I actually appreciate how long each chapter takes to come out. Shows that Mori is taking all the time necessary to stay true to Miura's vision and plans. He's not rushing this, he knows how important it is.
weve waited so long for berserk to get to this far, at this point id rather they take their time to make it the best it can be, if they at all rushed it just to finish it and get it out of the way it would be an insult to muiras work
I wouldn't mind so much if it was at least had a regular or set schedule. Waiting for months on months for who knows how many chapters or if they'll be absurdly short hurts. I know they're hard at work but more updates or regularity would give fans some peace of mind.
Why can't they make another anime and give us just another arc worth of material and give us something else to wait for. Why can't we get the black swordsmen arc again and then finish the rest of the arc with grunbeld
So is it mildly alarming to anyone else how much what Guts is going through right now almost parallels what eventually led to Griffith activating the behelit? First Guts loses a sword fight with Griffith because of either Griffith plot armor or just lacking the resolve. He then loses the person he cares about the most and starts to immensely spiral down emotionally. Then he's captured and imprisoned and having a dream involving the astral realm like a parallel to when Griffith had the dream where he saw the Godhand. It almost feels like we're getting a condensed version of that spiral without the physical torture. With them taking the Berserker armor off of him and having him deal with his withered state it's similar to Griffith after the torture where he realizes he's just a shell of himself. Literally the only way this would almost be a more complete parallel is if they use the mind control that they're using on Casca as a way to make it seem like she's pro-Griffith now.
Maybe we might get a case where Guts is put in the same exact position as Griffith was at the time. Except, unlike Grifith guts doesn't accept the offer to be a god-hand?
@@supergogetamario Can they just appear in the middle of the Kushian empire like that? I know they're eldritch reality defying being but the magic there has to do something about that right?
My entire theory that I've been thinking about for weeks now, is that guts gets approached by the idea of good. Although a very weakened idea of good considering the state of the world, he gets told how to defeat Griffith and the god hand to restore balance
That was what I got from it. The Beast of Darkness loitering, unable to manifest but circling like a shark. Just out of view, letting us know it's still there.
One thing i noticed about the blank space is that the pattern of the dots looks a lot like the eye of the beast of darkness maybe its just me being crazy but it looks like the beasts eye which means a few things It could be more proof of guts blindness the only oart of his vision left is the part marked by rage or more hopefully it could be more like the beasts influence being taken away daiba says it herself she is the girl who can rein in the beast so what if shirke is directly holding back the beast guts dream could've been that the overwhelming power being guts inside of the beast and shirke touching him was a way of pushing him out of the beasts control My theory is the beast is something bigger then we know its not apart of guts its just something that exists in the world like the idea of evil just like how getting posessed by spirits brings out someone's most base instincts im thinking that the beast of darkness tries to do the same thing we can even assume skull knight might have his own beast of darkness because of the old shape ofbthe berserker armor i think the beast of darkness either is the idea of evil or a form of ot for people not desten to use behelets the berserker armor transforming the user into a monster like a behelet we dont know what happened to skull knight but since he isn't a traditional apostle he could be anything i think that with the berserker armor and the beast of darkness they transformed him into that and they want to do the same to guts
Correct me if I am wrong but: as you pointed out, the Beast of Darkness may be something that exists in the world, it's just manifesting through Guts due to his rage and hate. Something I can't help but think, wasn't there a reference of sorts back in Conviction shortly after Lost Children? Where all the souls of the damned were following Guts and one (or possible more) panel(s) had them take the (rough) shape of the Beast?
@@Stevin20687yes , there is exactly that and i always found strange how the spirits knew about the beast if it does exist only in guts mind 😮 , so it has to be real in the astral world or else where
I'm pretty sure it was just showing it was night time. If you look at the beach chapter specifically it matches the night sky with the dark blotches being clouds... Just my opinion...
Really brother? 😮.. I wanted that it should really end in next 1-2 years.. It's really a long time for anime I mean more than 28 years... They should hurry a lil bit.. If they haven't delayed this much I bet there is no anime close to this one in every thing.. But the only thing that didn't let it reach the heights was time.. Sorry my first language isn't english.. A bit of a stratch but it might have belonged to the Empire that was at war with Middenland duing the golden age arc. At surface level im equating them to Byzantine Empire.
