One of the best songs ever, just magic and every time they play it live it's different on each occasion. Don't know anyone that doesn't love this track.
🎼💄💄💄 ... Hello Maddy and thank you for sharing this band with your audience. You will get tons of comments to help you understand the talent here. I will try to give a short description. Both of the stars here --- Susan Tedeschi (( lead singer & excellent guitarist )) and Derek Trucks (( premiere slide guitarist around the world )) had their owns bands, both based on blues music ... it just so happened that they were husband and wife. After some years they combined the bands and now are touring legends. Susan is my favorite female singer and is a very skilled guitarist. Derek has had a regular spot touring with Eric Clapton as his main guitar player. They have lots of original music, but are the top level when it comes to playing covers live. Please out check some more of The Tedeschi Trucks Band !!! .. you can't go wrong with this band ❣️ .. 💄💄💄🎼
Don't forget Derek was with the Allman Brothers for 15 years too. That's where he and Susan met; she was their opening act on a tour, and the rest is history.
@@buckfan1969 very true !! .. can you imagine Derek as a youngster learning from the Allman Brothers ?? .. I think his Uncle was in the Allman Brothers band. The talent in those days was off the charts .. and fortunately great music lives on and is shown to the next generations!! 🎼🎸🎼

@MaddyReactions, I don’t know if anyone responded to you about whether you pronounced Tedeschi correctly. The “sch” part of her name is pronounced like it is in school, in other words, pronounce it as if it’s spelled Tedeski.
You have chosen what few have - this is the exact video that caused me to fall in love with this band! They've recorded it many times since, but this is the most sublime!
Derek Trucks . Guitar Prodigy & Slide Guitar Heir to Duane Allman . Nephew of The Allman Brothers Band Drummer , Butch Trucks . Was asked to join the Allman Brothers Band at 19 years old in 1999 . Yeah , he's good 🙂

I saw Derek when he was just 12 years old in a place called APPLE JACKS IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA.HE wasn't even old enough to be in there. The dude was Shredding back then.He is Butch Trucks Nephew from The Allman brothers band. RIP Butch.🥁☮☘
Yeah I first heard about Derek from the two guitar builders that built my first custom guitar thru said he was amazing playing way beyond his years sitting in playing with the allman Bros I guess it was about 1988 or 89 in florida
I saw him play at Apple Jacks too. Met his dad there. Cool guy. Derek used to sit in with several local Jax bands around town. Apple Jacks was THE place for top tier blues shows back in the day. I saw many legends there, John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, and on and on and on.
Seeing the signatures on her guitar just makes you smile, if you know all of Derek's guitars have signatures. He grew up the son of a famous musician, so to him every meeting is special. He is a walking fan and legend himself as well. The fact that she shares in his little thing, brings me joy. I hope it does for you too.
Fantastic band, the best live show you can see these days IMO. This is the original lineup I believe. Susan Tedeschi is from Boston and had a solid solo career. Derek Trucks is the nephew of Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers. He is a virtuoso guitarist who was in the Allman Brothers band since the late 90s. He and Susan are married. The bassist and keyboard players are Brothers, Oteil and Kofi Burbridge (RIP Kofi). Oteil was also in the Allman Brothers. He left this band and played with Dead and Company. Mike Mattison was Derek's vocalist before he and Susan formed this band. I've had the privilege of seeing both Derek and Susan individually and have seen this band every year since 2010 but for Covid. I have seen the Allmans many times too. All of these bands and musicians in this band and those Susan was talking about are fabulous. Tedeschi Trucks Band is on tour again this spring and summer. If they're anywhere near where you live, they're a must see concert!!
Pronounced Te-DES-ky. Susan Tedeschi gained some attention back in 1998 with her single "It Hurts So Bad." This performance is from the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL (Chicago).
I was lucky enough to see Sue years(decades?) ago on tour with Stevie Ray Vaughn's Double Trouble as her band at an outdoor venue(long gone) in Seattle. What a show. Thanks Maddie.
Those are all LEGENDARY bands. Mad Dogs and Englishmen toured with Joe Cocker and made an album of the same name. What an awesome request! I don't listen to this band nearly enough, because every time I've come across them over the years I love them. Susan's voice is phenomenal. It's very grounding. That's the word that comes to mind for me. It's gritty and soulful and real, and that reality contains hope where maybe there wouldn't normally be any. I think that's what I have always loved about great blues/rock. And I wasn't mad at all that you stopped 20 seconds in and commented on the guitar player. I love that you know the difference between someone who plays guitar, and someone for whom the guitar completes a circuit in their soul. And it has nothing to do with technical mastery. But it is a spiritual experience when they are as masterful as that guy is. I need no religion but music that finds my soul.
It’s not just Susan and Derek. This song was written by one of the backup singers (Mike Mattison). Derik may be the band leader, but it is the collaboration that makes the band. They are individually amazing musicians, but together are so much more.
WOW! The connection to the Allman Brothers is incredible. Listen to Brothers and Sisters or any Allman brothers band CD the earlier the better and you too will hear heaven pouring out its blessings! Your musical diversity is stunning. Keep up the great work!!!
Another great choice to review Maddy. Derek Trucks is one of the greatest slide guitar players in the world and his wife Susan Tedeschi is a trained singer with an almost sultry voice very much bluesy. Tedeschi is pronounced with the “ key “ at the end just so you know. It’s Susan with her husband Derek Trucks on slide guitar, probably the best slide guitarist today ✨
Kofi, may he rest in peace, was a fantastic keyboard player and an even better flutist, and Oteil was the second coming of Barry Oakley much in the same way Derek was the second coming of Duane Allman
Best band touring now they put on an incredible show. The reason Derek the slide player and Otel Burbridge the bass player we’re so in sync they played together for about 15 years in the Allman Brothers band which you really want to check out. The keyboard player Kofi, Burbridge. Are brothers. My niece dated Kofi for about a year and a half up until his death a few years ago.
The keyboardist and the bass player are brothers, Kofi on keys and Oteil Burbridge on bass. Kofi died in 2019. The taller backup singer on the right as we look at them, Mike Mattison, wrote this song.

