- Some of the dopest food I've ever gotten in my life, man Cebu blew my mind. It's incredible to see how diverse Filipino cuisine is and I feel super lucky to have experienced it on my 14 day trip in the Philippines. It's definitely a place that takes a special place in my heart, and I'll forever remember the great bites and people I've met along the way. I love you Philippines and see you soon :-) ❤️🇵🇭

Forever take a special place in my heart 🇵🇭❤
Thank you for coming to the PH 🇵🇭 Hope you enjoy your stay here. 🥵😁
We ❤ you back❣️
especially the chicharon bukake =))
❤❤❤
Thank you.
Whoever did the research for the places where to eat deserves a raise! the places you eat at in the Philippines are 10/10!!! the best representation of the food here in the PH!!!!
yeah, I agree! kudos to the researcher/s! 10/10!
Agree! Most of the time, vloggers only reviews lechon and/or night market. Kudos to the researcher/s for this one!
She mentioned Erwan Heusaff in her Manila vlog, so she probably got a lot of information from him and his team.
I also loveeeeeeee bulalo with bone marrow ❤
You got me at elevated patê
I want to say thank you so much for this video. What could've been a "take some b-roll of street markets for views" became an homage to the culture. It is almost normal to see videos of tourists show obvious disgust when approaching filipino food let alone eating it. Instead, you came at each vendor with grace. You have my respect and thanks.
Awww! Thank you for the kind words 🥹🫶
she really does not yuck our yum
Word! Hundred percent

She casually dropped another movie.
And we watched it whole LOL!!
I am quite surprised I finished the whole video!
this wasn't a clip?!?!?
@@sebiopasmado2474 Honestly I just finished it because I usually just watch it while I'm eating.
Sikwate is like the purest chocolate drink you can get
No ONE has ever made this type of food and travel content;usually it's condensed into a 30 minute vlog. Thank you, Tina. AMAZING!
What? Yes they have..this is literally the structure and quality of other channels like Best Ever Food Review Show, Dancing Bacon, and Mike Chen. If you go back and watch her old videos she's even acting more like those folks than herself in her more recent videos.
I'm a local. Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I'm glad that you like your stay here in Cebu.
I was born in Cebu in 1976 before moving to Los Angeles in 88. The food scene was so much different when I was growing up. I think it was simpler and the ingredients were more authentic. The one thing that nobody can take away is our style of lechon because I believe we have the world's best lechon chefs. Thank you for loving my homeland and I appreciate your work♥👏
This is the best feature of Cebu I have ever seen. Ever. Not even Filipinos do it this good, this authentic, this well-researched. Shows real local knowledge. Shows heart, Dooby. First time leaving a comment on your video I think. Just wanted you to know I realllllyyy appreciate this video. I’ve lived here for 18 years. I felt my culture represented well in your video and I learned even more about it too. Thank you.
I definitely agree but I did raise an eyebrow with "edible string" as she was talking about the longaniza/chorizo. HAHAHA
@@mark030531 It is indeed edible, why do you think they chose to use it.
@@evilkamatis542 💀 Oks pre, enjoy your "edible" string. Next you're gonna tell me that you eat the plastic casing used in skinless longganisa.
@@mark030531 napaka ignorante mo 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mark030531 i caught that too lmao gave it a pass. i did chew and swallow the entire thing as a child, same with the skinless longanisa plastic on bbq 💀
I love that Tina is not really sensitive with small things like flies etc.. she really knows how to respect other cultures.. a real asian woman. Thank you Tina for visiting my motherland... been a fan of you since pandemic. Looking forward to your future contents🤍
In cebuano term we called that “cowboy” it means that we can bring her anywhere and never complains