@@baconjakin4442He's basically saying that just because someone close to the author has access to notes which cover the ending in broad strokes it doesn't mean they'll have any idea what they're doing when it finally comes time to hash out the details.
Taking a wild guess here. Strap in, it's a long one. Now I believe Miura himself said in an interview that Guts was about to leave the party and go with the Skull Knight for information on what to do next, which would transition into Gaiseric's history and what happened to him. Meanwhile, the other party members would split up, gather essentials for the coming fight, and then the climax would bring them all together on the same battlefield. My theory on Guts' direction for the finale has two possible outcomes. Berserker Ending: Guts is going to follow Skull Knight's example and turn his sword into the Dragon Slayer of Actuation. He'll bring the Berserker Armor with him, but he's banking on only using it for the climax, as it will absolutely be the last time he ever fights. He intends to die from his confrontation with Griffith, or he'll allow his friends to kill him so he won't harm them. It'll be a self-sacrifice ending, which would normally be a bad outcome because that puts Guts in the vortex of Hell, but I've got a little idea on how that actually WON'T be the case here. So a Branded person dies in service to the one who sacrifices them, right? Well, what would happen if a person who agreed to sacrifice someone died BEFORE their victim did? That could potentially negate the effects of the Brand. I think if Guts kills Griffith before he dies himself, he won't be Hellbound because the person who gave him up as an offering is now dead. I imagine if this happened, it would result in both him and Casca dying in battle just after Griffith does, and instead of being thrust into Hell without any say, they (along with their baby, who is no longer held hostage by Griffith) journey through the Astral Plane together, aided by other deceased spirits like Flora. This would fit with Miura's plans to give them a happy ending, and also tie into Guts' self-sacrificing nature. But the second possible outcome, I like WAY more, because it involves Guts finding an even better option than Skull Knight's eternal undead rage. Cardinal Spirit Ending: There's been some information about four Cardinal Spirits that exist to give help to people when they need it. Specifically four. It's entirely possible that these are the good-natured equivalents to the Godhand, or better yet, these are the TRUE Godhand, and the Godhand we've seen all along just stole the name from the REAL ones, kind of like Griffith reusing the Band of the Hawk title for his demon army to deceive people. After all, they ARE false angels serving a false, manmade deity that perpetuates human suffering. If this is the case, I wanna believe that Guts will be approached by the Cardinal Spirits in some way. They'll explain that they've been watching his struggle and growth the whole time, and they'll give him an offer to aid them against the Godhand by becoming their FIFTH MEMBER, possibly a daemon, or an angel of justice. Not only will Guts become the LITERAL parallel to Griffith and vanquish him effortlessly, but he'll have the Brand of Sacrifice outright removed from him as part of the deal, no longer making him Hellbound against his will. Obviously, Casca would need the same treatment. She's in danger, too. Maybe the Cardinal Spirits will agree to aid her as an extra favor for Guts, or as a charitable act to help a member of their spiritual family. This deal would come at a price, though. Guts would have to leave his human life behind, embracing an ethereal existence to aid others on Earth who are vulnerable to demons. It's the literal opposite of the Godhand. Instead of betraying other people to embrace your mortal desires, you give up your familiar mortal life to guarantee a happier existence for your brothers and sisters, and by extension, earn a greater, everlasting life for yourself. Whether it means leaving Casca behind as well, I don't know. Maybe he'd be allowed to take her with him to the Astral Plane as part of the deal, or maybe she'd make a deal with the angels herself. Either way, it would be an incredible sendoff that calls back to Guts' "Come with me" from Golden Age. Instead of taking her with him on his journey to become a better swordsman on his own terms (a mostly self-serving goal), he would be bringing the love of his life on a holy journey to fight for the sake of mankind. A true happy ending where Guts and Casca essentially make it to Heaven, and become some of God's strongest soldiers. Reuniting with their child could also happen. If the Cardinal Spirits are the stronger equivalent to the Godhand, perhaps they can free him from Griffith during the finale. I'm also curious about Guts' final confrontation with Griffith possibly ending in one strike, like their duel on the mountain in Golden Age. Guts would go into battle completely calm, focused, ready, and impossible for Griffith to read, which would drive him crazy. Guts would have to let go of his desire for revenge and simply fight if necessary, to protect Casca. Said it before, and I'll say it again. The desire and intent CAN affect the outcome. And it would again confirm that Guts was NEVER Griffith's equal. He was always his superior.
