Good stuff! I already have a bunch of these things, but I'll be looking into the vibration alarm and the FlatOut. Only criticism I have is the lock choice: It's certainly true that any lock can be busted, but the amount of time it takes to do that + the chance of getting caught vs. the value of the bike is the calculation going on in every thief's mind. Most cable locks are a steel braid and I've seen those cut with hand tools in 10 seconds. That Aventon bike is worth 1500$ or more. That's a strong enough value proposition that any would-be bike thief would consider it, even with an alarm blaring in their ears as they ride away.
An inexpensive option that should be a Must based on Safety is an illuminated Taillight. For $20 bucks you can find one w/ an inertia sensor that automatically brightens to a Stop Light whenever you brake. When ur riding they can be set to flash, pulse or just stay lighted. A flashing Taillight will get a car drivers attention much better than a steady light.
On the 2 they changed how the light mounted so you have a issue when you change out the adjustable stem as it was mounted to the OEM one and the new one I got is wider then the stock one.
I have an electric kickscooter that wouldn't make much sense putting a big heavy lock on it because I never leave it very far from me. I just needed something to keep someone from just walking off with it. I installed an alarm and a kensington lock, yes like the laptop cable locks. I installed a kensington plate. It's plenty to stop someone casually walking off with it and yet it's lightweight as heck.
Wow Kevin, that's an awesome comment 👏. Much appreciated. It really lifted my spirit. I'm very pleased to know my experience can be useful to others. It makes all the costs and work to make these videos worth it.
Nice upgrades, I like the apple bell and would have hidden it in the control box somewhere and you need a lock for the seat. I have hooked up a trailer to my himiway and will upgrade everything! Thank you👍

Maybe you can do a video on pogies (handlebar mitts) for e-bikes. It gets freezing cold where I live. How do you install them? How do they work with the e-bike controls? Is there a brand you recommend? Thank you
It's not a fomotor stem. Most adjustable stems are failrly similar, though. We have used both sizes and haven't had issues with cable length. I will check the stem MM and get back to you.
Second choice is the cloud 9 seat. They have a few different models. Not quite so big but lots of padding. I think the 9x13 is my favorite. Where do you live? We have folks driving 50-100+ miles here everyday. Alot of people make a day of it and visit some restaurants or breweries and whatnot.
Right on, Mr. C, I guess that is a bit of a distance for a weekend trip, lol. I have a lot of family out there. Used to live in North County SD. Ya, check out thay cloud 9, or sometimes you can find a killer schwinn saddle, too.
For my bike security, i have Sowuno 126db horn/alarm, 4' Rottweiler 8026 armored cable +Bullox U-lock. If Rottweiler is too short, have 5' Master Lock 1.25" armored cable. Have Too much invested in my E-bike to let some whacked-out chronic just walk off w/my ride!
We sometimes use a longer bolt as to include the original bracket as well. Hope this helps. I’d have to see the specific situation but I am nearly positive there’s a solution if you look and think hard enough. Or call us if you get stuck.
Good afternoon! Purchased a derailleur guard for Aventon Level.2. Looks like you have to disconnect the motor cable to install this. Opinion, please? Thanks.
I'll take a look and get back to you, William. Hopefully, today. I am fairly certain the guard has nothing to do with the motor cable, and you just install it to cover the derailure-shifter cable.
@@RexEBikes The guard that I had purchased from Amazon did not work. It fit over the axle, and the oblong hole orientation was about 90^ off and tight. If you offer a potential solution, I would love to see it. Thanks!

It seems like almost no lock is theif proof. First, I'd install a gps and vibration alarm. That way, you are covered no matter what. They are both cheaper than a high quality lock. I'll do some homework and see if there's anything new that's stronger than the rest and get back with you, Wade!
It is easier to carry a heavier lock(s) on an ebike where the weight does not make it that much harder to pedal. The best D locks are the Hiplock D1000 or the Litelok X3. Both are very expensive, but well worth the cost since they add a much greater resistance to being cut by an angle grinder than almost anything else on the market. You might also consider a heavy duty chain like the Pragmasis 16mm chain coupled with a really good heavy duty lock such as a Squire SS80S. Avoid cable locks and cheap Dlocks or cheap chain locks. Those are worthless in securing your bike.

