Put the side mirror forward, it is also far easier to drive with it. Don’t space the tire, it will change the geometry significantly.

The side mirror definitely needs to be moved forward, the targa top needs to be body color, and those exhaust tips are fine as they are (they’ll also look better once the orange is gone)
I like what you have planned for the 308 body. I agree deleting the roof spoiler is a good idea and make it look clean, as will colour matching the targa top and making the whole car black. Only then will the gold rims really work (but if it was my car, I'd have kept them OEM silver). Cut the exhaust tips? Hmmm... kinda reminds me of 1960s Ferraris and jags. But will look fine if done correctly.
Great video as always - wheels back to original finish , body all same colour including roof panel , remove the roof spoiler , mirrors forward . I prefer the OEM look for classic cars . I do like the suspension upgrade .

Yes on all three changes. Delete the spoiler, paint the roof and re-position the side mirrors. But also, please paint the rims in the same black color as you have the body in. That eould look amazing!

Yes to black body colour (really goes well with the gold rims), delete the spoiler (I agree, it ruins the lines), yes to the body coloured targa roof panel (gives more of a flow like you say) and move those mirrors (what were the Americans thinking?). Also, chop those exhausts off! Not sure about wheel spacers - might look good, but what of geometry (scrub radius and whatnot)?
excellent, everyone is agreeing to the mods. If I do a spacer it will be very subtle 10mm maybe 15 mm hardly noticeable but just enough, i dont think it will play havoc with any scrubbing etc
Black with no spoiler and the gold rims will look excellent. I personally think the exhaust sticking out a bit looks good, it reminds me of older cars, like the 330 GTS. Although on camera it might be hard to tell just how far they stick out.
I would swap the rims put the gold ones on the silver car and the silver wheels would go better with the black car (when the black car will be fully painted of course) keep the exhaust like they are (there is a reason for those to be longer, you don't wanna burn or melt the rear bumper) add some Scuderia Shields on the fenders on both cars silver & black when they done.. ;0)
Two tone with gold lower to match the wheels, is what I'm thinking. I agree on moving the mirrors and shortening the exhaust (don't cut them at the end, but rather cut a piece out further in, and reweld them. ) As for the roof spoiler, i think a wedge spacer to angle it more upwards, and maybe adding a little lip to it would make it much more aggressive, and maybe suit the car better.
Do the same as the ‘82 (which I want - lol), and yes bring out the fender spacer above those beautiful gold wheels! A bit 328-ish where all is more tucked in, but she’ll look ab-fab! Fantastic! Cheers! 😎
I agree with everything you plan to do on the 308. Also the gold wheels. There is just one thing, the yellow wheel centers don't work with the gold, make them contrast against the gold or have another color on the wheels. Maybe red brakes and wheel centers.

Fwiw- I am a car designer/stylist for a large OEM. I would go with Black (maybe a subtle mettalic black since your not keeping it original anyway), keep the gold wheels, delete the roof spoiler, paint the roof panel and move the mirrors to the euro position. Spacers would be good as well. 100% cut the tips in line with the rear bumper. Give it that budget 288GTO vibe.
Oh and personally I would go where ever you want with the 308, like you said with the bumper change its already not original, I would fill your boots man !!
Gold with black is classic and looks great. Go ahead and do body color on the top , spoiler delete and side mirror move forward. All great touches! Love the local shops helping out.

Once you sort out the paint and it’s all black (including removable roof) those gold wheels will look awesome. Also think moving the mirrors forward will be a huge improvement. Your ideas are all solid. Don’t second guess yourself, just get it done and it will look stunning. Also made me wonder how good those vents behind the back wheels on the 288 GTO would look on the 308 ( just thinking out loud).

I like the gold wheels, I’d keep the roof spoiler and paint that and the roof body colour; I’d run a thin gold stripe along the bumper joint and along the doors, I’d leave the exhausts alone. Looks great in black.
The standard look of the grey 308 says it all, I am afraid the silver wheels look spot on. Sorry to be different to the other comments, but its not a lotus JPS but I will be interested to see how it all works out if you stay as is. Enjoy the channel.

