  • A mother who was paralysed after falling from a roof terrace on holiday says she's been helped through the ordeal by a very unusual saviour - a magpie chick that had fallen from its nest. When Sam Bloom's young sons took in the bird, it brought joy back to their home. Now her husband Cameron, who's a photographer, has made a book about their experience. I would have gone in depression after my daughter suisided but for these wild crows who would come demanding food then it has become my routine feeding them twice daily

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I think that nature does find a way to help us in times of despair.

The Magpie is such an intelligent and beautiful bird. I had a friend as a kid who also had a pet one and he was similar to Penguin

Birds are incredible - so intelligent. I've raised both parrots of many different species as well as rehabilitated wild birds. They are friends for life. I cannot imagine being without them.

Even though this video had a few little sound problems, this lovely lady's story comes through clear as a bell. That sweet beautiful bird was your little guardian angel when you needed it the most. With your mind on taking care of this little bird, you didn't have much time for feeling sorry for yourself or brooding. Your spirit soared with the bird. And to think you gave that little angel it's freedom back when the time was right, so it could fly on to help someone else. Just beautiful all the way around. God bless you in your many days journey with your lovely little family!

When I was 8 My Aunt brought home a Newly hatched Robin on a Windy day. I had a Heating lamp that I used for my Lizard but he died a couple days Before, I suggested putting the lamp at least a foot over the Baby and I had A Blanket for it. I spent the next couple Weeks Taking care of her and then when she was Old enough I started taking her outside and had her perched on top of my hat. By the time she was a couple months old She began Flying and she'd leave the house and come back. She continued this til I was 11 then she stopped coming back. I see her from time to time still so I know she's still alive, I also had a Dove and the same thing happened

What a sweet lovely story. Animals are Gods gift to us. If we would take more time like these beautiful people did our hearts would be changed in a wonderful way. Thank you kindly for sharing such a heart warming story. It warmed my heart.

A wild magpie once lived with my grandparents for a year when they were a young couple. Used to like hiding things and picking on the dog apparently haha.

I look after injured birds since I have 3 Magpies who cannot go back to the wild.
Amazing these magpies are not related to crows here there a different bird type but there simmer in ways.
    ( 1 has 1 eye and 1 leg )
( 1 has 1 full wing and one half and one leg )
( One has 1 eye and 1 full wing and 1 half wing)
Been with me 10 years there so well trained they have a poop bucket and sleep with me on my bed and sit on me watching movies.
