    I learned that on the Spectre the speakers are placed on both sides of the machine. In your review, which I really appreciated, the comparison between both machines was done in such a way that both machines were placed against eachother. Is there a possibility that because of that, the sound output of the Spectre was somehow compromised to a certain extend? Many thanks for the effort you put into your review and all the relevant information you shared with us..!

      Yoga is a crappy 16:9 aspect ratio. The way he films this comparison, he's hiding the amazing display on the spectre. There really is no comparison between the two. The Yoga is junk. You can get comparable laptops in that aspect ratio for half the cost. 16:10 and especially 3:2 demand a premium. Lenovo is kidding itself asking for premium price on a laptop that has nothing but standard features.

    I just returned my 9i Yoga for the 14T latest revision with the i7-1195G7 faster ram... I really liked the Yoga as I prefer less flashy but I did not like the touchpad AT ALL, I found myself always right clicking by accident as the touchpad is almost invisible and its lost on the deck. I also didnt like the click motor in it... I find it awkward to drag and drop etc and the invisible touchpad compounds the issue. I do love the in house pen on the yoga but it was too small and thin I prefer full size, and it wasn't effortless to take out, you need a fingernail and some room to pull it out. With the newer processor revision that actually benchmarks 5-15% better and the faster ram alone makes me prefer the HP, let alone full pen, not the weird trackpad, and finally overall BY FAR I prefer 2:3 over 16:9.... If the hp has the syling of the yoga it would be perfect in my opinion. Oh and lastly.. HP had a CARD READER!!! win win win win... I did have to fork over about $300 more however since the 9i is on a good sale right now

    You can see at the very beginning of the video, the pixels are too emphasized on the spectre model. I bought this machine and I got eye strain from that resolution. Eventually I had to return the machine. The yoga unfortunately seems closer to what my eyes are used to seeing.

      @@susansheikh8475 I haven't encountered any issues but I honestly don't use the laptop a whole ton. It's a "when I need it" device and usually by the time I pick it up the battery has drained most of the way but that's over week and weeks of it not being used and just sitting. I haven't looked to see which issues you are referring to. But I'm happy with the purchase I made. But I also have updated it to windows 11 and that seems to be working great for it as well.

    The spectre has one more row of key on the keyboard. And the 3:2 display is awesome. The laptops are even the same size. Showing that on traditional 16:9 or even 16:10 just loose screen space for nothing on the chins.

    What do you think I should get HP spectre, Yoga 9i or yoga c940? I want to have a 1 tb hard drive, 15 in screen and i7 and a touch screen. I have a envy in the shop but I don't know when it will be looked at or if it can be fixed at all. I need something that can arrive soon because I am in school and that starts up in early January. I like hps that is what i'm used to as that is what I'm used to but unfortunately most of them are out of my price range with the specs i am looking for. I saw one on hps site that is on sale for $1,314.99 but it only has 1 type a port and a type c port and i wanted something that has at least 3 ports. i like type a better but i have come to accept the fact that it will probably come with 2 type c ports and one type a ports.I could get the lenovo c940 direct from the company for $1,297.999 standard warranty. I would like to spend no more than $1,400 if possible. Are there any other laptops that i might like that would meet my criteria I am looking for. I would get the Spectre that I saw on sale from Best Buy if it didn't cost $1,700 which out of my budget. Please let me know what computer I should get that will meet my critera and fit my price range as well.

    What would make the HP Spectre x360 14t the perfect laptop??
    1. Find a way to house the pen in the laptop WITHOUT compromising the size/thickness of the pen (the thinner pen size on the Lenovo Yoga 9i 14" is a huge negative IMO).
    2. Add one more USB-C-4 port next to the USB-A port (on the corner where the power button used to be) BUT keep the USB-A port until the world moves on from USB-A accessories.
    3. Somehow make this 2-in-1 convertible laptop lighter without compromising battery life/size or other specs.

