I know it only showed up after ganishka's death but since he's not really tied to the limits of a physical being, he could be travelling through magic all along. That would explain why he always seems to be right where needs to at the right time including how he got to the island which is still not 100% explained.
I'm starting to believe that the ability to damage Griffith is tied to the mental/spiritual energy of the one attacking him, entirely separate from their physical strength. Guts flies into a near mindless frenzy whenver he sees Griffith, meanwhile Rickert remained poised and was able to direct his anger without losing his sense of self.
Yeah I agree with your ideas. If you noticed every panel guts swung at griffith he had the berserk eye on his face. I don't think you can defeat the idea of evil by being consumed with revenge since your being a servant to your own dark motives. Being evil won't defeat its own ultimate God. So rickert being in control and coming from a more righteous place was able to make contact since griffith has no influence over those concepts. Just similar thoughts I've had re-reading, I thought lined up with what you were saying
This is a great theory. I would like to add how when Guts and Griffith inevitably will face off again, for Guts to be victorious he would have to clear his mind like he did during the battle on the snow mountain. I found it interesting how Miura portrayed Guts as calm during that battle. Miura did an excellent job showing Guts' emotional growth by paralleling that duel with their first duel years prior. I must admit though, I don't if I could be calm and not lose myself if I went through half the things that Griffith put Guts through. It's far easier said than done.

Remember Rickert promised to tell Silat what he knows about Griffith, so that’s most likely why him and the Kushans tracked guts down since they probably know about the eclipse, godhand, and Griffiths true nature.

Ever since the Rickert slapped Griffiths prettyboy face, Rickert moved way up my favorite Berserk character list. He didnt punch him, he didnt fight him. He gave him a BIATCHSLAP. Because he doesnt deserve more. Rickert. The Man. The Legend.
Would like to note that Daiba, if he's actually there, recognized the berserker armor and is probably the next best thing considering its creator is gone. Assuming he knows anything, I'm willing to bet good money.

I don't believe all of those Kushans are Bakiraka. Most of them must be remnants of Ganishka's mega army who survived their boss turning into a towering giga demon. And when your boss goes full Azatoth it's typically time to find a new job.

Since this arc is called "Eastern Exile", this more or less confirms that: 1. The Kushan Empire lies East of Midland 2. In a previous chapter Griffith said he will expand towards the East which means he is either expanding his Kingdom towards Ganishkas empire land OR he might gun towards the Bakiraka Hideout to get his revenge on Rickert
And: 3. Guts will leave his party on the Bakiraka Hideout at the hands of Roderick and Silat to go master the Berserker Armor AND tame the Beast Of Darkness with Skull-Knight because he thinks his group won't stand a chance against the armies of Falconia and the Pandemonium!
Eh I don't think Griffith is gunning for Rickert, the assassination was a ploy by Locus not him. I think there's something else there he wants, probably another tree or to snuff out Kushan mages.

To be fair, Serpico sliding off the side of the ship and grabbing onto the edge and swinging into a lower deck to avoid capture with Isidro was pretty impressive. I've tried doing similar stunts and it's not easy. It's too bad it was pointless page time though since Serpico and Isidro get caught off screen anyway

The point of the scene wasn’t to emphasise the jump itself but to show that Isidro and Serpico are making an escape from the invaders. Yeah Isidro compliments him but he compliments Serpico quite a lot - he can’t hold everyone to Guts’ standard that’d just be unfair. But yeah the scene is still pointless because it goes nowhere. I think Gaga should’ve managed their page count better there: either have Isidro and Serpico do something interesting or don’t set it up like they are and just say “nah” two pages later.
Describing it in more detail doesn't suddenly make it impressive by Berserk standards. When Isidro compliments him, it's always because he pulled off something incredible with his fethishes (near flight, killing a bunch of enemies, etc.) or noticed something the rest of the party didn't. He wouldn't gas up basic acrobatics as though Serpico hadn't done better 100 times over. As pointless as it is dumb.

It was blissful. I watch for like 3 days while i was on a two weeks break from work. The 3 days of watching it were the highlights of my two weeks break.

Naval Autist here. I have one gripe with the chapter. If the Kushans long prepared their journey to the Sea Horse, then by the time they arrived, the gang should've been able to see them coming from MILES away. Believe me, even in a storm, when a fleet of Xebecs come to you with thousands of men grunting and chanting, you see it coming.
I really really liked this chapter. My complaint was the like of dialogue post Miura, I was starting to worry the chapters would be more like storyboards. Glad that won’t be the case
Got to wonder why Rickert is in Kushan armor and surrounded by rank and file soldiers, shouldn't he be up with Silat and the others? I guess the case could be made that he wants to be in one of the first waves of the boarders to find Guts but part of me wonders if he's got to start from the bottom with the Kushans to get a decent amount of respect.
He knows what Guts can do and warned the Kushans about the monster with the massive sword. Assuming Guts is up and willing to kill, he had to be there to minimize kushan casualties as much as possible by telling guts they're with him.