I love both endings honestly, the 2nd being my favorite as I am what's known as a Christian, and I have believed myself that it would have a similar ending with the other hand being a righteous Godhand and assisting him since Guts has shown that he's more than just a fish in the water. I really think the fans will put out many MANY fan-made endings over the next decade or so and I bet all kinds of things will be brought about by speculation, which may be as great thing... We'll see, but to be completely honest I don't think that the 2nd you mentioned will happen as beautifully as you explained but it would absolutely be the best outcome I've ever heard. There's nothing really better than eternal peace for someone like Guts so let's just hope and pray that's where this is headed.
@@stefvanroey8191 Well. I am not saying that the story has to end right then and there, you know. Maybe the final War against Falconia can be its own multiple chapter event, with twist and turns and char moments. Only thing i want is to see this bomb explode. Just saying.
Oh wow, thanks for keeping me up to date when the chapters come out, it takes so long I sometimes forget to check. Also lets not forget how you beautifully covered the ENTIRE story
I'm disabled after breaking my neck and back and the berserker armor sounds very very similar to living your life on pain medication. It's so bad for you in so many ways. But with living in constant agony, using pain medication is the only way I can function somewhat like a normal human being.
My fiance is the same way. He's a marine vet with a torn acl, shrapnel throughout his body tearing through his nerves, right arm slipping out of the socket constantly because there's only 2 ligaments left holding his shoulder together and refuses to be dependent on pain meds again because he doesn't want to be an addict the way it made him after he 1st got out. I see so much of him when I see Guts, (even the resemblance is uncanny) this story hits so close I'm so much more emotionally invested in it because of it. I almost feel like with as fucked up and damaged Guts is, maybe there might be hope in a damaged and fucked up veteran to come back and find a life of connection and meaning again.
You got me and my brother back into berserk. We both watched the 21 hour video together at least 3 times now. Thank you for your hard work and getting so many new eyes onto this story. Love the vids man
Last time I saw a volume off a boat I was a kid... Now I'm married in my 40s with 5 kids. Edit: The black Panel at the beginning could actually be this, that Guts "Beast of Darkness" is now dormant that the armor is off. Just my opinion.
You’re gonna be in your 80s and guess what… they are gonna be on another boat traveling to fight Griffith. BUT FRAY NOT, FOR YOUR KIDS WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH GUTS ARRIVE AND KILL GRIFFITH AFTER ANOTHER 20-30 YEARS.
10:08 to add something to this whole section. When i first red the chapter, my mind immediately went to beast of darkness, mainly due to how similar the pattern is to the beasts eye. But the eye theory is prolly the most reasonable interpretation.
The idea that he's going blind does fit and I agree. He is no longer recieving the enhancements of the Berserker Armor and with it gone, it is basically robbing his sight and other senses, including emotion. Though him envisioning Scheirke might be leftover senses being shared for a brief time. She herself felt something similar when putting back the talisman into Guts. Though the fact we can't even tell if she was real or if she was partially real, makes you think just how far gone he is. Some have noted how similar Guts' descent is very similar to how Griffith transformed into Femto. Either way... that call to war with THE BAND OF THE HAWK might wake him up for better or worse than this catatonic state. Some have also noted there might be spies present.
Don’t think he’s lost his sight personally. It seems to be implied that he loses his senses only after using the armor (the white hair being the most obvious example). I can’t see him being fully blind permanently, more than likely if he is, it’s due to his shattered psyche rather than the armor taking it away, and therefore is fixable. That’s my opinion though.
