    I would suggest an Apple air tag, Samsung smart Things tag, etc hidden somewhere on the bike.
    Also slime or Flat Out for the tires.

    Second to the Sena helmets, the best accessory we’ve added are Tannus Tire Armor inserts.

    You do a very thorough review that is well received. Understandable feature explanations along with fair assessments: good job

    I just received and installed that very same bike-alarm and I like it! I want to upgrade my seat to a wider one and I wish I could install the seat suspension but adding the 3” hight is a no go! My e-bike is a 26” high step and I have a 25” inseam so I just fit over the high bar. I use a thermos water bottle which is 2-3/3” dia X 9” tall. I have short fingers so it’s easier to grip a tall slim water bottle than a short fat water bottle! So,,, I am still searching for a bottle caddy that will hold it. My next purchase will be saddlebags to drape over the rear rack. A 2” to 3” bag on top will be okay but no thicker. I still have to swing my leg over it.

    I have a back bag like your dad's I never use. I have a Rubbermaid container zip tied on mine. I fill it full when I go grocery shopping.

    On the Bikase Big Daddy trunk bag (MIK compatible version), is the main area insulated and will it hold ice without leaking? Also, are the side pockets big enough to hold a decent amount of items even if the panniers are not deployed?

      No plans to offer them in the near term. Just not something we'd be able to sell a lot of to justify it but perhaps at some point. Appreciate the support though!

    Is that the only way to mount the headlight when you change the stem on an aventure 2??

  • @gonerydin4225
    @gonerydin4225 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have an adjustable handlebar stem for my Aventure2 but haven't figured out how to remount the headlight. Would like to see how your dad did his.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just slide the light over, it doesn't have to be center mounted.

    • @gonerydin4225
      @gonerydin4225 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EbikeEscape I wish! You can’t do that on the aventure2. The headlight bracket mounts to two screws on the handle bar stem. It doesn’t match up to the aftermarket bracket. I thought your dad’s bike was an aventure2.

    The communication system looks interesting. i have one mirror on the handle bar, a mirror on my helmet, which cost £4.99. The handle bar mirror costs about £24.99. The rear bag not so good, esp. the drop down panniers they just flop around when riding. front rack is ok but no needed for me as i do shopping on other bike. The problem with the bike and mine NCM Venice, is the do not take standard rear panniers, also they had to weight when full to an already heavy bike. Torque sensor is ok but do you really need it? The bottle is meh, just over hyped water carrier. The lock is good but i have two kryptonite gold U locks which are smaller and i the bike alarm. One thing protect your bike from water they are not water proof, esp. the battery, one drop gets in and your toast.

    I have the same bike in my stable but, after 60+ years in the saddle, I'm particular about accessories. I have the front rack and really like it. I replaced the rear rack with one with standard size tubbing. I have three sets of quality panniers, which all fit standard tubing. The alternative is low quality panniers purchased from Aventon or Rad or one of the other bikes who use it. I think it's a way to get you to buy their panniers.
    I also replaced the throttle with a twist grip on the right side and Ergon grips. They make a set designed for for right side twist. I don't think the throttle should be on the traffic side of your bike. Arm signals are what drivers look for, plus the turn signals aren't easily visable with panniers.
    I replaced the padded saddle with a more narrow, firm one. I don't like padded saddles for long hours. If I wanted a wide saddle like your Dad, I would get a Brooks C67, one of the rubber ones. I use a Brooks C19 on my Aventon, which is wider than a touring saddle but not what you would call wide. It is still for upright positioning. I like hammock style saddles so the saddle doesn't need padding and you don't need padded shorts. I have hammock style saddles on all of my bikes. I like Brooks, Gyes, Berthoud, Selle Italia.
    I don't like bar end mirrors, which are easily clipped and vibrate more. Vibration naturally increases as you go outward on the bar. I use a handlebar mount but mounted upside down underneath the bar. I find underneath best for viewing and, doesn't have to be moved if you have to flip the bike over.
    God, I really am particular aren't I.
