This made me cry, knowing I was only in 4th grade when this came out and I'm still here enjoying this franchise up to this point even as a freshly graduated adult is just insane to me. I'd never grow out of this game and continue to always stick around for more splatoon related content. 💖
I think splatoon 2 played a big part in helping the franchise expand since it’s been regarded as one of the must purchase nintendo titles on the switch along with odyssey and BotW. That’s how I discovered it

Anarchy Rainbow, my current all-time favorite song, drew me in. When I first heard it, I thought, “this is a Splatoon song?” Then I saw the idols and thought “Okay, this looks cool.” As I started listening to Anarchy Rainbow more, I loved it. Plus, ads were consistently shoved in my face when the game came out, so I was thinking, “this must be my sign.” I got it on my birthday trip a week after it came out. Objectively one of the best decisions I have ever made.

This kind of dedication just doesnt seem to be in the community anymore, and people would rather act super weird with idols rather than what the og had (community and dedication)
