Hey great show. Everyone complains how hard it is to open, but I like that. It make when you are using the touch screen not wobble. So what you have to use 2 hands to open it. Also my other Xps 15 is also like that. I would not change a thing on the lid.

I agree completely it's a common theme in these reviews can't open with 1 hand. Personally I have never tried to open a laptop that way whether at work or home. In the same review they always mention great sturdy hinge with little to no screen wobble. I feel one exists as a side effect of the other. It feels nit picky as well as the speaker comments like it's a laptop how much depth in sound do you expect it sounds great compared to previous laptops for basic music, netflix and youtube. It sounds like they are expecting home theater surround sound out of a under 3 pound device. Fortunately mine has no coil that I notice maybe I can hear something if I stick my ear on the keyboard but I haven't found that to be a practical use method.

Does the 4 finger gesture swipe (virtual desktop swiping) work on your 9360? It doesn’t work for mine, are there touchpad drivers I’m missing?

I don't have my XPS with me right now to test, but I know I have used this in the past. I recall that it might involve using regular Windows 10 drivers for the touchpad instead of Dell provided drivers.

Hi. Looking to pick this exact model up but with 256gb SSD. 9360 with i7 16gb QHD+. Still recommended ? Currently around $1,090 which is cheaper than the i3/i5. I know you mentioned to try and avoid i7 due to heating but the price seems too good to let go.

It's a nice laptop and great performance, the two caveats are 1) Coil whine noise that emits under heavy load (just search on videos for "XPS 13 coil whine" for an example and 2) Some video stuttering issues and screen freezes. It's just a shame given the beautiful design and great performance there's two issues Dell can't fix. If these issues crop up for you it would be within your right to return it, so you can purchase and see how it goes.

I bought a demo unit of the XPS 13 9350 for $700 and am beyond thrilled with it. It's a little less powerful than the 9360 mainly in the 8gb ram and internal GPU CPU wise they are basically the same based on all benchmarks I have found/reviewed. My only complaint is the Broadcom Wifi radio doesn't seem to be the best. I bought a Intel 8265 for $22 on Amazon and will change to that tomorrow night and it should be perfect after that. I have a fairly powerful desktop if I want to game etc this was bought primarily for portability purposes. The 8th Gen Intel Mobile CPU's are coming soon which may result in a bit more price reduction however that is almost always the case so if you need something now I think it's a good deal.

That's great feedback, thanks for posting, did you get a chance to replace the wireless chip to the Intel 8265 yet and if so how's that working out?

Laptop Reviews I did replace it it took probably 10 minutes to do and the difference is night and day from the Broadcom chip. It would boot up sometimes and not even be connected to Wi-Fi and I would have to manually tell it to connect because I was having trouble doing so with the 8265 quickly connects to my 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz instantly and performs very well. I have google fiber internet at home. The signal strength it connects with is also stronger. Always seems to be full now where is was 3-4 bars if your would with the broadcom.

That's great news, thanks for updating and confirming the 8265 is superior. And I'm jealous you have Google Fiber.

    Is it still running fine?

I actually ended up returning it to Costco (where I bought it from) due to two issues I couldn't deal with: screen flickering and a persistent screeching noise when the laptop was under stress.

Laptop Reviews ... that's too bad that you had those issues. Next month my XPS will be a year old and still running like new with no problems!
      Later LR
