I have no experience with the hawk but you might need to open your idle adjuuster a bit if you need to have some throttle to start. Or maybe your carb needs a clean.
That sounds amazing. For the price i gotta get one. I ride a klr 650. I was actually gonna get a hawk 5 years ago but got an 01 klr 650. Still ride it daily, but want to get a smaller bike for going to work and around town fun. How do you like it? Any issues or things youd like to change about it?
Aye man I appreciate that. If you don’t like your size though, you can do something about it. I’m not talking from experience, but I watched my close friend slim down from being pretty overweight. I must say it will not be easy and you are NOT going to see a change overnight. In fact, grab a friend for the ride just like my buddy did. I was there to hold him accountable and double in giving him hope. From here it would be creating a plan. Not later, not tomorrow, but now. I 100% believe in you, in the end it’s your choice my friend and you can do this.
@nephen6539 I'm trying for sure. Carb cycling isn't working too well for me but certainly eating healthier than I used to. I'm a solo kinda guy because of a debilitating condition, hoping that a healthier lifestyle will revert that pain. Thank you for your encouraging words. Sometimes, that's all it takes for some people.
God, I miss my Hawk! That was my first dual sport. It was such a great bike for the money. It took so much abuse, but never quit on me.
I have the exact same bike. I took the stickers off the plastics too. Great bike for the price.
Couldn’t agree with you more! And it looks much better without that stupid orange stuff on it 🤮😂
Those come off?!?!! YES!🎉 I’ve been strongly considering getting one of these but that orange was really putting me off
Every morning i would just start full choke and rev to redline for 5 seconds straight then choke off. Which might be why my engine is done for
Redline 😂😂😭
Low key sounds like we might be brothers
I straight piped mine too 😂
@@ezrafrazier7795 better retune that carb so its not running lean.

I'm selling my Honda ADV 150 to get this someday. I'm too tall for the little Honda scooter.
If you don’t skip maintenance, you’ll love this guy. Good choice!
@@nephen6539 Thanks, I like how even replacing the motor is cheap