@@kugelblitzkrieg The blindness is fitting because he has fully lost sight of his life goal being completely stripped away. Casca. Not even just that, during his time recovering on the boat he could barely make out the light in front of him. I agree he isn't completely blind though I'd say he has become near-sighted with the toll paid from wearing the armor to now the damage to his soul wearing down all of his senses. He could be healed or he could find a means to tame the beast with aid from the Kushan gods.
I actually thought that black speckled panel was a front pov shot of the beast. The way the speckles are arranged, it looked like an eye and half of the mouth of the beast. That may be good news as we know the beast is weakened without the armour!
11:20 it might be an illustration of what’s going on inside him. “The beast of DARKNESS” and how it’s consumed him but there’s still specks of light within (shrike and the others trying to save him.)
It’s just a way for t n to avoid him saying or doing anything meaningful. Just like they have been doing with so many characters since the start of this continuation. If you’re looking for an in story explanation why Puck acted like that you won’t find one. There’s not rationalizing it. Terrible how studio Gaga and Mori treat Puck. Would be better to just not show him at all. Instead they make him stare blankly like a psychopath.
Hey, huge fan of you, thanks for helping get through the monster of a manga that is Berserk. Without you I probably would have been stuck at Mellinium Falcon by now. 10:11 the black panel with white dots on it, for me when I first saw it, looked vaguely like the beast of darkness' eye. The shape the white dots take seem intentional. It could be that the effect of BoD is weakened but still there, implying that even without the Berserker Armor, there is no escaping its claw. It could also be a double meaning as well. Edit: I just realize a lot of people already commented that god damn
You are the one who got me into loving berserk! Watched all them hours you put into berserk. Not gonna lie when i was younger, i hated berserk only because i saw a little bit of the casa eclipse without knowing nothing! Took until i matured and your videos! Appreciate it
Kinda weird Puck wouldn't say anything to Rikurt. I mean he might not remember him, but hes one of the most talkative characters in the series. Something is up.
What’s up is that Mori and studio Gaga just don’t know what to do with Puck or don’t know how he would react well enough in this situation. That’s it. There’s no in story explanation. Puck didn’t forget Rickert when they met up again for the second time. He wouldn’t randomly forget him now. He definitely wouldn’t just stare blankly at everything either.
@@rucaud8931 Actually what's up (and I know this because Studio Gaga is my uncle) is that Puck has THE COOLEST and MOST BADASS arc ever coming up to make up for the multiple chapters of star wars jokes during Miura's final days, trust me it's gonna be WILD
Even if Guts gets back on his feet the big issue before taking on Griffith is getting the Beast under control, I doubt it will be as simple as the power of friendship to get him through this. But if it does go down the path, the consequences will probably be dire to reach that goal.
Couldn't the black panel be a faded version of the beast of darkness? If you try to see it you can see the eye and mouth, it would also fit with guts not having the armor on.
WOAH. You got it out way sooner. Going to comment again after watching since I know it helps a bit more than Liking the video, though that helps too in a small way. Sharing with a friend.
Don't have this quite worked out but here a thought I had. Berserk follows a flow of good thing happens followed by bad thing. So what if coming up to the end we see a inverse of that. Guts is beaten down more then ever and is losing everything possible as demonstrated by the sight loss. So what if after a few more losses and sinking things turn around and Guts comes back stronger then ever some how... Like I said it's a inverse of the flow idea and I don't think Berserk will have a bad ending do it as it seems that it would kind of go against the thesis of the story that being how much one person can push back against evil and the effects it will have. Undoubtedly Guts is one of the characters that has ever suffered the most and I think that's the point to demonstrate being able to over come hardships and the importance of doing so. A little muddled of a thought I know.
Yeah, it's really the wait between chapters that'll make perfectly fine story moments seem longer than what they are. It's getting that cliffhanger when you really want to binge and continue reading/watching. As someone who's writing and drawing illustrations of my stories, that's the most agonizing part of being that kind of creator, you want to share the tales and scenes you have in your mind (granted, you want to share the full versions than just the ideas). Especially when you're reading manga/comics/graphic novels, you're not going through descriptive paragraphs. You see the art and read the corresponding dialogue. And it leaving you wanting more is what makes the wait painful
I was very staggered when I saw the Kushan capital was just Constantinople, I wish they had leaned more into an Indian influence, but oh well, its beautiful anyway.