Susan's voice can peel paint! She is awesome! check out "It Hurt so Bad" & "Bring it on Home to Me" Featuring Sharon Jones! Fun Fact Susan is the singer in Vince Vance and Valliant's All I want for Christmas is you.
Their entire Revelator album is incredible - at points it is like the guitars are singing. That's Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi who always looks like a schoolteacher to me and then that voice comes out - you can listen to Derek's intro 4-5 times as far as I'm concerned! Definitely one of the better slide guitar players in the world right now. You need to write the name of all those bands they mentioned and listen to them, especaiily Mad Dogs and Englishmen and Joe Cocker doing With A Little Help From My Friends
Besides being incredible musicians, they seem like really nice people in all the interviews I've heard. Not to be missed if you get a chance to see them live.
I’ve seen Derek with his band before it merged with Susan’s “ they are married “ I also seen him with the Allman brothers, and also with Eric Clapton who has said that he is the best slide guitarist since Dwayne Allman. I’ve also seen this Band .
Mike Matteson, the back up singer on the right, wrote this song before Derek and Susan joined thier bands, want a treat watch Susan, Derek, and Warren Haynes perform I'd Rather Go Blind for Obama at the Red, White, And Blues concertin the White House
This song, Bonnie's Give It Up or Let Me Go, and from Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus live album, Fat Man in the Bathtub, all three are spot on and the common thread are that all three feature outstanding slide guitar.
Tedeschi Trucks Band is the best touring band in the world today. In my humble opinion. Susan with that heavenly voice and Derek the best slide guitarist living today. Susan has become a great guitar player herself over the years. Check out Susan Tedeschi - I Pity The Fool 12-4 21.
Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have been married for 23 years and they have made beautiful music together 🔥🔥

Susan's voice can peel paint! She is awesome! check out "It Hurt so Bad" & "Bring it on Home to Me" Featuring Sharon Jones! Fun Fact Susan is the singer in Vince Vance and Valliant's All I want for Christmas is you.
They will be touring this summer....go see them...they are all about LIVE
Great reaction!
You need to listen to "I pity the fool"! There is a great live version that you'll love!
Two drummers, horns, back up singers -not just hired for tours but a permanent integral part of this tight band…
Saw them a year ago...wanna go again 😢....sweet, smooth, loud..what else can you ask for 😊
IMO the best band touring today!!!
Great band, gorgeous Maddy. Buonanotte

She's definitely gorgeous!!
The ETown performance is even better. the solo on that one is pretty transcendent.

I'm so happy you reacted to TTB!

Derek looked at his wife (Susan) and FELT her soulful singing … then soulfully played slide guitar
One of your best reactions...
He makes the guitar sound like a Sitar.
Derek Trucks was a member of the Allman Brothers band; gotta be at least half good for that!
This is the best live band going right now. They tour a lot so … GO SEE THEM!
I got tickets to see the Portland show in May 😃🤘
Nice reaction. A little tidbit, this song was written by the back up singer on the right.
Co-written, as with many of their songs, by Mike Mattison one of the back up singers.
Smooth as rocks in a mountain stream !!
YES!!!!! excited for this reaction
Derek Trucks is quite possibly THE Best SLIDE GUITARIST today. At least he is to me, even after the years of playing in the Allman Brothers Band.
Mike Matteson, the back up singer on the right, wrote this song before Derek and Susan joined thier bands, want a treat watch Susan, Derek, and Warren Haynes perform I'd Rather Go Blind for Obama at the Red, White, And Blues concertin the White House
❤ this is a great track
It's times like this I'm glad to be alive
I think she and Bonnie Raitt ought to sing together - part of the reason you feel what she is saying is that she is a great blues singer
Susan she's too short short and s I n g she's a song word
They have played together in Europe. It's hard to find videos with good audio though.
Someone need to request Dan Vasc she is missing out
@@derekpetersen7571 I myself don't care for Dan but that's fine
This song, Bonnie's Give It Up or Let Me Go, and from Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus live album, Fat Man in the Bathtub, all three are spot on and the common thread are that all three feature outstanding slide guitar.
Susan Tedeshi is no slouch on the guitar either. Her and Derek Trucks make a great couple and musical duo.
Great choice Maddy 👌 you know your stuff
She sounds alot like Bonnie Raitt. Love it.
Oooh
I believe that is Duane Allman's Coricidon bottle slide he is using.
It's true, an Allman Brothers roady gave him a case of Duane's glass coricdon bottles when he was a teenager.
You may not know that Derek Trucks is the greatest slide guitarist alive.
Derek is one of the greats.
Definitely
For your information. Derek spent almost 20 years with the Allman Brothers.