From a Cebuana who’s living outside of the country and really misses home at the moment. Thank you for showcasing Cebu at its best, this video just made me even more homesick but it also made me look forward to go home and just re-discover all the old food hunts and add in new ones. Thank you tina for reminding me why I love my city so much. ❤
this is one of the best filipino food vlogs done by a foreigner. you can really see the amount of research done by the team, and that shows how authentic and genuine and respectful you are to our country. all of the food you have tried is spot on when it comes to filipino food representation. thank you so much 🥺💕
Silent subscriber here. Honestly, there really aren't many documentaries that showcase the beauty and appeal of the Philippines. Big props to you for doing this!! Hope many more people see how awesome the Philippines is. Thanks for showing the world this! :)
there isnt beauty, filipinos are dirty and poor...
I absolutely love how raw, authentic and how you truly immersed in the local scene. So, so fun to watch. Even us locals will learn so much from your videos.
now this is how you do a food content in PH as a foreigner. With proper representation and research! Not those typical "clickbait food vlogs" wherein they eat everything they set their eyes upon and call it the best food the Philippines has to offer.
These past two videos have felt like such a love letter to PH. As a Fil-Am who has has yet to go home, it is so touching to see one of my favorite TH-camrs care so much about research and respect towards our food and culture! Thank you so much for this!!!!!
I’m happy you’re actually immersing yourself in the filipino markets like a local. This is like a fever dream, you in philippines but this content is so authentic, I enjoy it a lot ❤
i feel that "fever dream" description a lot lol
Thank you for showcasing Cebu, Tina. My Cebuano heart is very proud❤
You're not just a foreigner/tourist now, but you're already an honorary Filipino. Thank you for immersing yourself with the people and taking time to explore our food. Filipino food is not mostly known because the essence of what Filipino food is like shared home cooked meals eaten together by families in one table. Thank you dooby!
To be honest, at first I literally skipped this video because in my mind I thought this is one of those classic foreigners video eating. I am so thankful that TH-cam algorithm didn't give up on keeping recomming this video to me because this is the best documentary about Filipino food! Big Kudos to all rhe creatives behind the scenes and to you too! I hope you'll be able to keep making this Quality videos because this is LIT! This deserves more views
32:34 God damn, Doobie nailed it!
That's what most clout-chasing PH food reviewers miss. The food here in PH might taste repetitive, lack spices, mostly fried, reliant on sauces. We get it. But the vibes, man. The bonding, the group atmosphere. That's what PH cuisine is all about. Communal food, beer-friendly, mix-and-match to your liking with things like rice and vinegar to balance it out. With excellent music in the background (tone-deaf Pinoys are rare).
Oh, and to finish it all up, we have a top-tier dessert game, PH love them sweets!
You have touched on the concept of what the Greeks refer to as κοινωνία. 🫶🏻
THIIIIS
pero mapapaisip ka na lang kung bakit hindi promoted yung sweets natin considering na napakatamis ng cuisine natin dito and sobrang daming matamis, both desserts and native delicacies.
@@Diyel
He has touched on the concept of what the Greeks refer to as κοινωνία.
@@Diyel Makes me think as well. Alot of YT Channels testify that our desserts are to die for but rarely advertised. Probably because we are the "Adobo and Lumpia Country,,
"food reviewer" -> needs to ignore food and review the vibes lmao 🤪
Best part of this, she knows HOW to eat Filipino food. Some vloggers would come and won't even bother to ask how to eat the food then complain that they don't like it.
i agree! I’m a filipino and I have not even tried 80% of what she had!!! and she did it with grace and in my opinion, she gave a more genuine take on these delicacies…
10\10 from a Local. Best representation of Cebu. Our life, food and living as a local.
You're getting popular here in the Philippines specially when you featured the Cebu series of vlogs.
In fact, you're getting pretty and prettier each day you come out with a new vlog.
Just enjoy Philippines!
As a filipino living abroad, seeing my culture and food so respected and celebrated brings such a warm smile to my face! Thank you so much for showing love for my country! Hope to see more of your adventures around the world!

I think this is one of the best Filipino cuisine food vlogs by someone who is not based in the Philippines ❤️ truly found hidden gems and food that locals really eat.
Young, adventurous and beautiful! You are such a delight to watch and I can‘t be happier seeing someone like you enjoying the country that I love and the place of my birth, Cebu! More power to you young lady. I think you‘re making the most of your young life. Be safe always…❤️❤️❤️