I mean they did have essentially a sultan and arab warriors all over. Daiba is the only one that really leans more towards hindu. Everything else just basically screamed Ottoman empire vibes.
Your idea about the knock-off Hagia Sofia being a holy site lines up quite well with the beginning of the chapter. Guts being swept away by an overwhelming tide of power certainly points to an exceptionally powerful being living in the astral plane. Maybe a very powerful head priest type character or something like an avatar of their god in human form.
A few interesting points that I read on things like Reddit: - it seems weird that the Kushan empire seems to not be affected by the sudden existence of things such as dragons (maybe the event didn’t reach that far?) - Why is Silat now in a leading position in the Kushan empire? Weren’t the Bakiraka more or less exiled? And what happened to the plan of going to the Bakiraka hidden village? - The artists seem to avoid the usage of chestnut-puck (this might be because Guts is down bad right now). - The story unsurprisingly lacks "downtime" character and world refinement because the animators need to work off of the notes of Muria. - It‘s hard to imagine a way for the kushans to ever possibly defeat Griffith (although who knows what one can achieve with magique ✨ ). (- one person also criticized Daiba being astounded by Schierke being able to astraly project because that is something that novices already learn; not sure if this is a correct statement.) - the elders seems a lot less impressive and active than one might except (compared to Daiba). - I personally feel like Daiba as a character needs more time in the story for the reader to actually trust him. Everything seems a bit rushed. The chapter (similar the the last one) seems to be a lot faster paced than for example the boat arc; this, while mostly good, does however kind of result too much of show-don’t-tell story, where way too many questions arise for the viewer (what do the scenes with Guts mean, a few weird comments from people like Silat [why did he act like he‘d forgotten Guts‘ name?], what do the others think, especially the weird scene with Puck and so on). Some of these questions do, of course, simply arise becausenow the setup for a new arc begins. On a more positive note, the art just keeps getting better and better (things like the background can feel a bit empty but that does mean less time between chapter releases [although this still took six months, likely due to the effort of adapting Muria‘s notes as proper as possible]).
I get the feeling that Miura knew where he was going but didn't keep extensive notes about every character's development so whatever character development he came up could compliment the plot and not distract from it or mess with the pacing. Berserk always had a good balance of the two and would go back and forth between plot and character so that would be my guess. I've always done the same thing and found that works very well but it could just be that we haven't gotten to those character development parts yet since it seems like there also hasn't really space in the plot for it. There's not too much room for character development when your ship is getting boarded and everyone gets captured. Although it did feel weird that there wasn't more to Fantasia's fall. Especially since you'd expect an action sequence where people have to escape the island.
well with Ganeshka dying I think Silat was able to seize power because of the void he left and Ganeshka was a pretty tyrannical ruler. And maybe 'Silat has some smoking gun that might make people realize the Falcon of Light is just trying to fool all of them
- Who's to say they aren't struggling to ward them off? Obviously they (and even the far smaller Bakiraka village) are still around in Fantasia. They didn't vanish overnight. The point is only Falconia isn't absolutely struggling. -Ganishka was overthrown and months and months have passed (time on Elfhelm). They've already come and gone to the hidden village. Hell, Erika might still be there. If they actually thought we'd literally see the linear journey piece by piece, they've never read Berserk. -They're actually complaining that Puck has something important to do again? He's been featured again prominently with Guts for a reason -Examples? I haven't noticed this at all. Too much is happening to just sit down and do nothing and characters still have moments (Manifico and Azan's actions were just comedy and didn't need to be included at all if story only mattered) -Daiba uses fundamentally different magic than mages. It's a novice technique for them but Daiba might be completely unaware of it on the Kushan end. We've never seen him do it at all when there have been several situations for him TO. He obviously is unaware of the technique. -The mages LITERALLY stated they've either already lost or are losing their powers from the loss of the island... What are they supposed to do right now? The shell-shock on top of it all too. Them and Morda are still being shown so obviously they will still have things to do coming up.
