Crazy how 1 season after Solstice we get a better Strand rocket, so the only non cosmetic thing actually added to Solstice this year was almost immediately power crept out of the sandbox, dead on arrival.

The machine gun is fair, provided you are SMG close. The fusion rifle has a REALLY slow fire time. The hand cannon is decent, the sniper rifle is only good if you are close as its range is "meh" and the scout rifle is good.
I was super excited for Kept Confidence...until I saw that it didn’t have Hatchling. I have a multiKC roll, but I just don't like it for add clearing. I really enjoy the new High Ground perk. Been absolutely LOVING Envious Assassin/Controlled Burst Eremite. And I didn't even have to craft it! Looks absolutely wicked with the Valkyrie Zero shader, really amps up the "powerful solar blaster" feel
Bungie has really been phoning it in with seasonal craftable weapons this season and last season. It's disappointing considering they're what we're primarily grinding for in seasonal activities. None of the ones from this season are particularly worth grinding for IMO.
"Filler weapons" like these are still very important for the overall health of the game and for players who don't or can't access the endgame often, new or returning players, or players who play casually or are disconnected from the online meta discussion of the game. And, sometimes, you just want a gun that looks a certain way and has a particular sound/feel, regardless of whether it has 2 fewer stats than some other gun in its same archetype.
i am actually loving the new lmg with adaptive munitions. it is great for ad clear and no matter what shields i see this weapon completely ignores them. solar wizard? arc knight? void scorn? no problem.
Adaptive munitions is actually severely underrated for radiant champion stunning with traces. Which may sound awfully specific but sunbracers warlock, hammer titan, and staresters hunter all fit into this niche for massive reward, getting an insanely fast champion stun can actually make the difference in some solo nightfalls.
I think adaptive munitions is great on something like Chain of Command, which is stasis, since nothing would match the weapon's damage type (except for the random world boss mentioned in another comment). And yep, I've crafted my traces with it too.
Envious assassin/ reservoir burst and lead from gold/ controlled burst are REALLY good for the eremite. The second one especially when paired with an exotic primary and a heavy ammo finder mod, probably going to be taking this thing into GM’s this season.
My Kept Confidence, I crafted it with Killing Wind and Pugilist for my Necrotic Grip/Strand builds. It's a good Monte Carlo alternative for when I need to free the exotic slot.
I could see golden tricorn on Brya's being really good with void warlock's void buddy. Shoot 1 enemy to sent it out, get a kill and the void buddy will kill anything nearby giving you that 50% buff. Not sure its better then just frenzy, but for sure a possibility.
Apparently building around slickdraw for pvp with eremite yields some interesting and fun results, some are also calling it one of the best pve high impact fusions if you're running a solar class.

I haven't used a scout rifle in a minute. After using Bryan's Love, not only do i like the aesthetic, but it just feels...so right in my hands. I give it A tier.
Bipod is good for the Semiotician because you can hold up to 15-16 rounds, which in total is about 12 standard rocket rounds (.75 x 16). The reason why this is good is because it allows you the flexibility to disperse your damage as you need it rather than make the choice of dumping an entire standard rocket's worth of damage. Compared to a BnS rocket launcher that usually only gets an average of 7 rounds worth of damage boosting, you get a total damage value of about 9.5-10.5 standard rockets worth of damage, which is a total damage loss. In a lot of cases, using rockets on enemies can also be overkill, where dumping a round overshoots the required value of damage and the round could have been better off used elsewhere. In addition, you also have to consider that you need a short amount of time to prep for BnS, while Bipod can do the same without the initial prep time coupled with the fact that Bipod also gives you -25 to fire delay means you will cycle to your reloads a lot faster than a standard BnS rocket launcher. The major problem with Bipod isn't the damage, nor the DPS comparison really, its the opportunity cost it affords the player. You lose burst damage but gain not only a higher total damage value, but also security for you damage to actually hit. If you miss one Bipod rocket, it's not much of a big deal because it is considerably a fractional value of a standard rocket's worth of damage, whereas if you miss with one BnS rocket, you are absolutely shit out of luck as there is no way to recover from dumping your ammo, especially in situations like when Caretaker sponged all your ammo. Bipod is much more forgiving to the player but requires the right situations to use them in.
Handcannons and snipers are kinda all about feel (unless ur using a rapid fire sniper or a 180 hc) so if u like kept confidence and the locus one use it!
