- The second installment of my mini series "How fast is it?". This time we take the slowest of them all for a 1/4th mile run!
And yes, it's slow!

In some cases i drawed and printed (with 3d printer) the seals myself from tpu filament. And they work!
@@hansturpyn5455 Yeah I've read about it and wanted to try it aswell. Did you print the fuel pump membrane?
I believe that is an "Impex" manufactured Solex. I have the same model. I get a solid 22 mph. You have now inspired me to time my 3 Solex' in the quarter mile!
I think this one was hungarian built. Not sure if that makes it an Impex?
My oto (no clutch solex) also gets 22 mph. But it has way more in it. Should get it to 30 with some extra parts

@@VintageGarageYT no work on the engine. I was only out in the garage to change some small thing one day. Then one thing lead to another 😅 But there is a race pipe on now. Sounds very angry and 2 strokey 😎🤘

@@captainflatspot Race pipe will lean out the air/fuel mixture and cause the engine to seize. Need a bigger jet.

Stock they are "cheerful" at best. I have 3. A 3800,a 5000 and a wildly tuned 30 mph Frankensolex!
Yeah maybe try to run a speed test on them!
Officially 23mph
99% of them only go 25 km/h which is 15mph. Where do you get that "officially" from?
My 3800 will hit an even 20 mph on a flat level road. HP should be about 0.6-0.8. Yes it is under one HP.
Thats about the speed these go stock.
Give your Solex a gun, so it get stronger then as one horse. It would make it stronger then at least 10 horses. Depends on the magazin.

During sprints they can produce up to 1.38hp. lol that's more than 2 solex 🤣
