Great video, this is the reason why i was subscribed to the channel in the first place. You weren't wrong in the beginning of the video, I was feeling like you talked about me haha. Beside watching the cars on the channel i'm happy to see the solex again. I restored my first solex when I was 17 (during lockdown) and after three years I still have my proudly restored 1700, after that a few other solex projects joined but I will never sell my original solex. There is a small company in Holland that sells electronic ingnitions for a solex, I put it on my 1700 it drives great. Ps: don't use a drill by one of my projects de threat broke off.
Thank you i have been unable to find a video to do that i am very grateful to you and also to show how to make the tool to remove the flywheel thanks again.
Nice to see some Solex content! I set the timing ⏱️ also with cigaret paper, but this way is more accurate! And I als stopped with smoking a long time a go !
Is that me ? If it is I’m happy 😃 I love the moped videos. Yesterday I was busy cleaning out a Puch Maxi rusty fuel tank not the most fun job but once it’s done it’s done. Good video more Moped videos please 😃🙂👍 oh if your interested I’ve got some videos coming up sorting out a Honda ST50 monkey bike engine 👍
cool stuff! But instead of pulling the flywheel over and over again, couldn't you install a measuring point that is accessible from the outside through one of the three holes? A piece of nice, gracefully curved sheet of copper, for example, with a hole for the screw (that you used to fixate the wire) on one side and a socket for the probe on the other - the socket should then be accessible when the contact opens?
So many peeople have broken flywheels on a lot of engines by trying to improperly remove them, whether breaking fins off, or shattering it to pieces, and only then do they look up how to do it right... :P
Fed video 🙂.

From very cool cars to cool mopeds - what's not to like. You are doing it so very well!
To gearheads like us, there's nothing quite as satisfying as hearing the motor you've just been working on come to life!

its not that bad to remove the flywheel... and you will have to disconnect the lead from the ignition coil.. its hard to do with the magneto on...
Have you tried an expansion chamber?
Fedt med en Solex video ❤
Ja! :D
0:52. I just got a bicycle of this type solex 3800 would be grateful if you would provide me with the measurement of oil and gasoline mixture thanks

@@steffenrasmussen6048 desværre ikke...
Tjek kompressionen og om snøfteren slutter tæt.
@@SeasideGarage Mange tak for svar. Prøver det..
Mine doesn't have the holes, it's just a solid piece
Waiting for saab 900)
You make everything completely complicated. A cigarette paper is enough to do the job
Do I need to start smoking then?
Thank you 😊
