bro i’m so proud of jayden. not knowing how to swim and still doing a 5 metre dive is courageous. the fear of drowning paralyzes people.

Not knowing how to swim does not mean he has hydrophobia. The "fear of drowning" does not paralyze people - it is the very reason that they swim.

It's quite a different experience when you're forced to swim as a person who doesn't know how to. Something just clicks in your brain, helping you to survive. Something similar happened to me, where I will be left behind if I didnt swim across the river. The need to survive and not get left behind eats up the fear somehow.

fr! as someone who doesnt know how to swim, i admire his courage. i once tried to learn swimming with my friend (my friend's a swimming trainer) yet i got panicked everytime im underwater for more than 3 seconds. it's not that im out of breath. it just feels like my brain is sending danger signals even when my body is doing fine

    • @themocaw

I once had a friend who fell in a pool, sank to the bottom of the deep end, and thought, "I should try to get to the surface. . . But that's so much work. I think I'll just drown."
Which turned out to be the right move. His body's natural buoyancy brought him back up and someone grabbed him and pulled him out. They asked why he didn't try to swim out, and he said, "I don't know. Maybe I'm just lazy."

    • @akiheavenly6
      @akiheavenly6 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +66

He's in the safest place he could be for someone who can't swim. There are experienced combat divers in that pool, so he couldn't drown even if he wanted to.

I love that Harvey, Jayden, and Nati shine in this series. In the earlier light-hearted series, they are typically quieter and calmer so they're usually in the back but their maturity really comes through in this one. Jayden with his athleticism, jumping off a 5m, and swimming in deep water with no hesitation even though he doesn't know how to swim shows his self discipline. The respectful way that Harvey and Nati are speaking Korean, following directions, and socializing with the Korean soldiers is exemplary. They're all taking this boot camp seriously. These are outstanding young men!

I’m curious to see how Armand will handle this experience. From what I remember he was head boy at their academy, and was held in a pretty high regard in terms of representing the school. They would often joke about him being the responsible one, but he is so completely out of his element here. Being someone that everyone has such high expectations of and not meeting them can really mess with someone’s mind. I wonder if that’s part of why he seems so nervous and uncomfortable. I hope there’s no hate comments towards the boys as this part of the series progresses. Let’s all remember that it’s easy for us, as viewers, to sit and watch and have opinions about how the boys handle the situation they are actually physically in. Of course, there are moments that are inappropriate and immature, but this is so far out of their comfort zones and people all have different ways of coping. I’m sure watching this back will be a lessons learned for the boys when watching how they interacted and behaved once they’re mentally and physically calm back home, but while they’re training, they are probably not fully aware of what they’re doing.

    - Nervous laughter at the situation he's in
    - Complete blanking out (lots of scenes he's just staring off)
    - Venting his annoyance on Max
I do hope koreans understand that this is very stressful and new for a non-korean teen from a culture where not all boys go to the military. He is in no way disrespecting the Korean military by laughing, but among all the boys, I think he is the most ill-prepared.

Nati also for continuing to show passion for learning Korean and fully immersing himself in his surroundings.
And Jayden for being willing to literally dive in and try his best.

Harvey definitely stood out the most in this episode, we've seen him kinda on the quite side before but here he's the most serious one and he even kept making an interaction with the koreans!

Harvey impressed me in this video , it’s a tough situation, fighting for all the military recruits who are giving up their youth for their military

Having Josh, Ollie and the rest of the adults taken away was a good decision since they've been acting like a shield for the boys. Now the boys are fully independent and know they aren't gonna have someone to defend them all the time it's made them realise how serious boot camp actually is.

Maybe. The bunks camera reduce their time to be at ease after training though. Immediate lights out must've been confusing 😢
That said, that camera might be their way to safeguard them. Hope things eventually turns out well for them!

Nah, it was just an excuse to sleep at a comfortable hotel rather than be there any longer. None of the adults defended the boys, so what are you talking about they just told them to be quiet and it was mainly the translator calling them out on their behavior and saying they could get called out if they don’t act respectful. In my opinion it was rude & unprofessional that Josh told the boys literally last minute he wasn’t gonna be sleeping at the camp like them for the week, even though he’s been rambling how he’s gonna go through the whole process like the rest of the boys yet manages to skip the part where he sleeps somewhere more comfortable for the week.

Binge watching this series and i can't stop thinking if this is just basic training, then what happens in combat or the real training. This is mind blowing, Kudos to Korean Englishman and the Boys.