    Although the Yoga has the advantage of the turning speaker in the hinge, the volume on both these units should be the same since the 14t has a quad speaker set up with speakers on the top deck above the keyboard and bottom firing speakers. For the 14t to have B&O hardware speakers, these should be louder or at least as loud as the Yoga. Other reviewers say the volume being low is a bit of a disappointing. I wonder if HP intentionally limited volume levels because the hardware potentially rattles when volume is maxed out and it affects the performance of the sound quality. 🤔

    I belive the 4K display on the 9i is actually 500 nits Ed, not 400 like the HP. Yet the very first thing thst struck me in your review is how much brighter the HP looks next to the Lenovo. I'm not sure if that's just the translation to video or if that is what you see too? I actually thought the display on the 9i was much nicer than the 13t oled side by side in your previous video, the 13t looked way blown out (like when you have hdr enabled). Yet I know how gorgeous the 13t oled is next to anything because I have one too. :) I think the HP display is the clear winner in this though. I take it the speakers don't rattle on the 14 inch spectre like they do on the 13t? This was a great review thanks! I reckon the 14t is the winner overall, and I'm surprised to have reached that conclusion because I'm a sucker for good audio out of the box (in the context of a laptop) and also for a bright and crisp 4k display. It's hard to go back to fhd now.

      @canwefindout ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Meehiyuhoow Hello, I purchased a Yoga 7i 14 with an 11th gen i7, 512gb ssd, and 16gb ram. Top spec at the time. Here was my experience: the device is solid with a few flaws. The most convenient things about this laptop were the fingerprint scanner and startup/boot time. The laptop worked perfectly for work, school, and light gaming with Intel iris xe graphics for league of legends.
      Would I purchase the laptop again? No. The device had a few issues that I later upgraded to an Alienware x14 for.
      Heat. The laptop runs very hot as you have a single fan design, and the fan runs constantly which was audible. So the device is more worth it with an i5 instead of i7.
      Screen. The hinge mechanism broke on the device which damaged the screen and completely separated one hinge from the screen. This I had to purchase an extended warranty and then go through a month of not having the device as the first certified technician screwed up the repair. The hinge mechanism is a problem for almost all Lenovo laptops, there is only one gaming laptop they make where this hinge problem is fixed. The other issue with the screen is how dim it is. For outdoor use don't even try, for indoor use it's still dim so I had an extra monitor to work on instead.
      I believe lots of laptops nowadays have build quality issues. You get lucky and have no problems like me until your screen hinge breaks, where others could be unlucky and have a poor build.
      The things I miss most about the laptop is the fingerprint scanner, the camera cover, the speakers, the boot time, and the size/thin case.
      If I were to buy this model again, I would look to the 15 inch as I believe it has a double fan cooling system?
      I think there are better options, but it was one of the first laptops released with 11th gen Intel processors and iris xe graphics so I had no real reviews to go off of.
      Final thoughts: solid device, but the problems I had with a "good" unit in my opinion would make me look elsewhere.
      Hope this helps!

    1185 is just super cool tho lol. the xps 13 with the 1165 actually out scored the 9i with the 1185 in benchmarks, probably because dell is willing to let their laptop get a little hotter. higher temperature means better heat transfer rates.

    better off with Spectre x360 however, I prefer laptops with full size keyboard plus numeric pad keys. I always go for 15.6 inch because of upgradability, larger screen and usually more ports - connections. Any thing less might as well get a Tablet or use your Smart Phone. The only positive that Lenovo 9i has is the roll able sound bar which gives it better sound / audio. Don't upgrade OS from Windows 10 to Windows 11 as you will truly be sorry and regret it for life.

    In late 2020 a premium machine with an x86 chip is an oxymoron. TigerLake is hot and slow and has lousy battery life compared to the M1. I prefer Windows to MacOS but cannot justify buying a PC without a good ARM chip. Hint: Qualcomm is incapable of the job. Let's hope Microsoft will do it...

      Well I can only add that the hinges on the x360 envy 2020 are horribly cheap ... sadly because the internals are so nice, as is the Keyboard. But boy the hinges are the cheapest I've ever seen on a 2 in 1 ... I can only guess how good they are on the Spectre. On the other hand the half the price cheaper Lenovo C13 Chromebook is by far surperior in build quality all over the place.
      The HP can have the superior screen and all the horse power but that's super useless if that thing breaks into two sooner or later ... especially for a 2 in 1 that's super super unforgivable.
      I mean if you check Amazon there are many reports that report the same build quality issues for the Spectre.
      Makes me wonder if those giving the x360 line good reviews do have two blind eyes or just one ... or basically judge it from a day 1 perspective that they're going to return anyway.
      Hecks its even worse then the Asus Consumer Flipbook I have and that's not a good thing.