With the vanishing of the elf realm, the few mages still around are running on fumes; Daiba and Schierke are the only two sorcerers powerful enough to lend a hand. Guts and co. are now refugees, and will be drafted for the upcoming war. So, Guts needs to get it together, 'cause it'll either joining the military or staying in jail; those are his two options. Silat too needs to plan things out before rushing into war, lest he ends up getting everyone else killed.
For a moment I thought that black panel was him remembering looking over the mercenary camp with casca, and the white specks are campfires and torches… Needless to say my heart wants my theory to be true instead of yours. My heart will break if our man is forced into the armour just to SEE.
Crazy how for years guts was just a man who can survive anything but now he’s broken and can’t even have the will to resist what’s happening. I really feel for my boy
It might be my imagination, but the dark starry panel almost looks like the fading shape of the Beast of Darkness. Like the stars are following a similar shape as the eye and teeth we see so often. Speculation is fun.
Going out on a whim here but that black panel could also be a representation of the beast "sleeping" and that they will have it slowly open its eyes (the white specks) throughout the chapter
about that dark shot, the white specks are in the shape of the beast of darkness's eye. Likely referencing that its influence is gone from him for now (But still present)
Awesome that we get to see the Kushan homeland. I love the Kushan in general, it was a really bold and interesting idea on Miura's part to introduce an Indian empire to his Medieval European setting. Even though their role is more similar to the Ottoman Empire (perhaps the Not!Hagia Sophia reinforces this?)
I thought it could have been Guts in that abyss he sunk into back on the boat in the chapter immediately following the destruction of Elfhelm. The abyss that looked similar to the one Griffith went to when joining the Godhand.
I like the theory of schierke and guts having some form of connection because it seems so similar to the bond that skull knight and flora might've had? maybe there's some line of causality or something here idk
In the panel where guts is chained in the dungeon, i loved the black quadrant to the right side. To me, it looked like the eye of the beast of darkness, kinda dissolving into mist - signaling guts regaining himself. That could be cope tho- cus your explanation would also make a ton of sense but way darker implications.
10:15 my theory is that guts is actually sleeping. And while dreaming he notices that spirit path. Like hes slowly learning to astral project naturally since he doesn't have the armor. Which adds to why shrike helps him out. Dude was probably just drifting along the astral road lol n the shock from being saved by someone familiar woke him up. Also adding that shrike is still traveling.
@@rucaud8931 That put me off so much when i heard Loli say her name, i thought hes just fucking with us, but it seems he LEGIT is not able to say her name correctly.
If you look at the panel where Schriek's arm had touched Guts hand, and it shows Gut's chained hand; you would see that it has a white glow or aura around it. They are showing us the reader that something significant is going to happen to Guts that will tip the ballance of power towards his side. Right now he is not wearing the berserk armor, which is a good thing, he should be free from the beast of darkness influnce for now. Maybe the implications for that dream is that Guts will somehow be able to draw some form of energy or power from the Atral realm and use it in the physical world somehow.
Good Lord?! What’s it gonna take for the world, or heck, the big studios to understand that a well-made, quality animation of Berserk would be bigger in terms of reach, profit, and controversy (we all know controversy sells) than any other anime or animation, like Castlevania (which was pretty good), Arcane was excellent too, Invincible, Scavenger Reign, and Blue Samurai, and Attack Titan and thousands of others wouldn’t hold a candle to Berserk. Some billionaire oughta dump truckloads of money into investment, and I tell you what, they’d get it back threefold no matter the artist’s style. What matters is keeping the core essence of this work intact, and that’s it
when i saw the white dots on that black panel, I thought that the basic outline looks like the beast of darkness' eye. I thought that maybe it implied the beast was "away", either because of what happened with schrike in the the dream thing guts was doing or simply because guts wasn't wearing the armor.