I’m eagerly awaiting the numbers on the enhanced version of precision instrument. Word on the street is that Brya’s Love can use that to three crit kill below six resilience, but if the stronger effect from the enhanced version will kill all resiliences…
This is very helpful since even though I've been playing since destiny 1 days, I've never felt involved enough to consider weapons and certain builds. Honestly I still forget weapons have alternative stats to use
this is the solution that they found for crafted weapons IMO, just like in the last season and possibly the next one. they will feel good BUT they will be just ok, without great perks or good perk combinations. if they have great perks or good combinations, they will be in archetypes that are not what most people would consider meta, like an 180 scout or a high impact fusion with low reload and charge time. the second level of weapons, first level being world drops and playlist weapons that could have great combos but in a sea of perks and the third one being the end game ones
I have to agree with you on the new hand cannon. It's just a mid weapon at most until you get a better 140 or even the new Ritual Hand Cannon which is absolutely superb with its perk combination and even if it's a 120 it feels like a 140 and it feels damn good to use along with its unique origin trait that can spawn Telesto bolts and can do 40 damage each on enemies and guardians, but with the competition of better rolls and Ace Of Spades being available for everyone it really feels like a pick you get from a half empty or half full barrel of candy. It tastes alright, but you know you could have it better. Especially with the Range changes that happened recently. For those who have Rose pull it out of your vault or give good ol Cantata or Nation Of Beasts a go because they feel much better now on getting those follow up shots.
Bryas love is great, when it comes to energy scouts I dont find many i stick with. Since i got a kinetic tremor hung jury ive stuck with that however what ive really enjoyed is Bryas love with Explosive payload combining with void class. When volatile rounds proc the explosive rounds will hit multiple enemies thus massive spreading volatile explosions. Definitely a keeper once i can craft it.
My biggest gripe with Locus (full disclaimer, I haven't shot it much), is it's a lesser stat-ed Thoughtless, the also craftable stasis, 90 RPM sniper. It even has the same overflow/firing line best PvE perk combination. We are lacking in sooo many other categories non sunset in game, let alone craftable options. It's also not the first time, I don't see how Bungie keeps missing on this
I got a really good roll for Bryas Love with No Distractions and and Precision Instrument and I just can't put it away. My favourite weapon this season
I'm using Eremite with Envious Assassin/Controlled Burst with my Lumina/Boots of Assembler build in PvE and it's been fine. The 35% buff from Lumina really helps you disintegrate anything that's lower tier than a champion. Only issue is that the reserves are so low--I have 7 shots in the mag at base, then 13 in reserve--not a lot to play with, especially compared to rapid fires like Cartesian
I think a main reason people like the Locus Locutus is accessibility. Defiance and Eye are better, but less obtainable. Eye requires you to play Trials and Defiance means you need to raid, 2 things people can't or don't want to do
Thanks for the video. I have many good HCs and, even if not needed, I look forward to acquiring this new one and the new Scout. Can't have enough of those. My favorites since D1 (no matter if they are not as good anymore). 😅
I love the new machine gun in pve, even if its perks are bit... weird. Plus it has the looks. It just feels nice to use. Glad I got the blueprint quickly.
For eremite I think the play is reservoir burst with envious assassin and not compulsive reloader. I’ve noticed it overflowing the mag to upto 15, so all charges above 6 hits procs reservoir burst
There’s a lot wrong here. Bryars is not a normal 180. With a Precision instrument it three taps. It’s basically a 150 with desperado at that point. Also, the fusion is amazing in PVP with slickdraw because high impact fusions, don’t use much aim assist and they’re real limiting factor is handling and charge rate. You can craft a 20m killing high impact that has the same charge time as a Precision and then can kill at 25m with either tricorn or controlled burst. Lastly, bipod is great now. X2 the rockets with only -25% nerf. What people don’t realize is most of the damage was overkill anyways. Rockets still kill any ad, they still have a large blast radius compared to other games even 20. Also the nerf to reload is so easy to negate with field prep, or impulse amplifier. Rockets with 100 reload are still slow. Usually around 2 1/2 seconds. But with cutting the animation time, or you can get to what equates to 125 reload with bipod. Basically, there are so many times where I didn’t need the extra 25% damage. I’d rather have split those rockets up. Why waste one rocket that would’ve over killed the enemy 50%? During damage phases, most teams use barricades and wells and bubbles so you have a Max reload anyways. Also rockets tend to stun bosses so shooting multiples. Usually Stun locks especially with a whole team and Wolfpack rounds. That’s another thing. With wolf pack rounds it’s much better to have more submunitions swarming around. Also, I like to have split damage because if I miss a rocket I still get to do 50%.
Semiotician with Bipod and Envious assassins lets you have 6 rockets in mag, from gameplay I've had about 50k+ direct hit damage. Obviously not best in slot but still a decent option for a craftable
the fusion rifle is actually really good in pve for the players who save special for emeys that actually need it, envies and resvir is great for killing majors and the enemy's around them
Had the luxury playing a round of Spire with Him. My dudes breezes like through the level like flash. I was wondering if he was the original AscendantNomad
For eremite pvp give slickdraw a try. You can stat it for full range and stability while knowing your handling is maxed. I use it with void with elemental capacitor but on other classes I guess you'd go cornered. To be fair I dont have a glaciocasm, so Its my only high impact option but I like it
Nah I’m gonna need that Eremite. I’ve been looking for a high impact solar fusion…I literally got EXACTLY what I asked for, perks and everything. I use Loaded Question and I have a Envious Assassin + Controlled Burst god roll on it. I also have one with Envious Assassin + Reservoir Burst. The Eremite comes with both of those rolls. I’m definitely gonna get that one crafted as soon as possible.
