producing tree, and I did not get the condenser upgrade that overcharges the dome gadget.
Did you purchase the automatic collection upgrade on the condenser? It might have just been that it was producing water but it was being put straight into your resources instead of needing to be manually collected
@@fidelb9742 No, I didn't purchase that. It wasn't producing physical water pieces for me to turn in myself, and my water amount wasn't increasing at all.

Atomicrops is also a nice roguelike game by Raw Fury I really enjoyed. It's very underrated for how lovely and replayable of a game it is :)

Watching this series I realised why I really enjoy it when NL plays new games: I feel like I'd mine just like him, just going where I want, just enjoying the moment, disregarding efficiency. I relate to his learning process.
