Fair play for putting this together, a lot of effort put in. A godsend for anyone doing it for the first time. Have no real plans to do it but watched the whole thing.
30+ years ago I used to run many parts of this route and I’m familiar with 50-60 miles of it (long before The Arc was thought of!). It’s an area very close to my heart (we have a house in Sennen). I’m too old for this run now…..I’d love to do it….but this is a great video and should prove invaluable to those doing the Arc challenge for the first time. Thanks a lot 👍🍷.
Well done Stephen - Top description of the entire route. Kynanse Cove - The route does not go onto the beach, nor does it take the high water route. Instead, the Arc 100 route takes the service road which is to the east of the car park. Diversions - All of the diversions mentioned are signed on the ground and are included on the 2023 V3 gpx. Portreath - The 2023 V3 gpx takes the valley route to avoid the dangerous cliff edge. (Cadgwith Cove - Completely unimportant but the route out of the village shown in the video is not currently the South West Coast Path nor is it on the GPX. The actual route is up the road just behind the footpath. In 2022, all runners bar one (me) took the footpath route and I would recommend doing that this year too, though either route will be fine, it really doesn't matter.) Colin
This is quite possibly the best video you have ever done Stephen and also as a guide on an Ultramarathon this must be number 1. I'm giving the 100 a miss this year and doing the 50 instead and I'm more than ever looking forward to it knowing about the views i will now see. Thanks for putting this together. You are a great ambassador to the sport.
Oh Andy thank you that's really kind of you to say. The 50 is just as tough as the 100 in many ways because you're going faster over the same tough terrain!
Just started to watch this, fantastic filming, am going to save it for later as i need something inspiring to watch as laid up with painful knee and post iron infusion constant headache, 😕so this will reconnect me with running, many thanks
Just a quick message to wish you well with the 2024 coverage of this years Arc Stephen, I always find myself dipping into the course review videos as race day approaches for us dot watchers! Hopefully you'll be live streaming a usual? Be good to hear if your UTMB video has managed to find its way to the editing suite yet too? take care and have a great weekend down in Cornwall when race day arrives
Fantastic video and resource - I'm pondering doing day 3 of ACC in October as it's a big birthday that day... really not sure that suffolk geography will prove adequate training ground though...
Amazingly helpful Stephen, when I did my recces earlier in the year, I tried to memorise as much as your advice as I could. Sadly for me, I've deferred Arc100 until 2024 but the FOMO this time of year is huge. I swore I wouldn't watch any of it this year as it would meake me too sad. I've already broken that promise and I know I will be glued to YT next weekend. 🤣 Thanks for all the effort you put in to this. 👍
Hi Stephen hope all is well sir! Not sure if you know.. but for the 100 and 50 you have to take the event bus to the start i think.. do you know if you have to take it to the start of the new Arc 25 race? Cheers!
I’m afraid I don’t know Paul but I would imagine so. The start line of all the races are in areas with limited parking so all runners will likely be transported by bus to the start from the Eco Park

Thanks Colin
Excellent. Thank you very much, some very useful information and tips. looking forward to it. hopefully see you Friday!
Nice to see what it looks like in the daylight
I know. It's such a shame in a way that much of the most beautiful scenery is passed in pitch black!

Kudos. Appreciate the effort that has gone into this.
Thank Peter. Appreciated.
Brilliant insight of the ARC 100.
Great work Shephen. 👏
Thank you kindly Mark

Thank you for this. Above and beyond as usual 🙌
You're so welcome! Robin
As always a great video and a absolutely amazing Ultra, very helpful tips and advice .
Cheers Scott. Will we see you back there one day?
What a great video Steven 👍👍 looks stunning and makes me want to run 😊#must do the arc #
#GetYourNameDown !!
Brill, thanks Steve. I'm only doing the 50 but watched it all! I note also that Pendeen Watch is not an allowed crew stop this year.
Yes, it was such chaos last year that no crew allowed this year.
We're not allowed to say 'only' the 50 Jonathan lol
@@tomnorth8457 "Just" then? 😃 impatient to lose my Arc cherry. Bring it on!
Excellent guide, thank you! I’m sweeping the last leg this year and hope to do the 100 next year so this is invaluable 😁
How was your sweeping experience? I hope it hasn't put you off doing it next year!
@@FilmMyRun loved it! Can’t wait to be back for the main event

Thanks Jon. Had been hoping to update this video but not managed to get down to Cornwall with being ill after Christmas.
Thank you brother for well explained video. Hopefully I remember it when I am doing it this in 3 weeks time. 😂
Good luck! I'll see you at the start line