I never thought of it that way but you might be right. Without the armor Guts can barely see. And he might be full blown blind or close to it. Thanks for that
If you want my unsolicited opinion on that one panel with the "stars": The overall formation looks, to me, to contain the oh-so-vague resemblance of the eye of the Beast of Darkness. It's got that distinctive zig-zag pattern. My theory is that it's showing how, without the Berserker Armour, the Beast's influence is greatly lessened on Guts - though not gone entirely. It's still there, if faintly, looming in the back of his mind, ceaselessly haunting him as he struggles with his most crushing defeat yet. The Beast feeds off Guts' negative emotions and Guts is at what is easily his lowest point yet. The Beast, even if weakened by the lack of the Armour, is giddily watching Guts spiral into hopeless depression. One could even speculate it could potentially be why the Armour didn't activate when Guts attempted to attack Griffith back in Elfhelm; the Beast - a part of Guts' psyche and also a curse manifesting as a demonic consciousness slowly possessing him - has some influence over the Armour and wanted to ensure Guts lost. He's not alone in that cell.
Berserk is a reflection of our world and human nature from what I get from reading it. Just caught up to everything. Berserk came into my life exactly when I needed it and it's become my top manga. Keep up berserk content everyone. This truly is a masterpiece
You gotta be 100% on point with the Guts going blind theory. Looking at his eye in the close-up above the black panel, I noticed it looks lighter/greyish and seems cloudy while (off the top of my head) there's usually more darkness in similar panels, especially because of the shadows. It sadly makes too much sense...

And that could possibly culminate in Guts being approached by the four Cardinal Spirits mentioned by Shierke, and receiving an offer from them...
What if the temple that guts is near draws beings that are different to the god hand?
My entire theory that I've been thinking about for weeks now, is that guts gets approached by the idea of good. Although a very weakened idea of good considering the state of the world, he gets told how to defeat Griffith and the god hand to restore balance
Thought the Black panel was more a nudge towards the beasts of darkness eyes beeing dimmed, but Still there. IT Has the shape
That was what I got from it. The Beast of Darkness loitering, unable to manifest but circling like a shark. Just out of view, letting us know it's still there.

One thing i noticed about the blank space is that the pattern of the dots looks a lot like the eye of the beast of darkness maybe its just me being crazy but it looks like the beasts eye which means a few things
It could be more proof of guts blindness the only oart of his vision left is the part marked by rage or more hopefully it could be more like the beasts influence being taken away daiba says it herself she is the girl who can rein in the beast so what if shirke is directly holding back the beast guts dream could've been that the overwhelming power being guts inside of the beast and shirke touching him was a way of pushing him out of the beasts control
My theory is the beast is something bigger then we know its not apart of guts its just something that exists in the world like the idea of evil just like how getting posessed by spirits brings out someone's most base instincts im thinking that the beast of darkness tries to do the same thing we can even assume skull knight might have his own beast of darkness because of the old shape ofbthe berserker armor i think the beast of darkness either is the idea of evil or a form of ot for people not desten to use behelets the berserker armor transforming the user into a monster like a behelet we dont know what happened to skull knight but since he isn't a traditional apostle he could be anything i think that with the berserker armor and the beast of darkness they transformed him into that and they want to do the same to guts
That's what I thought too initially, reminded me of the beast of darkness eyes!
If the bod indeed is a (demonic) being, it must be pretty strong since it also appeared in that cave that was safe from monsters, iirc.

A bit of a stratch but it might have belonged to the Empire that was at war with Middenland duing the golden age arc. At surface level im equating them to Byzantine Empire.
@lukalovric2463 They called themselves The Chudor Empire I think.
And some of their members kinda had a Byzantine vibe to them, so I can see it.
You saw the Forum Romanum, Tmöle of Artemis, the Collosseum, the Tomb of Mausolus and some other references in Falconia.

Whaddayamean?
What’s this mean?
On another note what happened to the skull night?
Rickert converted to islam and became the Lisan al-Gaib while Guts will serve as his Duncan Idaho protector.
You're branded forever, whether the sacrificer dies or not.

The way I interpreted the white speckles is that’s how little of himself he has left before he fully gives into the beast
The struggle never ends. On we go to the next arc and towards what may be the final battle.