When i look at 308 for sale i always falling in love in the cars With an unusual color for a ferrari, i like a light 80s color that really casts some nice shadows so you really see the beautiful body lines. Off with the wing and body color the roof is the right thing to do👍

I would: drop the spoiler, move the mirrors forward, paint the top body color, and paint the wheel spider inserts black. Nice job on bringing this beauty back.
The rims looked better than I thought they would. I think that the tires made them look smaller and less exotic. If I was going on the appearance I would definitely go with a low profile tire.I do remember though that years ago I had Pirellis and bought bigger rims and new tires which looked better, but the first time I drove with them in the rain I noticed a huge difference and did not feel like I had made a wise decision.
Mirrors definitely need to go more forward, keep the car black, with the colour coded roof panel, spoiler…paint it same colour as the wheels!….love how you make owning a Ferrari possible, everything done on the drive and mostly one handed. Nice one chief. 👍

Black on gold is very Countach and Bandit T/A. Classic color combo. Can't go wrong with it. I agree with the wing delete. It sort of dates the car a bit. And definitely paint the targa top body color. Red calipers to top it off.👌🏻 If you want a splash of color, maybe you can put a tricolore racing stripe off center from front to back. 🇮🇹
It's personal but for me the gold wheels are more to do with the motorsport tradition at Ferrari and look better with red. But they would certainly make a black car stand out. If you're looking for a colour change though and don't want red then gold goes very well with dark metallic green. Spoiler and roof, agree; it would make the car look cleaner. Ditto the mirrors; they are meant to help you see behind. I never like using spacers though, even if it's only half an inch. They are particularly bad for steering geometry and it's a good enough looking car without them.
rims look great, I agree with the removal of the spoiler but if you could manage for a lip on the rear like the gto would look better, regarding the targa top, keep it mat black to break a bit of the shiny black, I would "smoke" the corner orange lights to make the side view more clean.
As someone in the comments said, two gold stripes along the body and maybe paint/gold zinc plating on the exhaust would look interesting? The spoiler and mirrors gotta go, would be awesome if you could source a lip spoiler, would give it a meaner look
Love the gold wheels and defo think it should be kept black. A range of gold accents around the car would look amazing. Maybe anodized exhaust pipes, the Ferrari lettering on the boot and the wing mirror casings?
When bumpers will match body colour it will look ok. Just put some wheel spacers on it, lower the suspension, delete the roof spoiler, throw that exhaust and those side mirrors to the bin, make a racing custom high flow lightweight exhaust, install a pair of tiny carbon side mirrors, install carbon racing bucket seats and a suede steering wheel, a white shift knob like the F40GTE, fix the rusted front left fender, polish the body paint and clean the whole car mate. I can bet it will look awesome
Filling the centre of each wheel spoke with gloss black would tone it down a little, then a putting a red pinstripe around the edge of the rims would colour match it to the upholstery and give it a more classic look.
The black-gold theme is a bit 1970 JPS (John Player Special) , nice on a Lotus but a bit awkward on a Ferrari imo. For cars like this i like bright summer colors. (Deep)Purple metallic would work well with those gold rims. Spoiler can go off. Makes no sense anyway. Roof in body color. If you want truely nice mirrors, get them from a Citroen CX (very last facelifted edition) . Late model Lotus Esprit uses them too. They are aerodynamic and would suit the design of the 308/328 imo

Think it looks Fantastic! Once it get painted, and everything is Body colour, including the roof, it will look even better. I think you might find the cost to change the position of the mirrors, not really worth the trouble. I think the Motor needs sorting before you go any further. the rear spoiler should go, but refurbish it, andd you may find the right buyer, it may bring some much needed Pounds sterling. considering how rare they are. I love the gold wheels with the black. Yes move mirrors forward, clip the tips, and keep the spoiler as you really don’t see those on the other Ferrari’s 308 that I have seen. Beautiful car.

The orange valences don't help. But when it's a 100% black car with a great finish I think they will look great. I completely agree with your thoughts on the spoiler, targa top, and exhaust tips. I think the mirrors would look equally good in either place.
Looking quite good actually Scott...gold wheels gives it a "wiff" of Miura ... Yep deleted spoiler, roof panel to body colour, then just paint those door handles to same gold as wheels and tint the glass 👍
Hi Scott. I agree with body mods. Remove the spoiler, paint the roof body colour, move the mirror forward. I do like the smaller mirrors rather than the big square ones.
I’m not a fan of the gold wheels. Boring I know but I’d go silver.

It will look mint with those gold wheels when the body is all black. I’d keep the roof spoiler personally but agree with body colour roof panel and shifting the mirrors and tail pipes. Nice job. Looking forward to seeing it 👍

I like the gold wheels, I’d keep the roof spoiler and paint that and the roof body colour; I’d run a thin gold stripe along the bumper joint and along the doors, I’d leave the exhausts alone. Looks great in black.
Rims are lovely! Will be epic on a black car.. spoiler removed and paint the targa.. will be stunning.
The standard look of the grey 308 says it all, I am afraid the silver wheels look spot on. Sorry to be different to the other comments, but its not a lotus JPS but I will be interested to see how it all works out if you stay as is. Enjoy the channel.