I love how kind and respectful you are with the Filipino food and culture. I’ve been following you for a long time now…your professionalism and talent will take you very far. That’s what makes you an excellent vlogger. Thank you. 🌸
man, I miss my home, cebu. can't wait to get back there this golden week. 8:25 puto'g sikwati.
puto = sweet sticky rice with ginger
sikwati = hot cocoa
those round things made from cocoa beans are called tablea. my grandma used to knead those by hand every night.
puto'g sikwati is a traditional breakfast. best paired with the sweetest mangoes.
Ohhhhh good information! I will eat puto sikwati at the market in mid-June of CEBU. Can you recommend traditional foods that i can eat in Cebu?
@@wh2ok I just got back here in Cebu and I would like to say, the mangoes right now are the sweetest! I hope it could stay that way when you get here in June. I would recommend you check the food presented in this video like Lechon and the local chorizo and eat it with puso shown in the video as well (it's very simillar to ketupat from Indonesia). And If you can, checkout torta from Argao and maybe bibinka near some churches early in the morning. That's as traditional as it gets I think lol. There is also a variant of puto that is purple It's less sticky (the rice grains feel more separated) but it's more fragrant. If you're looking for what locals usually eat there are many food bazaars in areas like IT Park where you can find food like siomai (local siumai) and ngohiong. There are also traditional food that can be eaten during christmas like binignit but I think some places make them anyway even when it isn't christmas, unfortunately I'm not a very good guide and I just go where my relatives take me so I can't name places really well, sorry for that.
@@bewhewbs ohhhh!! I’m going to stay in moalboal for 3 nights. I will try eating Ngohiong, bibinka, and so on! Thank you for the tips ;)
Girl you could even consider yourself a local by now. That was AMAZING! Truly captured the real Cebu.
This girl is a natural foodie. I couldn't even eat the other food she tried. I also appreciate the amount of research done for her content.
Tina makes food vlogging so fun and easy to watch. She's witty, funny, and makes an effort to know the food she'll be eating. Also, kudos to Kevin for capturing the best shots and videos for this vlog. Hope you'll be visiting PH again on your food trip.
You see her passion to food when she always tells how grateful and privileged she is in witnessing the food prep and not just eating good food. Thank you Tina for sharing our food in your platform. Hope you visit other islands! There’s still a lot here!
12:16 "ah DOOOOOOBEDOOOOOBEDOOOOOOO" 😂😂😂😂😂. Love the consistency with these uploads and long form docs Tina!!
"Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean it's bad food." - Dooby, 2024
In Cebu, there are a lot of cheap places to eat and mid-range and expensive ones too. The thing about the place Tina went is IT IS THE PRIME SPOT of Cebu's market industry. So, the food they serve are cheap because the ingredients that are used came from direct suppliers, there's no middle man in between. The Taboan Market is also a public market, so the rent is cheap to zero. The cooks or sellers of the food are their own bosses and employees as well, so the products' stay w/in the price they wanted it to be. This just goes to show how locally-owned and small businesses are still able to provide GOOD FOOD but at a price that ANY FILIPINO can afford to buy.
You gotta love Dooby for bringing this type of discussions and examples in a platform where creators typically follow the mainstream (or tourist-y) options. Gihigugma tika, Dooby! (It means I love you.)
I really love the new path that you are taking which is food vlogging. I enjoyed watching every part of it, and thank you for making the Philippines as your first stop. 😊 🇵🇭🇰🇷
i went to college in cebu and i'd have to say you went to more places in 72 hours than myself in 4 years lol. but seriously, i'm feeling a little homesick right now and your videos have really put a smile on my face.
tina, i've always loved your content, but these philippine food crawls have been nothing short of excellent. thanks for putting a spotlight on filipino cuisine! to quote kris jenner, you're doing amazing sweetie!!!
p.s. u have to try visiting dumaguete and bacolod some time! the philippines is home to delicious, complex, and interesting food, and though i'd say you've explored *so much* in the time that you were there, you've only just scratched the surface!! food in the province is such a different experience!
This video made me fall in love with the Philippines all over again.I actually visited there for the first time last year although I am a Canadian born Filipina. ❤ Anywho, that lady was so cute when she tried to say your name but she said "doo bee Doo bee Doo"🥺😁🫂
I swear. This is Netflix worthy. And I will tell you, I will do an all nighter watching these. I adore your way of interaction with thr people you have met. Asked the best questions, and the insertion of bloopers in between like butchered words made sense and made thid a full circle moment. Currently watching this while working. Really entertained. ❤❤❤ Hope to see more of these with your next food journey across the world.
tina, thank you for being so good at what you do. i genuinely loved this video. so much so that every time you explained a little history of cebu and the food u ate, i cried. u always go and do it in the most authentic way!! and i appreciate u for that. i have never seen any other content creator that does it like you do. cebu city is my home and forever will be my favourite place in the world, thank you for featuring the locals in this amazing vlog!! i hope you come back to cebu and explore beautiful beaches and waterfalls as well. also hoping to see you in person 💓
At the Pungko, pungko, I believe they don’t serve beers because if they did, people would hang out and chill there forever just drinking. It’s to keep the flow going and have people just eat and leave. So I think that’s why they refrain from selling beers. Awesome content! I love how you really went really local and the markets. You’ve done a lot more than I have and I was born and raised in Cebu. I cannot stop laughing about the “Chicharon Bukake!” 😂
7:10 look at how LOLA is smiling at the back while watching ate Tina!🥺❤
This content is as authentic as you. You've presented a different side of Cebu that not many content creators were able to show. You've definitely showcased the simple, humble, and exquisite side of the Queen City of the South.
🥰👏🏽
I spent two years in Cebu in my childhood and watching this brought back so many memories and nostalgia that I wasn’t expecting to feel during the video. This video is so special and such a great encapsulation of Cebuano culture
2:18 that was not pork skin.. those were LANDANG, a processed starch comming from a Trunk of a Boli Palm tree or Buri Palm tree. We use those in Coocking Binignit. it is a Visayan dessert soup and it is served Hot. it is like the Halo Halo of soups bec, its ingredients are Glutinous rice, Landang, Coconut milk, Banana, Taro, Purple yam, Sweet potato, Sago. and I don't know if you already tried it but its the sweetest soup you will ever have..

