Nice vid. Just did my TB per your directions as my gas pedal had a seriously annoying sticky spot from a dead stop. Cleared it up, now accelerates smooth as buttah!
I cleans the IAC valve too and the port it ls in too. High idled at 2,000 Rpm for a couple of seconds and dropped to 1,100. I pull the iac valve a bit to clean the inside and put it back to how it was before I cleaned it. Also cleaned the EGR, especially the valve the gets stuck too
Btw just a little time and money saving tip that I Learned when working on some carburetors and on mower engines get a steel or copper wire bristled brush and gently pull a single set or wires from it with a pair of wire pliers once removed take a single wire out of the set to clear air and gas injection ports sometimes barely visible to the human eyes the wires will be kind of tight but will get easier to move in and out when the hole is cleaned. hope this helps some one out :)
Awsome, I went to my mechanic a few times about my recent low idling and they kept telling me it's fine, your trucks very old (99 suburban).... anyway, looked up this video and ever since I follwed your instructions ( didn't have time disasembling it, just sprayed some and whiped up) my idle went from a consistent 500 rpms to a now 750 plus rpms without the frequent "hickup" as I cal it ....next I will actually remove it and clean it more thoroughly and clean IAC valve as well - THANK YOU!
This is a very good- How To- video, it very informative, now I know how to clean my chevy vortec throttle body. Thanks a lots and keep up the good work.
Awesome'Z!!!! I'm a Girlie with a sick Mr.Lucky aka 2000 Escalade :( You made this look so "Easy Breezy" I might give it a try before I shell out my "Life Non-Saving's" to the Cadillac dealer!! lol :) Thank You!!
By the way If that is a silicone or rubber seal DO NOT use carb cleaner or brake cleaner on it.. doing this will cause it to become brittle and will either break it or shorten the life of the seal ...use gasoline to clean inside the tba port on the engine if you want to because that carbon can come loose and get right back on the throttle body assembly
Question , I have seen people cut of the throttle body diffuser was wondering what you think about this , as I was thinking of doing the same, not if going to screw with the TPS though
after i removed, cleaned me throttle body like you said and it went very well. Took me 37 minutes. I was like sweet. started right up and sounded smooth. Next day the idle is running really high, wont kick down. thoughts
Correction. Seafoam has different products. Deep creep is Seafoam's PB Blaster/WD40 equivalent. It is NOT seafoam in a can. Not recommended to cover the TB and IAC with sticky carbon attracting lube. Use correct products.
How about removing the electrical components and giving a nice kerosene or gasoline bath to remove even more and clean out all of the little pin holes and airways in the t.b.a itself?
I know this is an older video, but timely for me today!

@EHowTo1 Dont forget to clean the Idle Air Control Valve and passage ways. If thats gumed up it can cause the idle to surge/irratic.

The bottom cable is the kick down cable.
Thanks, but I also have a slight stumble when I stomp on the gas or push on the cable by carb. What might that be. A tune up? lol
what happened to the thumbscrew that holds down the throttle body cover?
Is this the same for a 95 tbi 350 with 5.7 liter????
thanks
Thanks a lot this video really helped.

Good Video✔ Nice work.