When i look at 308 for sale i always falling in love in the cars With an unusual color for a ferrari, i like a light 80s color that really casts some nice shadows so you really see the beautiful body lines.
Off with the wing and body color the roof is the right thing to do👍

Keep the gold wheels, body color on the targa roof, trim the exhaust tips. If you keep the roof spoiler, make it special. Something like gold to match the wheels
The wheels are incredible. All black + gold wheels is a killer combo. I would agree with the spoiler delete as well.
Love the gold wheels with the black body. If the car was mine I would make the changes you are considering, lose the spoiler, colour code the roof, move the mirrors forward and shorten the exhausts.
I would: drop the spoiler, move the mirrors forward, paint the top body color, and paint the wheel spider inserts black.

The rims looked better than I thought they would. I think that the tires made them look smaller and less exotic. If I was going on the appearance I would definitely go with a low profile tire.I do remember though that years ago I had Pirellis and bought bigger rims and new tires which looked better, but the first time I drove with them in the rain I noticed a huge difference and did not feel like I had made a wise decision.
Mirrors definitely need to go more forward, keep the car black, with the colour coded roof panel, spoiler…paint it same colour as the wheels!….love how you make owning a Ferrari possible, everything done on the drive and mostly one handed. Nice one chief. 👍

Keep the gold rims go all black but keep the roof spoiler 15 mm out 20mm down do not cut the tips looks old school Ferrari.
Black on gold is very Countach and Bandit T/A. Classic color combo. Can't go wrong with it. I agree with the wing delete. It sort of dates the car a bit. And definitely paint the targa top body color. Red calipers to top it off.👌🏻
If you want a splash of color, maybe you can put a tricolore racing stripe off center from front to back. 🇮🇹
It's personal but for me the gold wheels are more to do with the motorsport tradition at Ferrari and look better with red. But they would certainly make a black car stand out. If you're looking for a colour change though and don't want red then gold goes very well with dark metallic green. Spoiler and roof, agree; it would make the car look cleaner. Ditto the mirrors; they are meant to help you see behind. I never like using spacers though, even if it's only half an inch. They are particularly bad for steering geometry and it's a good enough looking car without them.

rims look great, I agree with the removal of the spoiler but if you could manage for a lip on the rear like the gto would look better, regarding the targa top, keep it mat black to break a bit of the shiny black, I would "smoke" the corner orange lights to make the side view more clean.
As someone in the comments said, two gold stripes along the body and maybe paint/gold zinc plating on the exhaust would look interesting? The spoiler and mirrors gotta go, would be awesome if you could source a lip spoiler, would give it a meaner look
Love the gold wheels and defo think it should be kept black. A range of gold accents around the car would look amazing. Maybe anodized exhaust pipes, the Ferrari lettering on the boot and the wing mirror casings?
When bumpers will match body colour it will look ok. Just put some wheel spacers on it, lower the suspension, delete the roof spoiler, throw that exhaust and those side mirrors to the bin, make a racing custom high flow lightweight exhaust, install a pair of tiny carbon side mirrors, install carbon racing bucket seats and a suede steering wheel, a white shift knob like the F40GTE, fix the rusted front left fender, polish the body paint and clean the whole car mate. I can bet it will look awesome
Filling the centre of each wheel spoke with gloss black would tone it down a little, then a putting a red pinstripe around the edge of the rims would colour match it to the upholstery and give it a more classic look.
Love those gold rims with the black car, and the changes will make the car great.

The black-gold theme is a bit 1970 JPS (John Player Special) , nice on a Lotus but a bit awkward on a Ferrari imo.
For cars like this i like bright summer colors. (Deep)Purple metallic would work well with those gold rims.

If you want truely nice mirrors, get them from a Citroen CX (very last facelifted edition) . Late model Lotus Esprit uses them too. They are aerodynamic and would suit the design of the 308/328 imo
Yes,that roof spoiler spoils the lines.What about the whole lower part of the car Gold to match the wheels?A bit like the old Lotus Elans when they were red and white.
Think it looks Fantastic! Once it get painted, and everything is Body colour, including the roof, it will look even better. I think you might find the cost to change the position of the mirrors, not really worth the trouble. I think the Motor needs sorting before you go any further. the rear spoiler should go, but refurbish it, andd you may find the right buyer, it may bring some much needed Pounds sterling. considering how rare they are.