Cebu is the best!….I lived there for years, and never regretted a moment… food, entertainment, and gorgeous beaches. What a great place.
I recently just found out about you dooby and wow you're already one of my favorite food channels here on TH-cam. I just love how real your reactions are! seeing you try all the authentic food on eateries beside the streets instead of trying out restaurants in Malls or in other commercial spaces, just shows how genuine you are with food. keep up the awesome work with your channel and thank you for visiting the Philippines!
I love how you chose to show this side of Cebu, which I believe is one of it’s true essence instead of going to fancy restaurants. My Cebuana heart is 🥹❤
I love how you covered the hidden gems in the cebu marketplace. These are not usually featured in international vlogs as they are not mainstream. Very good research and production team
Wow, I absolutely loved how she included Cebu in her food adventure! The variety of dishes she tried looked incredible, especially the lechon. It's amazing to see her explore the local markets and indulge in authentic Filipino cuisine. Cebu City definitely deserves its spot as a must-visit food destination! 🍽
Ngl, this is a top tier content. It's refreshing to see this type, informative and fun. Not like 90% of bullshit and negative ones. Ang galing. Kudos to u Tina!
Chicharon bulaklak or ginabot in cebuano is actually pork intestine. The rice in cebu is called "puso" which is wrapped in palm leaves (not banana).
technically not pork intestine! it's the mesentery (fatty layer/membrane) separated from the intesine :) if you want intestine, get chicharon bituka
Never thought I'd live to see the day Tina speaking in my dialect (bisaya). Adorable af. Didn't get the chance to see her and Kevin but hope you guys had fun here in Cebu. I think a 2nd tour is in order.

so so informative and from a filipino's perspective, they're really filled with lots of things we had to introduce to the world that sometimes, we, ourselves are having a hard time putting our fingers to where to start..i just like how you indulged FROM the filipino foods that are commonly tried on and are now becoming ordinary for us as we watch other content creators who only try those things TO some of the most exotic, street and ghetto kinda foods like animal innards and some other underrated dishes that if you hadnt asked a local, you wouldnt know. these videos you made about our filipino food really are the perfect introductory videos that we had to show to foreign tourists! they're jam packed! thanks for the dedication, tina~!

