Found an old 3800 in a friend's barn that needs restoration, so found this video to see someone riding it. Had amazing fun watching how french moped riders and italian moped riders are truly the same breed. Had even more fun seeing nick respond to all the comments, legend! ps, the only difference between my solex and this one is that mine quite strangely has it's headlight on the handlebar, possibly a difference between french market ones and italian ones?

@@nick2ny I did like it. There are not many english VeloSolex videos, and french streets have lots of charm, so this was more than appreciated . It's easy to get carried away/not pay attention, when having fun, but 30km\h is enough to cause harm

However as a long time motorcyclist with everything from Velosolex to Ducati I would remind you of the old saying “there are old motorcyclists and there are bold motorcyclists but seldom do you find old bold motorcyclists. Your riding was beyond appalling and completely unfair on those around you. Please improve and live longer.
It's in France, I assure you everyone rides like that and it's fine. The police ride wheelies, kids drink straight from bottles of rosé riding scooters the wrong way down bus lanes. If you like motorcycles I think you'd find it heavenly.
@@nick2ny i bought a sport cylinder. And open the Chanel in the engine even more. So it gets alot of rpm. It have been working as a daylig rider for a hole year. 40km each day. The clutch has other springs aswel. It pulls really good. Never use pedals. ;)

Hi! The engine is at full throttle until you brake. The brake rolls the throttle off and applies the brake.

It's more to do with the overtaking on both sides and zigzaging between the traffic.