Random question, but what do you think of the Spongy Wonder’s Prostate Friendly Noseless Bike Seat? Was thinking about that for the prostate, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Maybe I'll get a tractor seat like you mentioned.
We just added the bar riser/adjuster, the wires are way too short to adjust it over an inch or so, definitely not the range you had. This was on Aventon Aventure2, just purchased. The light also doesn’t fit back on, it is directly attached to the 1 piece clamp, not 2 pieces like yours, and the screws are different sizes and too short. I’m so disappointed the wires are so short.
That's sucks. You can order new wires from the manufacturer. As for the brake cables they are pretty cheap and lots of videos on how to do it or just bring it in to a bike shop. It's definitely worth doing just for the comfort level.
@@RexEBikesfrom Google: "How does it work? Your AirTag sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby devices in the Find My network. These devices send the location of your AirTag to iCloud - then you can go to the Find My app and see it on a map. The whole process is anonymous and encrypted to protect your privacy." Take note .. it uses NEARBY DEVICES and uses that devices geolocation data.. I take issue with that. If you have an Apple phone and turn off BLE .. is it really turned off? So if stolen and nobody with an Apple phone within 30 odd feet (10 meters) your tag is useless.
Do a video search on youtube about bikes and airtags. Works pretty well for folks. Of course you could do a standard GPS, if you can hide it, and pay monthly SIM card fees
Agreed. No reason to high jack others serenity of a trail ride. It’s all about respect and your rights end where others toes begin. But also, live and let live
Why is it junk? Please elaborate. The liquid kevlar has worked wonders for us and saved us from many flat tires far from home. It's also an easy install without having to remove the whole wheel and tire from the rim and install a liner and reinstall the tire on the rim and reinstall the wheels on the bike. What's not to love? :) I'd rather have the natural bounce of my tire than a stiff t liner. But to each their own.
No elaboration, huh? I'm guessing you don't have direct experience. I see alot of opinions thrown around without alot of experience. It's amazing the disinformation customers ask about during their test rides. I wonder where it comes from 😆
Absolutely, nothing is 💯 but I can secure my bike with dental floss when I have a vibration alarm and GPS. We like to show all options including affordable ones to help everybody. Our vibration alarm saved us from a bike getting stolen last year. When the siren goes off, it draws too much attention for most thrives to continue. Imagine them pushing the bike down the road with sirens blaring lol. What's your favorite lock? We will do a video...

Random question, but what do you think of the Spongy Wonder’s Prostate Friendly Noseless Bike Seat? Was thinking about that for the prostate, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Maybe I'll get a tractor seat like you mentioned.
You not use a better lock?
Tractor seat??? I need one!
Yes, you do!
I have almost the same accessories. Feel free to review them on my channel. Nice video!!
Cool channel! Love to collaborate somehow sometime. Thanks for sharing your adventures and all with everyone!
I advise hiding the alarm in the frame itself.
No .. adding an apple airtag does not mean your bike has GPS for theft purposes. It does not contain GPS hardware.
Hi Brian, how does a apple airtag that tracks and locates your bike for recovery if stolen not equate to being a GPS? Please explain
@@RexEBikesfrom Google: "How does it work? Your AirTag sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby devices in the Find My network. These devices send the location of your AirTag to iCloud - then you can go to the Find My app and see it on a map. The whole process is anonymous and encrypted to protect your privacy."
Take note .. it uses NEARBY DEVICES and uses that devices geolocation data..
I think external speakers on the bike trail is obnoxious.
Agreed. No reason to high jack others serenity of a trail ride. It’s all about respect and your rights end where others toes begin. But also, live and let live
🥤😀🍿
He took a boring looking bike and made it look great!
I'd do a tannus up grade before I would put that junk in my tires.
I wonder where it comes from 😆
AirTags aren’t GPS
Cable locks are garbage they are easily cut with a bolt cutter
So friggin true.
@@RexEBikes you realize your siren alarm is only held on by plastic ties right all a thief would have to do is cut them with the same bolt cutters that they cut your lock with
@@RexEBikes my favorite lock is the Litelock x1 or x3 either one is good coupled with a Vulcan security chain
@@anthony_786 you didn't pay attention to the video. Those cable ties are not plastic.
My HJM doesn't have a place for a water bottle.
No worries we got you! First option - bushwhacked brand speaker strap under $10 online. Holds any size water bottle with non slip grip. Velcros many places like the tube under your seat post, the handle bar stem or be creative. Number 2 - look up bottle mounting cage base. This will give install water bottle bolts by clamping them on. Sounds complicated but it’s totally not! Please write back to tell us how it worked out!
that suspension post is junk. i like cane creek thudbuster
Totally an entry level budget suspension post you are right! It’s like $40 vs $129 for a better one. Everyone Get a better one that moves down and BACK not just up and down if you can afford it.
Cane creek makes great products!
Get yourself some headphones and don't be a jerk !
Hey Campbell, my family is part of the Campbell clan too. Of course never be a jerk agreed, but also headphone are pretty dangerous. They have helmets with speakers now a days too. I ride all kinds of places where speakers are acceptable and not a bother to folks. City streets, secluded trails where I’m alone, the beach, festivals, etc.
Can’t stand bikers with their speakers blaring music.
Valuable video
