See what some of the Canuks do in Canada. good time in crappy conditions. excellent tarp configuration by the way. in fact, I've logged into my memory as a solid and will give it a go on my next adventure.

Definitely try some live bait. Yabbie`s, shrimp or worms are ideal for fishing in murky water. I grew up on the Murray River and spent most of my time bait fishing it`s the easiest way to get a feed. Something to be aware of also is that the majority of Native fish will always stay close to structure. Look for fallen timber in the water, snags etc that`s where the fish are. They like to hide out of the current and wait for something tasty to come so they can dart out and grab it. Hates Spam is spot on with his comment about not using a sinker the more natural the bait presentation the better. The downside is you will loose more hooks etc fishing in these area`s but that is where all the good tasting native species are. I see a lot of people casting into the middle of the river in the hopes of catching a fish but what they overlook is that all the bait, yabbie`s and shrimp etc are living close in to the water`s edge. Some of the biggest fish I have caught have come by using unweighted bait cast only a small distance from my fishing position. The bank of the river is a structure just as much as a submerged tree or snag. Keep trying mate and you will succeed, nothing taste better than fresh fish that you have caught cooked outdoors on a open fire, its worth the effort!!!!

Hey you plan well and think of everything. Your bush craft is very good and admirable. Love your stuff. You are so much fun to watch. Those spuds being crisp, if you eat the skin that charcoal will stop you from farting too much. For all those other bush people watching, you don’t need much to have a great time. Just stay warm, dry and make sure you have water and can find your way home.

Also I couldn't stop laughing when u tore your t-shirt. Nothing better to me than camping like this with a nice fire and the sounds of the bush. Look forward to seeing more and I'm subn. Cheers

I’ve just seen your videos which are a joy to watch thank you so much. Just a suggestion I was a trout and Salmon fisherman and fished all over the world.
I used to camp out for 14days in Scotland on Loch Lomond, and from 10days to2days on Lough Corrib kin Eire.
Just a suggestion I think you should ground bait the area you wish to fish Carp. Anyway love your videos and your knowledge of your bush.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

Hi Scotty. We enjoy you're videos a lot. My husband suggested that you might try fishing in the morning or evening for the best luck. Also, American cheese or night crawlers for bait. He is very happy to find out there is someone else out there that doesn't drink coffee. lol But he doesn't drink beer either.

Loved the trip Scotty best so far in my humble opinion. . Like you say it's never long enough. Loved the area you were in. May I suggest Scotty making a spatula out of wood to stir your food instead of your knife (lol) oh and why doesn't anyone take a pair of tongs with them. There you go maybe make a pair of them as well. A few years ago every man and his dog were making chairs great to see its making a come back your version is great. Thought your back rest could have been a little bit higher especially for your height. I saw myself having a port and falling asleep haha in front of the fire. You pick some great locations.

As an artist, I look at people' faces in general, particularly the eyes. Everytime, I see your eyes, the thing that comes to mind is SINCERITY, GOOD PERSON. I always get an initial reaction from looking at someone's eyes. I always have. I can't explain it. I wish you would make all your videos this long. Hey Scotty when fishing fresh water with bait try using a simple “running rig” main line through a ball sinker tied too a swivel then on the other side of the swivel tie a 5-600 mm mono leader and just a 2/0 hook should do . also try using Bega Cheese the cod love it !!

  • @slow_diver

You didn't ask for it, but I have some strange strong desire to tell you to rake some coals well out of the fire and away from flames to cook on and plant your spuds in. Open flame nearby is too hot. As for fishing, I would set a fixed line for an eel there, I used to use a bit of inner tube so they tired themselves out if you aren't nearby, but I reckon you could rig up a wee little bell or something to alert you to one on the line. If you want to catch a carp I would use a float and have the bait just near the bottom, when the float went under set the hook with a jerk. I used to use rolled up balls of bread. You don't need much. Serene watch mate. Second track sounded like This is Your Captain Speaking, gorgeous tune.

There are approximately 25 million people living in Australia, with the vast majority living on the eastern coast. So it doesn’t take long to get away from people a modern society. We live on a farm (ranch) about 60 miles out from Melbourne one or our major capital cities. Our nearest neighbor is about 1 mile away.

Great camp again, just on the topic of carp I fish for them in England,I'd get yourself a Polaris float which finds the bottom no matter how deep it then locks itself on the line, fish it about a foot overdepth with corn on the hook, every half an hour flick some grains of corn around the float half a dozen max,if there's carp there you'll get them, btw at the end of your stay do you check your rucksack for spiders, snakes or any other creatures? I always do now for mice mainly as I brought at least one home once and it had babies, not great believe me,I had to set traps for them til I got them all, about ten in total, the wife was over the moon NOT,all the best Phil 👍🇬🇧

If you're trying for carp, look up how to tie a "hair rig", bring a can of corn, throw a handful or two out, cast out to where the corn is, wait and watch the line. Worst case scenario you cook the left over corn! Works for me here in the states, should work there.

Great vid as always! Here in the States I've never even heard of halloumi cheese since no one I know eats it. Sharp chedder, swiss, provolone, colby jack, & munster are the favorite cheeses of the Western U.S. Keep up the cool vids! 1 note: carp are considered trash fish & really not worth catching. If you do try for them, their main diet is aquatic insects -- try a fly fishing class if any are local & have them concentrate on teaching you how to "roll cast." It's much more fun than using a spin rod (though I do take both usually when going fishing here in the State of Idaho.