Can't believe Schierke is going for the telefrag strat on Griffith. What a pro gamer move.

I actually thought that black speckled panel was a front pov shot of the beast. The way the speckles are arranged, it looked like an eye and half of the mouth of the beast. That may be good news as we know the beast is weakened without the armour!

I love how another chapter and another moment of guts just training his ass in sitting
I have a feeling that the night sky panel is a reference back to when Guts was a kid running from Gambinos men.
10:12 I thought this was the eye of the beast of darkness and the way it's shown here I thought it implied it's receding.

Hearing the ominous theme from Fable adds so much to this already amazing video. ;D
A few interesting points that I read on things like Reddit:
- it seems weird that the Kushan empire seems to not be affected by the sudden existence of things such as dragons (maybe the event didn’t reach that far?)
- Why is Silat now in a leading position in the Kushan empire? Weren’t the Bakiraka more or less exiled? And what happened to the plan of going to the Bakiraka hidden village?
- The artists seem to avoid the usage of chestnut-puck (this might be because Guts is down bad right now).
- The story unsurprisingly lacks "downtime" character and world refinement because the animators need to work off of the notes of Muria.
- It‘s hard to imagine a way for the kushans to ever possibly defeat Griffith (although who knows what one can achieve with magique ✨ ).
(- one person also criticized Daiba being astounded by Schierke being able to astraly project because that is something that novices already learn; not sure if this is a correct statement.)
- the elders seems a lot less impressive and active than one might except (compared to Daiba).
With the release of the Chapters and the time it takes
They probably can't afford to have down time
I get the feeling that Miura knew where he was going but didn't keep extensive notes about every character's development so whatever character development he came up could compliment the plot and not distract from it or mess with the pacing.
He's been featured again prominently with Guts for a reason
-Examples? I haven't noticed this at all. Too much is happening to just sit down and do nothing and characters still have moments (Manifico and Azan's actions were just comedy and didn't need to be included at all if story only mattered)
-Daiba uses fundamentally different magic than mages.
For a moment I thought that black panel was him remembering looking over the mercenary camp with casca, and the white specks are campfires and torches…
Needless to say my heart wants my theory to be true instead of yours.

Yaay! New Berserk!
The art looks fantastic, Mori and his team are doing Miura proud
Going out on a whim here but that black panel could also be a representation of the beast "sleeping" and that they will have it slowly open its eyes (the white specks) throughout the chapter
Waiting for more chapters in Berserk is so utterly torturous 😅
about that dark shot,
the white specks are in the shape of the beast of darkness's eye.
Yep I see them as that, Indian in faith, culture and aesthetics, but ottoman in terms of goals of conquering the west
11:23 that could also be a faint outline of the beast of darknesses eye
7:06 Nah Puck voice actor was just out of town for the weekend and so Studio Gaga just kept him quite for this part.
You are a legend sir..
Not sure why the video maker and you keep pronouncing her name as Shrike when it’s spelled Schierke and pronounced “sheer-keh”
@@rucaud8931 That put me off so much when i heard Loli say her name, i thought hes just fucking with us, but it seems he LEGIT is not able to say her name correctly.
How delightful
Love these chapter breakdowns. No one had mentioned that part of the panel
Three years have gone by since the passing of Kentaro Miura. Rest easy king.
I knew i rewarched all 22 hours over the weekend for a reason.
Finished yesterday, this drops just after
good backround Music 👍
I saw the thumnail and reflexively shouted "oh hell yes"
Thanks for that
Keep up the great work man! Love the videos as always.
Yooooo I’ve been looking forward to this bby !! 🎉
Miura mentioned that it's going to be a happy ending when it's all done . I hope mori and his team are able to execute it .
This truly is a masterpiece
these vids r so cozy
That was the exact takeaway i got from the black panel next to Guts in the prison
2:18 it's stars my dude
Another banger my guy. I appreciate all you do.
11:33 to add to your theory, his "good" eye also seems to be slightly cloudier in this panel but that could just be the angle
I was born on the boat and I honestly thought I’d die on the boat
Love your videos man your streams keep me motivated before work i hope you keep growing