Things I hope for the new arc : 1. the fight with Griffith and Guts OBVI! The final Battle!!! 2. Casca fighting her Demons, breaking out of the mind spell, and grabbing sword AND PURGE from the inside 3. Casca/Ricker saves Guts from the Beast. (Well not SAVE cause he prolly needs the beast to fight Griffith, but maybe bring him back) 4. I still don't know what to expect for their moon Child tho 5. I know someone we love is probably going to die, but i just hope TO GOD GRIFFITH DIES ASWELL 6. also not to make magic as a thing to solve almost all problems (the magic is gone now, but idk) 7. I honestly never expected to see Rickert again si soon and still so young. Considering he was going to live with an assasin clan I was expecting he would come back decades later maybe having picked up some fighting teqniques or atleast after inventing an entire arsenel of anti-aposal weaponry for an army to resist Griffith's kingdom.

You have to think that the final battle will involve Guts leading a force against Griffith, resembling his time with the Band of the Hawk. I theorized it may even have some hints of the Battle of Doldery where Griffith’s fixation with Guts will lead to his demise just like what happened to Gennon. But that’s just my theory anyway😂
Things are getting tense. Griffith wants to march his army east, the kushans i believe are hidden in the east, and now guts with any luck will go back to their hidden city and think of a plan on how to counter griffith who is again marching east. This can NOT be a good thing, but i sense a very big build up happening.
Finally the new chapter is out! Well done on the overview of this chapter and here's to hoping with the Kushans most likely being by Guts and the party's side, it will bring them closer to facing off the new Band of the Hawk and brining down Griffith's reign over the kingdom.
Looking and the newest chapters, and finding this….y’all, I really hope that Guts can truly grieve, and work through his grief with the party before what’s sure to be a grand finale. He’s always confronted himself, and his enemies, staying stoic and strong (at least, outwardly)but has he ever truly broken down and confronted his grief? Has he ever been truly vulnerable around his friends? I’m not sure anymore, and since feeble flame, he’s almost always put casca first. When I hit rock bottom and sobered up, I felt like he is now. Hardly able to move and an absolute wreck. Facing my grief, and having a support group helped me move forward and heal. I actually looked to guts, when I was going through all that. I admitted that I needed to relent and let God and people in my life, change my ways because I couldn’t do it alone. That strength that Guts gave me then has helped so much and carried me so far…man, I hope so hard the party and rickert (and maybe even Silat) can save Guts. That he can have that with them and allow himself to be saved from his beast of darkness. Then, he can go forth with them and save Casca

It’s amazing to have more Berserk finally be out after a while. I assume maybe it took a while because maybe Mori is trying to figure out this new arc and think clearly about how it’s gonna work out and everything like that. Anyway, this new chapter was pretty cool. Nothing too significant happened in it for most of it, but it was pretty obvious it was gonna focus on the Kushans taking the ship hostage and rounding everyone up. Some people have said them putting Guts in chains is supposed to be similar to the Beast Of Darkness being put in chains so that’s makes me wonder if that’ll actually hold him or if he’s gonna go crazy on them. The biggest twist in the chapter though was seeing that Rickert is with them. I totally thought that. I thought it would make perfect sense for Rickert to be with them and I was right. All I can say is that I think he’s gonna see Guts and try to help him and maybe he’ll explain what happened when he was in Falconia and maybe Guts can tell him what happened with Griffith destroying Elfhelm and so on and I still stand by my original statement that I think Guts, the rest of the party, Rickert, Erica and the Kushans are gonna team up to invade Falconia and fight Griffith and the rest of his Apostles and maybe this could result in everyone exposing Griffith for who he really is and we’ll have the final fight with Guts and Griffith. I heard somewhere that Miura said Guts would go off on his own for a while, so I don’t entirely know how that’s gonna work. Maybe Rickert convinces the Kushans to let Guts go from being a prisoner and maybe he decides to leave while the others make a plan to invade Falconia and maybe Guts comes back when he hears about it and tries to save everyone from dying and decides to also do it to save Casca.
I had a Dream Where Rickert and the Dwarf blacksmith will craft the weapon named "GodSlayer". Maybe with the Red Behalit taken from other god's hands. The other gods hands can be killed skull knight killed 4 !!