    Keep in mind these two laptops are comparing apples to oranges... I have both now doing my comparison... Sound is great on HP with new added speakers which this video can't capture... I will say Lenovo unless digital tuning is downloaded which it sounds like , out of box sounds like a broken 1 speaker boom box. Hp is not as loud but has new speakers that kill 9i out of box. 9i tack pad is a huge downer, HP wins... go to best buy buy both and pick. HP 1165g7 is faster from Intel on HP... 9i has 1185g7 which is near as fast... Now the jist of both wait till these have AMD... why we still use 4 cores , its not 2013... February into spring major discounts on these plus newer AMD models coming. I am taking both back since my old 2016 XPS is just as fast with new solid state drive... yes waaaay too many ads for us no premium viewers.

    I am an Apple fan so my preferences reflect that bias, but at £1700 I would much prefer a Macbook Air M1 with an iPad Pro. Not only does the battery life on the Air win but so does performance and I can then have the iPad for my tablet use, and no need to explain that as fare as tabletOS'es go, Windows is poor.
    I have tried these 2-in-1 tablet/laptop combos but they are bulky and unrefined in tablet mode and not a great user-experience even before you touch on tablet app support. The tent and stand mode seem no different to a clamshell mode so the so-called flexibility is lost on me.
    These are clearly priced at the premium end of ultrabook 2-in-1's and although they look and run to that level, there are far better value alternatives if you only need clamshell mode. I would suggest the Matebook 14 with 2k display Ryzen 7, 16gb RAM at £950 (with £300 free gifts in the UK).
    Thanks!

    • @Natsukashii1111
      @Natsukashii1111 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree for most of what you said as in there are cheaper alternative, but having windows and touch screen really add a lot. Sure you can buy a Mac and iPad but then you carry two devices and you pay for both so it's not cheaper and it's more bulky.
      Tent or stand is useful in your bed when you don't want to sit and just look at a movie/TH-cam...

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Natsukashii1111 I have no issues carrying two devices if I am more professional and efficient. For the same reason, I do not think a tablet can replace a laptop, I believe a laptop (2-in-1) cannot replace a tablet, so for me, buying two separate devices is a non-compromise choice. Of course, it depends on your workflow, and if you buy a 2-in-1 for primary clamshell use but just want the flexibility for the odd use case then these may indeed be better choices. Cheers!

      You need to add the price of the iPad for that to be a fair comparison.
      You are clearly an Apple guy so you are more likely to lean to an apple product.
      I don't want two portable machines. I want all my programmes to run natively. I value touchscreen on the laptop. I want all my files in one place, not on apple's or anybody else's servers. I also want a product that screws over its customers the least (right to repair has been destroyed with the M1 chips and in other ways on their other product lines).
      The M1 chips have also only been around a couple of months. They are not mature yet.
      Fact is apple could easily make a 2 in 1, but they won't. They could in the future once the technology or form is established - that's how apple works - but I doubt they will want to mess with the money train whereby Macbook users buy an iPad as well.

      @@brownbear100 it still hits me as a non comparison... I have apple products to run those programs and a windows machine to run windows programs... they don’t do the same thing. If I only ran programs that ran on both then I could see comparing the two but that’s not the case so it’s mute

      The iPad and M1 MB Air together are about the same price as a higher-spec 2-in-1.
      Two machines mean more battery, dual displays with sidecar, continuity, universal apps, see less connection of data, and much more. I could never go back to one device and have been using two for many years and carrying both is not a problem.
      The M1 chips have made 10 more progress in a month than WOA has made in two-years, Chrome and Office 365 all now native., Other stuff like Google Drive (Dropbox has a native beta) will follow soon.
      Apple won’t make a 2-in-1 as they decided, rightly, that a hybrid of tablet and laptop is unlikely to ever be great. They decided to get two OS’es working well and now they can use universal apps to cross the divide (with Apple Silicon). MS have made many mistakes but that was a humdinger, and even Google realised that Android could never be a desktop hybrid and did an Apple by building ChromeOS. Of course, no sensible company would destroy their own product so hating Apple for not blending the two is pure Apple hate.