Imo, an Eremite with com loader and res burst is top tier for taking out hive wizards and killing stunned champions (if not doing so outright.) I find it a good second place compared to my Jotuun. Then again, I hardly have any top tier gear so I'm using what I can get
Funny, Eleatic is the one new weapon i like. it's very nice for add clearing leaving my malf/lucky pants combo open to do real damage on the tougher stuff. For DPS phases on raid bosses it's star-eater/thunder lord still.
I had been resisting using the Locus Locutus, but I found that Resistance was Futile.

That would be amazing, I need to know this now. I already love 180s with Box Breathing, not having to proc BB first for the 3 tap would be amazing
I love Brya’s Love, I’ve been using it non-stop
Wouldn’t the Eremite with reservoir burst be good with the new wings of sacred dawn, reloading it on kill?
This is very helpful since even though I've been playing since destiny 1 days, I've never felt involved enough to consider weapons and certain builds. Honestly I still forget weapons have alternative stats to use
this is the solution that they found for crafted weapons IMO, just like in the last season and possibly the next one. they will feel good BUT they will be just ok, without great perks or good perk combinations.
if they have great perks or good combinations, they will be in archetypes that are not what most people would consider meta, like an 180 scout or a high impact fusion with low reload and charge time.
the second level of weapons, first level being world drops and playlist weapons that could have great combos but in a sea of perks and the third one being the end game ones
brya's love, sole fact that it's a void scout that can get destabiliing rounds
with no chelchis for me i'm very happy brya's exists, a good void scout is something i really need in gms tbh
Jasmine tea, a wise old fire bender opened my eyes to it and I haven't looked back
The main reason I want to craft Kept is the simple fact that it gets Quickdraw, the only one currently available that does
I went flawless with the sniper and scout for the first time ever. They will always hold a place in my load out somewhere ❤
As a Arc Titan that Eleactic Principle is great all around if you can keep up with ammo.
Babe, wake up. New AscendantNomad video.
Very good insights. My experience was similar. I will use the scout rifle, but that is about all.
I think a main reason people like the Locus Locutus is accessibility. Defiance and Eye are better, but less obtainable. Eye requires you to play Trials and Defiance means you need to raid, 2 things people can't or don't want to do
Eye isnt even obtainable anymore so even moreso this point. Plus, the sniper feels pretty nice, the model is great
Thanks for the video.
Same. I got mine crafted at level 11 now. Gonna kit it out to be my ad clear weapon so I can run double special like my one-two ragnhild and iterative
correction, I think there was a stasis shield at the beginning of the season of the hunt.
For eremite I think the play is reservoir burst with envious assassin and not compulsive reloader. I’ve noticed it overflowing the mag to upto 15, so all charges above 6 hits procs reservoir burst
The scout has a forward sight... that's all it needs in my opinion
Titan shoulder charge needs a nerf
I know it's not out yet but love to see some coverage on crota weapons
I'm planning on it already, not to worry
@@AscendantNomad thanks man appreciate it
Definitely gonna pick up kept confidence, I love my round robin but have been dying for a strand 140 to add to my build.
The doc is back!
Semiotician with Bipod and Envious assassins lets you have 6 rockets in mag, from gameplay I've had about 50k+ direct hit damage. Obviously not best in slot but still a decent option for a craftable
almost at 100k! early congrats!
Kept Confidence feels so good to use. Crafted it as soon as I could. The art team went so hard on it.
bryas love golden and rapid hit is amazing. golden makes it a 3 headshot kill. feels amazing
for brya's (aka badger ccl) fluted barrel/accurized rounds/keep away/explosive payload= have fun
The sniper rifle name sounds like a Harry Potter spell
the fusion rifle is actually really good in pve for the players who save special for emeys that actually need it, envies and resvir is great for killing majors and the enemy's around them
love the handcannon, sniper, and scout rifle
Had the luxury playing a round of Spire with Him. My dudes breezes like through the level like flash.
I was wondering if he was the original AscendantNomad
Bryas love feels great. Used it several crucible games with keep away and explosive payload.
Locus Locutus as keepawaywith opening shot as it's main roll
Having to pick up rather than just shoot a tangle for collective obligation is the killer for me in PvE on the hand cannon 😢
I just went into PVP with Knucklehead and a Brya’s with Keep Away and Precision Instrument. My word. The only thing beating me were snipers,
For eremite pvp give slickdraw a try.
Then again, I hardly have any top tier gear so I'm using what I can get
Commander Data would be proud.
King of add clear… “SUNSHOT” 🙌🏽
The legendaries are sublimely adequate, that is to say all but one, the new 600 rpm stasis smg is kinda crazy with target lock
Funny, Eleatic is the one new weapon i like. it's very nice for add clearing leaving my malf/lucky pants combo open to do real damage on the tougher stuff. For DPS phases on raid bosses it's star-eater/thunder lord still.
Malfeasance lucky pants is better dps than Tlord
I cannot say locus locutus without feeling like im having a stroke