Well, as AlmightyLolli theorized in the video you watched before writing this comment. Wizards are able to sense each other’s “presence” through powerful forces. So Daiba probably located Schierke (assuming Daiba is with the invaders)

reminds me of that one chapter in attack on Titan when the forces of Eldia and Marley unite against Eren in the woods. From the looks of it, Berserk is either in the last arc, or the arc before the last arc.
In Berserk, every ray of hope is tinged with despair. Despite this seeming like a rescue mission, I think this is the moment that the seeds of true doubt and despair have been planted in Guts' mind and could lead to an eventual moment where he becomes desperate enough to use the Behelit to gain the power to defeat Griffith and get revenge, only to turn back at the last moment and not follow in his footsteps.
Man, onwards to the next arc! Is this the second to last arc of Beserk? Hell no! I feel this is just the beginning of quite a few arcs. If.... someone was going to ask how many, I would say about five at least. Maybe one less maybe one more, will see.
i thought the panels with the chains was the metaphorical chains holding the beast back, repairing themselves and locking the beast away again. in the previous chapter the beast was sitting on the broken chains. so close to breaking free and taking over gutz

The point of the scene wasn’t to emphasise the jump itself but to show that Isidro and Serpico are making an escape from the invaders. Yeah Isidro compliments him but he compliments Serpico quite a lot - he can’t hold everyone to Guts’ standard that’d just be unfair.
But yeah the scene is still pointless because it goes nowhere. I think Gaga should’ve managed their page count better there: either have Isidro and Serpico do something interesting or don’t set it up like they are and just say “nah” two pages later.
Describing it in more detail doesn't suddenly make it impressive by Berserk standards. When Isidro compliments him, it's always because he pulled off something incredible with his fethishes (near flight, killing a bunch of enemies, etc.) or noticed something the rest of the party didn't. He wouldn't gas up basic acrobatics as though Serpico hadn't done better 100 times over. As pointless as it is dumb.

Naval Autist here. I have one gripe with the chapter.
If the Kushans long prepared their journey to the Sea Horse, then by the time they arrived, the gang should've been able to see them coming from MILES away.
Believe me, even in a storm, when a fleet of Xebecs come to you with thousands of men grunting and chanting, you see it coming.

I really really liked this chapter. My complaint was the like of dialogue post Miura, I was starting to worry the chapters would be more like storyboards. Glad that won’t be the case
Got to wonder why Rickert is in Kushan armor and surrounded by rank and file soldiers, shouldn't he be up with Silat and the others? I guess the case could be made that he wants to be in one of the first waves of the boarders to find Guts but part of me wonders if he's got to start from the bottom with the Kushans to get a decent amount of respect.
He knows what Guts can do and warned the Kushans about the monster with the massive sword. Assuming Guts is up and willing to kill, he had to be there to minimize kushan casualties as much as possible by telling guts they're with him.

I was going to suggest that Rickert wants to translate for the Kushans, but Silat would be a way better candidate for that.

Things I hope for the new arc :
1. the fight with Griffith and Guts OBVI! The final Battle!!!
2. Casca fighting her Demons, breaking out of the mind spell, and grabbing sword AND PURGE from the inside
3. Casca/Ricker saves Guts from the Beast. (Well not SAVE cause he prolly needs the beast to fight Griffith, but maybe bring him back)
4. I still don't know what to expect for their moon Child tho
5. I know someone we love is probably going to die, but i just hope TO GOD GRIFFITH DIES ASWELL
6. also not to make magic as a thing to solve almost all problems (the magic is gone now, but idk)
7. Zodd also needs to die and honestly think only Skull Knight can do it

Ayyyyy our boy Rickert is back, and yeah there's a lot to talk about like if the Kushan raid was a rescue & led by Bakirakas does that mean Guts' going to team up with them ?
I honestly never expected to see Rickert again si soon and still so young. Considering he was going to live with an assasin clan I was expecting he would come back decades later maybe having picked up some fighting teqniques or atleast after inventing an entire arsenel of anti-aposal weaponry for an army to resist Griffith's kingdom.
This makes me feeling hopeful but still going to prepare myself just in case if the future chapter will b depressing

A lot of Berserk's high moments have always been bittersweet so it's at least not out of line with the overall mood even if some find it disappointing

