    Well done brother! Considering purchasing one and your factual impression of your ownership and the fact you state you plan on keeping it for years tells me everything I needed to know. Even your add-ons were spot on. Great job mate. Thanks.

    Great review, glad you mentioned tire pressure. Letting air out is a big deal on different terrain and can really change traction and the ride comfort with no rear shock. These fat tires can go as low as 10psi. Witch makes them nice on sand and gravel. Absolutely love this bike! Oh yeah, I’m 62 with the standard crossbar. It forces me to try a stay a little more limber.

    I only had 67 miles on my Aventon Aventure 2 and burned my hub motor up climbing a steep paved road. I only had the bike a little over a month. I took it back to the bike shop and they ordered me a new hub motor and wheel. The warranty is good for two years.

    I've always enjoyed the finish on Aventon bikes, and I'm glad it has a good torque sensor. Cheap cadence sensor setups will always be at the bottom of the barrel, but a good current-based cadence system with dynamic assist can be very pleasant, and in some cases more responsive than a torque sensor. I use a Suntour post and love it, and liked my Rockbros bag as well until the zipper separated. Stay safe, and thanks for the video!

    I just got an Aventon Level 2 today. Put it together (took me 3 sweaty hours) and couldn't wait for the tire pump in the mail so I just took it out for a spin as is. I put 20 miles on it. I saw parts of the bike trail I've never seen before. And the battery was only at like 75% when I got back and I was going pretty heavy on the throttle. So roughly like 10% battery per 10 miles if you don't let the bike do all the work. And there are a lot of e-bike people cruising around out there. I think people really wanted something like this and it's finally becoming available to them.

    Great review and color. I've been looking at this bike and their level 2 bike. Also the magicycle ocelot pro. It's for the Mrs, she's only 5'3" or even 5'2"..i love that you mentioned the other type of seat post as she'll need keep seat near lowest possible. Only other concern is her reach. How tall is your wife. She looked pretty comfortable, I'm worried she may have to reach forward? She rides a conventional cruiser now with the bars that bend back to rider. Do you know if can add a stem to bars that would allow adjust to bring back towards rider so she can be upright? Thanks again very helpful!

  • @rayrussell6258
    @rayrussell6258 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I love my Aventure 2, purchased in May '23. But I don't care for the torque sensor system much at all. What I get is speed oscillation, my pedaling isn't exactly the same each leg pump, so you actually feel the speed change on each rotation because the assistance changes. I prefer the cadence sensor of the Aventure 1. I don't off-road, and I'm not riding for physical exercise.
    I don't have your brake noise issue. I do agree there is range benefit of the torque sensor, but I'm not certain it is all that much.
    My range is more like 44-50 miles per charge, but I don't ride in tour mode all the time, and I'm not in flat land. Currently I'm doing a test of range, keeping it in tour mode all the time, but just started that test, too soon to say how much it will improve range. But normally I wouldn't ride it that way. I prefer going closer to 20 mph, and sometimes up to 28 mph, not 16 mph in tour mode.

    • @ridingthe615
      @ridingthe615  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can see how for speed the cadence may be better. I got mine mainly to pedal like a regular bike and get some exercise so the torque sensor is good for me. If I was using it as a commuter the cadence would be OK but I like the torque sensor for what I do. I mainly just ride around cruising the neighborhood and sight seeing so 12 to 16mph is good for that.

      I took the regular max waterbottle bag. Cut the straps off the back that button or fasten to backpack. Then I took a regular metal walmart waterbottle holder and put it inside the bag. I then took a drill and drilled through the bag from the back where the screw holes are , stretched the water water holder out a little to size of inside of bag and used the screws to bolt to regular water bottle area. Let me know if you need some pictures of the metal water bottle holder and where I drilled and I'll send you some pictures. My email is ridingthe615@gmail.com

    The only thing I would say is that I'd like a disclaimer when buying this bike is the weight and how you'll be limited to certain bike racks and a 2" hitch.

    • @ridingthe615
      @ridingthe615  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most ebikes these days are a good 77 to 100lbs. It doesn't bother me much. I want to get the max range I can get so I know the battery is going to weigh 8 to 15lbs by itself. You definitely want a rack that is rated for an Ebike. I find more and more are coming out and also you can get a mini bike rack and they work well. The 20inch tire ebikes we have , we usually just put them in the back of the truck and tie them down. Also when I use our bike rack, I always take the battery out, use a cut pool noodle and put in the battery well and than wrap saran wrap around that noodle and bike to keep the battery area clean and incase it rains.

      Yeah I found a really good bike rack called Mach2. The downside is the wait time of 2 months in getting it delivered. It takes up to 120lbs bikes and is for 1.25 and 2 inch hitch. I had looked at the Thule ones but noticed they are only rated for 60 lbs.

      Njstorozuk, with a torque sensor it is designed to make you give more input. You get a smoother feeling pedal but it’s not going to just go fast without the work. If you want to cruise at 28 you need a cadence sensor and basically ghost pedal where the highest pedal assist level determines your speed not your pedal power

    • @riverv.5551

      Lol you actually believe that stereotype? The truth of it is most things labeled girls or boys are just there for no reason other than society expectation or to make companies money off suckers that think they need a different thing from their other gender family members, so they buy more stuff. Boys toys can be girls toys. Boy clothes are often better quality and more pocket than girls. Bike genders are just an aesthetic thing as are most other products geared to certain genders. If you like the thing get it. It ain't going to hurt you none.

    Have you noticed the motor becoming a lot more whinier over the time you’ve owned it?

      Yes it has now that I have like 1000 miles on it. I also noticed sometimes my torque sensor seems a little different. Like at times I feel like the sensitivity changes. Could just be me but sometimes it feels like the resistance changes and I have to pedal harder to get the same speed but I figure it may be the battery as it drains. But to your question, Yes I have noticed there is a slight whining or the motor is a little louder than when I first got it. I plan on taking the rear wheel off and cleaning the hub motor gears and re-grease them when the winter gets here.