Rooting for you & tuning in to your next one…
I was so happy to see you opened the vlog at Taboan Market. Like no food vlogger knows this place yet. All the places youve visited are all local favorites that keep us sustained throughout the day. Good job!
Thank you for taking the time to explore Cebu, Tina! I just have a few things to point out:
- People in Cebu are called Cebuanos, not Cebuans 😂
- The white wrinkly thing you called chicharon is landang, not chicharon 😂 I think it’s used in binignit/bilo-bilo which is a snack that is kinda like a sweet hotpot
- Paypay is cebuano and tagalog for fan so pinaypay is quite literally fanned out banana.
- Puto sikwate is usually considered as breakfast food in Cebu, not dessert.
- Kinda wish you tried the chorizo with a little vinegar, just like how we locals like it.
- Puso is encased in coconut leaves, not banana leaves.
- The root crop you pointed in Taboan market is called gabi, i guess taro in common terms? Filipinos, correct me if I’m wrong here 😅
- The crab relleno is filled with crab meat and vegetables that I can’t identify but definitely not rice.
- There’s a debate on which city makes the best lechon in Cebu (Talisay, Carcar, Liloan) but I guess wherever you go, you can never go wrong with Cebuano lechon.
- Love that tuslob buwa didn’t scare you but if you want the most authentic tuslob buwa you can get, go to Pasil. It’s a barangay right beside Taboan.
- I think I may be biased but I honestly think there’s not a bad restaurant in Cebu so it was not a surprise that the pochero place you went to was good, but if you’re taking recommendations, try Ekit’s Pocherohan next time.
All in all, I love this video! You couldn’t have done a better job on showcasing Cebu to the world 💕
I'm Filipina and live in Mindanao, I just visited Cebu for a short travel to visit my brothers, nephews, and nieces who all live there. i love how tina describes the flavor of the food. it makes me want to try them too!!
A few notes;
0:20 Visayas is not an island but a group of islands. One of the three parts of the country, the other two being Luzon and Mindanao.
15:37 The string or thread used in making the chorizo or 'longganisa' is not commonly edible
19:00 The chicharon bulaklak is made from pig's certain organ called the masentry
19:26The rice is wrapped in coconut leaves not banana and it's called 'puso'
46:23 Lechon leftovers are usually cooked as paksiw (Lechon Paksiw). The leftover is cooked with onion, garlic, pepper corns, dried bay leaf, and vinegar.
52:02 It's evaporated milk they put on top of the fruit mix, not condensed milk
57:08 There is no glaze on the chorizo(longganisa). The 'glaze' is from the spices and ingredients like sugar, mixed with the meat inside that produces such graze. Also the fat of the meat.
Thank you for showcasing Pinoy food Tina. Although you might have forgotten an important part of Filipino food, the KAKANIN. But maybe that's for when you come back.
the oil is from the cocoa beans
@@dana_ella really? But it is cooked with coconut milk right?

Thanks for featuring Filipino food on your channel! It's fantastic that you included our country in your vlog. Thank you so much!
only 1.5 hr video. thought it was 72hrs. Love it.
1:23:11 I didn't realize there were different versions of pochero. I grew up with our local version of pochero: similar to the cebu's version but with plantains, potatoes, and carrots instead of sweet corn and spring onions
Our pochero contains saba (a type of banana) this would seperate it from bulalo. And we don't have sweetcorn either, even carrots.😅 I guess it varies from region to region

Queen city of the south never fails, you did great. Never saw Cebu this way before. Thank you so much😊
Dooby my God how freakin amazin you are! Not only do you love and enjoy the cuisine you encounter, but you also appreciate the work and culture behind the dishes. You see food as a human connection and that makes you a gem in the digital culinary space! More power to you and your team!
I really love how you're deep diving on different Filipino cuisines. Almost every city here in this country really has their own culture especially when it comes to food. Even me, a Filipino who grew up in Metro Manila is yet to get introduced to various kinds of foods within the country. I'm really a huge fan of your contents 🤍
You are so good in describing the food, its taste and texture!!! It’s exactly how it is for each food!!
Tina, your knowledge about food is AMAZING. I can't believe to witness and learn about food from such a young expert like you!!
The way you describe and present the facts about foods is so beautiful and perfect!
Love to see young soul so passionate about something in their life.
Ahhhhhh! Thank you for exploring the best of Cebu’s street food! Even us from other parts of the Philippines love to indulge in Cebu’s amazing food when we travel there 😊 you did such a good job immersing yourself with the locals and the markets, Tina! I rarely see a food vlogger who’s really comfortable and knows how to be light-hearted and fun with these type of new experiences ❤️ I love the documentary style approach too!
