That's brilliant. Apple does it again with this update and the instructors with the most and best knowledge are going to make it shine. Great video sir.
Please please please continue with a series of master classes on Chord Track + Arrangement Technique. Your understanding is advanced (certainly beyond my own) and your clarity of communication is a real treat. Merci beaucoup from Ottawa, Ontario.
Wow Apple, great job on this! Thank goodness there are instructors like you to help us figure all (well, let’s be honest, we will probably at best get ‘a lot of’) if figured out. These tools are so powerful for those of us who are more focused on one instrument that isn’t keys!
I'm right-clicking on a selected region in my Keyboard session player, and am NOT getting that drop down Region menu you show in the third tip. Any ideas? Thanks!
Sorry if you covered this somewhere else but is the only way to make chord progression by selecting one of the given chord progressions or can you input your own?? I guess my question is how do you edit the chord track??
Great video thank you! I have reported a small but annoying Logic Pro 11 bug to Apple. I regularly use Markers. The cycle range does not align to the marker selected when pressing command+U. Have you noticed that? Thank you.
Can it engage with pre-existing/Human Created Audio or MIDI patterns whatsoever? Or is interpretation and adaptation still exclusively at ToonTrack for the most partt?
Great tips! Really helped me. Its scarry what you can do with this without almost zero skill like me. I actually was able to use a variety of instruments using the keyboard session player.
I am finding that if you map everything out using basic triads it sounds boring, but if you start sprinkling in sus, 9ths, 11ths etc the keys can be an excellent source of color. Convert to midi and you have excellent material to start arranging. Admittedly the bass has been less exciting.

Excellent. You covered stuff I haven't seen anywhere else, and I appreciate it.

I don't see arrangement, marker, tempo, etc... to edit the chords, how did you get to this screen?

Ooh, never knew the arrangement markers could be used for more control, that's neat!
A few questions. A) Can you get the bass to follow both chords AND the drums? B) Can you have et following a midi track? Like Superior Drums.

Excellent. Short but extremely helpful.
Great tutorial, thanks!

Double click on it. You can edit the chords on the chord track too.
Thank you. Excellent video of features missed by most others.

You nailed it. Great vision of the whole thing.
Very useful. Thanks.
Thanks mate, confirms what we’ve learned and added some more.
Nice job. Subscribed.

The patterns are set but can be influenced by any other track and aligned timing-wise with the groove track. So yes.
So you have to choose the arrangement and the keys first before you choose the session player? Otherwise it won't work?
You can choose the chords later too.

Love this, thanks for sharing!
That was helpful, thank you.
Great job, thanks. And it's a free update too !
Nice tips. Thanks.
Thanks … this is very helpful.
It would be nice to be able to drop midi files into session players
Walter White out there doing Logic tutorials is the only reason why TH-cam is still a thing.
Great video too.
That update went from disappointment to excitement. Really great video :)
Some features of Logic Pro 11 do not work, for example (stem splitter) there is no chromaglow plugin. Can you help me with this?
Only available on computers with an “M” processor.
Put on your seat belts for some great game changers on making your music yours. Thanks for sharing this in a very understandable way. Blessings!
great video, good ides. thank you

Session Musicians Manual Pattern Copy and Paste to another Empty Pattern isn't working... any ideas or is this a bug???
Same here!
The manual patterns in the new drummer are quite disappointing. Only allows kick and snare pattern which doesn't help much
Thanks.
Strange that they did not include the arrangement track in the iPad version
I agree!
The older drummer was much better than this latest version
I agree.
least AI sounding sound example right here
just wish you can save your custom chords
I wish it could analyze things I’ve recorded in the past. 🤷🏻♂️
In a real band, none of those players would survive for more than 5 minutes. They'd be fired instantly (ok, the Drummer might perhaps stay).
Drummer aside, the “session players” are a huge disappointment for anything but a basic jam. No real world functionality
You need to spend some time adjusting the settings to get the best from the session players.