You have to think that the final battle will involve Guts leading a force against Griffith, resembling his time with the Band of the Hawk. I theorized it may even have some hints of the Battle of Doldery where Griffith’s fixation with Guts will lead to his demise just like what happened to Gennon. But that’s just my theory anyway😂
Things are getting tense. Griffith wants to march his army east, the kushans i believe are hidden in the east, and now guts with any luck will go back to their hidden city and think of a plan on how to counter griffith who is again marching east. This can NOT be a good thing, but i sense a very big build up happening.
Finally the new chapter is out! Well done on the overview of this chapter and here's to hoping with the Kushans most likely being by Guts and the party's side, it will bring them closer to facing off the new Band of the Hawk and brining down Griffith's reign over the kingdom.
Looking and the newest chapters, and finding this….y’all, I really hope that Guts can truly grieve, and work through his grief with the party before what’s sure to be a grand finale. He’s always confronted himself, and his enemies, staying stoic and strong (at least, outwardly)but has he ever truly broken down and confronted his grief? Has he ever been truly vulnerable around his friends? I’m not sure anymore, and since feeble flame, he’s almost always put casca first. When I hit rock bottom and sobered up, I felt like he is now. Hardly able to move and an absolute wreck. Facing my grief, and having a support group helped me move forward and heal. I actually looked to guts, when I was going through all that. I admitted that I needed to relent and let God and people in my life, change my ways because I couldn’t do it alone. That strength that Guts gave me then has helped so much and carried me so far…man, I hope so hard the party and rickert (and maybe even Silat) can save Guts. That he can have that with them and allow himself to be saved from his beast of darkness. Then, he can go forth with them and save Casca
Oh, and we may finally learn the difference between eastern and "normal" magic~~
In one of the previous chapters, a witch mentions that Rickertt will be important in the futures.

Griffith never really perceived Rickert to be a threat. The slap sorta came from left field. OR Griffith let it happen cuz of causality and the Godhand manipulating reality and shit
@@Cairo40000 to my knowledge griffith can see bits of the future but not all of it. Those with the brand can exist outside of casuality. However the boy is not branded thus he still exists within the flow.

It’s amazing to have more Berserk finally be out after a while. I assume maybe it took a while because maybe Mori is trying to figure out this new arc and think clearly about how it’s gonna work out and everything like that. Anyway, this new chapter was pretty cool. Nothing too significant happened in it for most of it, but it was pretty obvious it was gonna focus on the Kushans taking the ship hostage and rounding everyone up. Some people have said them putting Guts in chains is supposed to be similar to the Beast Of Darkness being put in chains so that’s makes me wonder if that’ll actually hold him or if he’s gonna go crazy on them. The biggest twist in the chapter though was seeing that Rickert is with them. I totally thought that. I thought it would make perfect sense for Rickert to be with them and I was right. All I can say is that I think he’s gonna see Guts and try to help him and maybe he’ll explain what happened when he was in Falconia and maybe Guts can tell him what happened with Griffith destroying Elfhelm and so on and I still stand by my original statement that I think Guts, the rest of the party, Rickert, Erica and the Kushans are gonna team up to invade Falconia and fight Griffith and the rest of his Apostles and maybe this could result in everyone exposing Griffith for who he really is and we’ll have the final fight with Guts and Griffith. I heard somewhere that Miura said Guts would go off on his own for a while, so I don’t entirely know how that’s gonna work. Maybe Rickert convinces the Kushans to let Guts go from being a prisoner and maybe he decides to leave while the others make a plan to invade Falconia and maybe Guts comes back when he hears about it and tries to save everyone from dying and decides to also do it to save Casca.
And now they will all learn who Guts was and where he came from. I’m so glad Rickert is back

Well, its kinda nice to see Guts on his feet again, albeit he's not in a very good condition rn after he vomited from the Golden Age-referenced vision he had when he lifted his sword.
The Boys are back in town! I felt something was up with the Kushians not immediately slaughtering the crew, I just had that gut feeling Rickert was with them or they were following orders from Silat and the Bakiraka.

2. How did the Kushan know where Guts even was. Its not like Rickert knew or the Kushan knew. The only people who knew where they were going was the main cast and Rodericks crew. So my only guess is the Kushan used some kind of magic to find them, im thinking Daiba. Idk

In Berserk, every ray of hope is tinged with despair. Despite this seeming like a rescue mission, I think this is the moment that the seeds of true doubt and despair have been planted in Guts' mind and could lead to an eventual moment where he becomes desperate enough to use the Behelit to gain the power to defeat Griffith and get revenge, only to turn back at the last moment and not follow in his footsteps.

i thought the panels with the chains was the metaphorical chains holding the beast back, repairing themselves and locking the beast away again. in the previous chapter the beast was sitting on the broken chains. so close to breaking free and taking over gutz
