- Hi There,
Welcome to the Upcycle Design Lab. I like to craft with recycled, repurposed, and unwanted materials. If you enjoy reusing repairing and re-imagining old items, I hope you will stick around and check out some of my other Upcycling tutorials.
In this video, I am putting E6000 and Fabri-Tac to some head to head testing to see how they perform on wood, plastic, glass, paper, and more. Check out my video to find out they perform.

I’m not too surprised at the results except for your fabric samples. Fabri-Tac by its very name implies fabric though I have used it successfully for rhinestones. I use it for fabric, lace, and trims and love it. I have never had anything pull off, and in fact can hardly get it off. It doesn’t stain, stays clear and soft and I can even tea dye over it and it gives me a uniform color.
Hi Mary - thanks for watching and for sharing your insight 😊
Love the skewer application idea, simple and effective.
Thanks 😊
Thank you for taking the time to review these x
Thanks for watching 😊
Excellent review- thanks for taking the time to do this
Thanks for watching. 🙂
Informative episode. Not that both products should have at least 24 hours for full strength. And E-6000 continues to gain strength for up to 3 days if you can wait that long.
Awesome! Straight to the point!!
Thanks 😊
Great testing and editing of this video, very entertaining to watch! Thank you for doing all the work putting together the many test scenarios. Keep it up!!
Thanks for watching 😊
Interesting comparison. Thanks!
Thanks 😊
good idea to do side by side testing.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks! you sure saved me a lot of time.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much! This was super useful to me!
Happy to help. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Thank you!
Your welcome 🙂
Awesome Video !
Thanks 😊
Thank you for the effort, it was really helpful.
I think that plastic to plastic is not held, but plastic to fabric might work. Same thing for some other materials.
Surfaces that have some pores hold on better.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks
Thanks for watching.
very good video, i only use fabri tac for fabrics which is excellent and with many washings, but e6000 for everything else.
Thanks for watching
I am using Fabritac for reupholstering vintage bicycle saddles, (mostly old Italian ones ) ,glue grabs fast which is very important to me because seats got crazy anatomical shapes, I do not use any staples glue holds very well ( leather to plastic) ,lot of times I do same saddles over and over again every 3-5 years, bikes otfen left outside all year around ,so when I am getting them back I am checking the glue and it holds pretty good.
Hi Alex. Thanks so much for your comment. I love your interesting use for this glue.🙂
Hi, what brand of glue grabs you are using?
@@GreenPeonyEvents
beacon fabri tac
And full cure not reached for 24 hours and maximum strength at 48-72 hours on E6000.
thanks so much for this, GOD Bless:)
Hi Krishan - I am happy this info helped. Thanks for watching.
Why didn't you try to pull the e6000 pink heart off like you did with the fabri tac one
I was very interested to see e6000 vs fabritac for fabric to see if I should switch. Thank you for this comparison, I'll stick with my trusty e6000
I am happy to help. I too find that E6000 is my go to glue. Happy crafting.
e600 yellows
FABRI-TAC is supposed to be left to dry for 24hrs not 16 xx
Nice❤
Thanks 😊
E6000 4 life!!!
Yesss👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
it yellows
You’ll need JB Weld for Metal to metal glue. Sometimes it’s just necessary to have glues that are specific to the jobs you are doing.
Thanks for the tip 🙂
Hi! do you think the fabri-tac would be ok to use to seal the ends of yarn for fringe ?
Hi thanks for your question. Sorry I am not sure how to answer your question. The glue would certainly keep the ends from fraying but it will be a little stiff and crunchy so you would probably want to test it out first.
Superglue doesn’t even work on plastic or silicone… You need some kind of bonding specialized for that but surprisingly for fabric I found that hot glue works the best
Thank you for doing this video. It was really useful for me. The "Project Farm" guy would be proud. I am so disappointed that the Fabri-tac is so poor at bonding to the fabric.
Thanks for watching. I thought I was going to love fabri- tac when I first started using it but it's actually a little bit difficult to work with. One of my go to glues always seems to be clear E6000.
This was so useful ! I was going to buy fabrics-tac for a shoe upcyle because I saw a designer doing it on boots...but now... I don't think so, do you recommend other glue that is not one of this from the video?
Hi - I do use e6000 for a lot of projects including on some shoes. Gorilla makes a similar glue which is also very good. Thanks for watching. Have fun with your project. 🙂
Would you have a suggestion for metal embellishments to paper. I have the metal pieces with rhinestones I am putting on paper purses. I used hot glue and they are coming off. I thought about trying e6000 and beacon 3 in 1 glue as I have both. BUt was curios what others think so I dont ruin my project. haha! this video was great!
Thanks for watching. I don't know for certain what the E6000 glue would do to the paper but I don't think that it is an acid free (safe for paper) glue. I don't know if this would work for your project but certain mounting tapes are made for metal and I think they are safe for paper.
They make fabric mod podge too but I haven’t tried it
I haven't tried it either but I have used regular mod podge on fabric. It make the fabric much stiffer but holds really well.
I think your suppose to wait a few days b4 u wash fabric tac.. how long before u washed may i ask
Hi Nina,
Thanks for your question. I sorry I don't remember exactly how long I waited but it was probably only 24 hours.
what fabic glue you use on the pink heart at the first one on "a"?
Hi it was glued with mod podge in different video. It makes the fabric stiffer but it holds pretty well.
What it's a third glue on fabric on name "a"??
And Which glue you recommend for fabric and patches??
Tnx!
Great video!
Hi, thanks for your question. The "a" heart is from a previous video it is glued with mod podge which holds really well but is quite stiff when it dries. I think it is actually the best for fabric and patches but I would recommend testing it to see if you like the way it finishes on your particular fabric.
try: lightly sand off any metal plastic coating(s) and/or degrease using 99% Isopropyl alcohol.
Thanks for your comment.
Can Fabri-Tac be used on NFL jerseys to put patches on them? Please lmk thank you in advance
Hi thanks for your question. My experience with Fabri-tac was that it did not hold up well after washing. So I would suggest adding a few hand stitches to the edges of the patch if you use the glue to attach the patch.
@@UpcycleDesignLab aw man really ok thank you so much for replying
Did you know if E6000 works on polyester and nylon?
Hi I haven't tested it on those fabrics specifically but my guess is that it would hold it might cause some discoloration of the fabric. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
How washable is e6000?
I haven't been able to wash it out in my experiments.
Fabri Tac is usually used on books adhering material to book covers most have good success
Thanks for the info 🙂
Whats the best glue option for Bio-Plastic fabric?
Hi Carla - I am sorry but I don't know how to answer your question. I am not familiar with Bio-platic fabrics. In my experience with plastics in general I would use the E6000 glue but it also depends on the project. If you need to smooth the glue out over a large surface e6000 is not a good choice. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching
@@UpcycleDesignLab yes, i definitely need to do the seams with the glue.. so I guess I can't use the E6000
@@carlapalazzo7973 they do make lots of fabric glues but I am not that familiar with any of them. Good luck in your quest. 🙂
Fabritac didn’t work for me
What about UHU glue
Hi - I am not familiar with that glue. Thanks for watching.
Let's turn to God Theseasonorg explains the whole bible God bless
And the winner is…………E6000
Thanks for watching.
Mod podge
Yes I love Mod Podge! I did a review of that too. th-cam.com/video/2V6ZqdUs4MU/w-d-xo.html
Terrible review considering you didn’t even let neither one get remotely close to fully curing. Way to mislead everyone with bad information. That’s what the internets all about though huh misinformation.
You're seriously wasting your time using that skewer
