    At 13:39, you'll see that I threaded the last guide hook but a few seconds later into the next step it appears that the thread is no longer inserted in the slot -- the thread just accidentally slipped out of the hook. The thread should always be placed behind that hook to prevent skipped and/or loose stitching.

    I taught myself how to thread this machine & now I want to teach all of you. I know how challenging it can be trying to learn how to so something yourself so I created a tutorial that I wish was around when at the start of my journey. I hope this helps you. Thank you for watching.

    An extra comment, it takes the patience of an angel to learn how to use the automatic needle threader. There was quite a lot of swearing, while learning it. I had to, since I do not see that well anymore. The bobbins was not fun either, but with some maybe 20 times, I eventually had succes with it. My model is Singer SC220.

    I really can’t thank you enough. I just bought my first sewing machine after three longs decades..lol of sewing wigs by hand and I just wanted to make sure I get the basics correct. This video was informative. If you can please do a maintenance video as well, that would be great. Obviously you’ve had your machine for some time now, so you must know hot to oil it and stuff. Many thanks in advance.🙏🏾

    I believe you are supposed to wind the thread on the bobbin tension guide in a clock - wise direction. That's how it shows you to do on the machine. But, I enjoyed watching your video. TYSM for sharing it with us.

    • @Itsbigcyn
      @Itsbigcyn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Welcome! It’s my pleasure. There are 2 that came with the machine; one labeled with the letter C and the other, letter I. I’m using the C presser foot. It’s the bigger one of the two. I hope that helps.

      Shahida dear, the machine I’m using is one of the easiest for beginners to start with. I want you to just push through & practice as much as you can - I promise you’ll get better!

    What is the white thing that holds the thread my machine did not bring that

    • @Itsbigcyn
      @Itsbigcyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! It’s called a spool pin cap. It holds your spool of thread in place so it won’t move when you sew.

  • @reesemorgan2259
    @reesemorgan2259 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. When you threaded the needle manually - you didn't utilise the last little nook where the needle / set screw is. You show it at 13.39 when you were threading as if you were going to use the automatic needle threader. So, when you're threading it _manually_ - do you habitually skip that last guide hook? Has it worked for you doing it that way? I would really appreciate a speedy reply because I have the same model machine and it is knocking my self-confidence, big time..

    • @Itsbigcyn
      @Itsbigcyn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Reese! I can see your confusion - the thread must have come out of that last guide hook after I hooked it. Always thread that last hook. Not threading it can potentially cause skipped and/or loose stitching. I hope I cleared that up for you.

    • @reesemorgan2259
      @reesemorgan2259 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Itsbigcyn Thanks! I got this machine yesterday and I can't seem to get it right. Each time I try to remove the sewing from the machine I end up having to drag the fabric out. It feels like I'm damaging the machine. I've tried so many permutations my head is spinning.

    • @Itsbigcyn
      @Itsbigcyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reesemorgan2259 that’s happened to me before too. It sounds like your thread may just be getting tangled. You’ll master this soon with practice.

    You threaded it wrong for the bobbin, it’s supposed to go around the thingy clockwise, that’s why it shows the arrow as it leaves!
