- In this video we turn a 20 inch diameter pipe into a backyard smoker/charcoal grill combo build. This is our 5th smoker build on this channel and by far our favorite. We walk you through step by step how it was built and show us cooking on it for the first time. Huge shoutout to Brunt Workwear for sending us some new boots to use in the garage.

Exactly the kind of projects I would've liked to do with my dad. Nice job.
Holy smokes. That smoker will outlive some people. You guys are blessed to have the knowledge and expertise to use all those tools. With all those man hours that smoker should cost my guess 10,000😮. Amaizing build!
when you said 80 hours, it took me by surprise. I was thinking it's done in a weekend. I have to plan some extra time when I start :) Thanks for the video.
Looks great, 1 super mini thing I'd do is flip the ball valve around so when it's open you can hang your bucket on the handle and it's down to close.
That’s a great idea! We will have to do that.
Smoker and charcoal grill…🤯 Love the stainless steel plate!!!
Great video fellas! Love these smoker vids. I am looking into investing in a smoker myself. I need to get into stick burning BBQ. Keep it up fellas
And i see you like an IPA voodoo ranger. Your all set dad and son. Amazing work!!
One of the most amazing smoker-grill builds on yt. Great job guys!! Thanks for the amazing content.
The UV when welding can cause skin cancer on the hands (I've seen it happen) so pleeease use gloves! Take care guys.
TH-cam just recommended your channel and I just subbed, great video guys and I loved the build. Make as many memories with each other as you can, life is too short!
😅
Awesome build guys, i learnt heaps for the build i started this week. Messaging all the way from Sydney, Australia!
Just ran across you guys, I’m really impressed with your skills, even down to the five gallon bucket as a welding seat. I love seeing stick welders versus wire and making do with what you have. That’s one heck of a garage shop. Good job men.
Such a great video. WOW. Thanks guys. That grill is a dream, too!
Great build 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Not to bad for scrapping her together your final product looked well thought out and practical... you didn't do to bad fabbing it up either. Enjoyed the video
Very nice...plus you and your Pops did it...awesome
Great job guys! 👍🏻
Awesome job guys
Heck yeah
Great build.
Very nice!! Congratulations 👍
Awesome job brother that's something I started doing D.Y.I I don't have a welding machine but screws nuts an boltz work just fine
Love what you guys are doing. The smokers look awesome! If your looking for build ideas how about a Santa Maria charcoal grill and steel griddle insert with drip pan for a gas grill
SS griddle is cool but a well seasoned plate would be just as good. It will stay looking nicer for a longer time. SS griddle is a pain to maintain. Over all a great design and keep up the hard work! Love the videos.
Nice work
Wish I had those skills to make one of these. I have a pellet smoker and also the smokey mountain by Weber but an offset would really complete my set up. Hoping to get one soon.
Solid effort! I know you like your stick welder but a decent little MIG and plasma would do you guys wonders! Smoker still looks sweet though!
Nice project, but as you said you should've cleaned all that internal rust off, especially where you were welding. 👍🏽
love it
Great build r yall selling barrel grills that yall build
Nice 🤙🏽
Thanks!
Glad you liked the video! More to come!
Great build! Love you guys content. Keep it coming. That mountain man Breakfast looked amazing! Is that the Dutch oven from the restoration video?
Thanks for tuning in! That was a different Dutch oven we own!
How high is the smoke pipe?
Where u at I do want one . I’m in Illinois and I’m loving this 😮😮😮😮
Nice build.. How much do you think it weighs? 👍🏿
I would wonder about the grease on the grill part.
Good build. However. for a smoker it is essential that you can access the food on the grates. Grate slides on the top and bottom is a game changer. it lets you access the meat and spay and rotate. let the bottom and top grates slide out for access

Looking for a 24×60 smoker. Single door with counter weight double rack. Double true temp gauges drain valve with a 6in smoke stack.what would that cost me?
Try 6011 or 6010 welding rod, better penetration. Works out of position and is better on dirty or rusty metals.
Will do thanks for the tip!
@@fathersondiygarage3580if you haven't ran 6010 or 6011 practice on something first before you weld on your project they hard to run about one of the best welding rods you can get is 7018 all so if you still have the lincoln buzz box if it is ac only 6010 will not work on your welder you will use have to use 6011 because 6010 is dc only and 6011 is ac or dc ps love your videos
Where do you find these pipes?
Looks amazing. I'm curious, when buying second hand steel, how do you make sure the pipe or whatever steel piece has not been used in something that could in some way make it not food safe? Or how do you make sure the steel hasn't a coating that could be not food safe? I ask because buying second hand seems tempting but what makes me doubt about this idea is related to food safe.
When we find the steel we ask the owner what it was previously used for. When we get it home, we pressure wash and sand blast it. Definitely a lot cheaper than buying the steel brand new but it does require a lot more work.
@@fathersondiygarage3580 the pressure wash is with water?
Where do you sell your items ?
Just curious, how much does it weigh?
Ha, to buy that much steel, to build something like that here in the UK, you'd need to take out a second mortgage. That would cost an arm and a leg 😅, good luck with that.
No credit to Chuds BBQ?
309 for carbon & stainless
Get you a piece of carpet so when your grinding the piece doesn't move
Can you give corect measurement in This project
👽👽👽👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
you over did it with the welding .. it didn't need that much weld
Rather have too much welding than not enough!!
Stick welding is more fun.
No outside the visual temperature gauge
Cool Project! I know by now you’ve added a TelTru gauge. Where did you put it? On the cook chamber door?
Yeah we put one on the door and we have our probe that goes into the meat as well
How much$$$
Ребята привет классная работа, скажите пожалуйста чем смазываете смокер?
Voodo Ranger.. 💀
Nice smoker build, might want to just keep that one and not sell it.
I think that’s what we are going to do. This thing cooks really good.
Honestly, nice father son project for home use. But this could easily be made 500lbs lighter. It doesn't need to survive a nuclear holocaust.
Doubles as a bomb shelter
Несомненно, проделана большая работа, но вид смокера конечно страшненький ( кустарный, неаккуратный )
I enjoyed the video guys but if you value your time (80 hours) it seems likely buying one from a quality mfd. like lone star would be cheaper!
Sch9ool. Kid with thould non welding slippers.
Joke.
Get aplamaze.
